"Chucky" Actor Ed Gale Dies at 61

Yara Sameh
Ed Gale, best known for playing Chucky, a doll possessed by a serial killer in Child's Play and other infamous 1980s movie characters, has died in Los Angeles. He was 61.
His niece Kayse Gale wrote on Facebook, 'It is with a heavy heart and a surprisingly light coffin (see what I did there?) that we announce the sudden passing of our uncle, Ed Gale. Ed Gale has taken his final bow and is now headlining in the afterlife. Ed hitched a ride to California when he was twenty years old, with $41 and a dream, and he never looked back. He lit up the silver screens in cult classic films like Howard the Duck and Chopper Chicks in Zombie Town, earning himself some serious street cred at every con he attended. Which he never stopped bragging about. Ever.
'Over the course of his career he appeared in over 130 movies, TV shows, and commercials. With this wide ranging body of work, he leaves behind legacy full of questionable lighting and amazing one-liners.
Ed's favorite role was that of the 'fun uncle.' His love language was sharing his love of the entertainment industry and the magic of Hollywood with his nieces.
'Ed loved 7 eleven hotdogs with disgusting amounts of ketchup. He enjoyed reminiscing about his glory days DJing at the Plainwell roller rink. He hated Bill Maher for no good reason. He delighted in the slow build up of telling a good story, and cheating at cribbage. He had one hell of a laugh, and he will be missed. Rest in love you cranky bastard,' she concluded.
Gale went on to wear the devilish doll suit in 'Child's Play 2' and 'Bride of Chucky,' costumed as the possessed doll with the soul of a serial killer.
In the TV series 'Land of the Lost,' Gale played the dinosaur Tasha. He had a brief appearance on 'My Name Is Earl' as a carnival performer, and he had a supporting role in the Matthew McConaughey film 'Tiptoes,' which revolved around a family of little people.
His other appearances include 'Oh Brother, 'Where Art Thou,' 'Baywatch,' '3rd Rock From the Sun,' 'Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey' and 'Friday the 13th: The Series."
Gale was also a familiar face at fan conventions and personal appearances for his films.
Born in Plainwell, Mich., he moved to Los Angeles to become an actor and appeared in more than 130 movies, TV shows, and commercials.

Clint Eastwood Has Found His Next Movie

Yara Sameh There's just no stopping Clint Eastwood. The acclaimed actor and director has confirmed that he's already working on another movie, after keeping audiences on the edge of their seats with "Juror No. 2". While it's true that Eastwood will be celebrating his ninety-fifth birthday this year, the director looks very eager to continue his trajectory as one of the biggest icons in the history of cinema. Eastwood sounded very confident when talking about his health to Kurier, but the icon refused to give any details surrounding the premise of his next endeavor. Time will tell what Clint Eastwood is baking in the oven right now. The last time audiences got to enjoy the magic of Clint Eastwood's talent on the big screen was last year when Juror #2 depicted a man ridden with guilt during a murder trial. Justin Kempt (Nicholas Hoult) was called up for jury duty. The character was surprised when, while listening to the details of the murder case, he realized he might have been involved in the victim's death. Toni Collette and J.K. Simmons also starred in this legal thriller that earned more than $24 million at the global box office. Before the devastating story of Justin Kemp reached the big screen, Clint Eastwood had been working on Cry Macho and Richard Jewell. Warner Bros. has been the studio to produce the legendary artist's recent directorial efforts. The company has been working alongside Clint Eastwood for years, giving the director a blank canvas to develop the acclaimed stories he has put out throughout the latest stage of his career. It remains to be seen if Warner Bros. will also produce Eastwood's next project. Clint Eastwood's next movie will mark the next step in an unrivaled trajectory in the entertainment industry. Thanks to stories such as "The Good, The Bad and the Ugly" and "The Beguiled", Eastwood became one of the most recognizable people in the history of cinema. Regardless of what his next movie ends up dealing with, the prolific star has consolidated his name thanks to his unforgettable performances and ka een eye for storytelling. A release date for Clint Eastwood's next movie hasn't been announced yet. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan

"What Lies Beneath" TV Series in Works

Yara Sameh Robert Zemeckis' 2000 supernatural horror thriller "What Lies Beneath," starring Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer, is heading to the small screen as the latest Hollywood blockbuster to be getting a TV adaptation. The synopsis for the movie reads: "It had been a year since Dr. Norman Spencer (Harrison Ford) betrayed his beautiful wife Claire (Michelle Pfeiffer). But with Claire oblivious to the truth, Norman's life and marriage seem so perfect that when Claire tells him of hearing mysterious voices and seeing a young woman's image in their home, he dismisses her terror as delusion. Claire moves closer to the truth and it becomes clear that this apparition will not be dismissed, and has come back for Dr. Spencer and his beautiful wife." Mark Johnson, who is well known for producing features like The Chronicles of Narnia trilogy, Rain Man, The Notebook and more, said the property as one of several projects being considered for TV adaptation. We're very excited about the idea of maybe doing a television show — I'm not sure I should say this but I'm going to — our movie What Lies Beneath, that could lend itself to a very good, perhaps limited, perhaps not, TV show," he told Deadline . Johnson has been part of the production team for some of AMC's biggest hits over the last two decades, and that doesn't seem about to change as he has recently penned a renewal of his first-look deal with AMC Studios. Currently, one of his biggest roles is overseeing the Anne Rice universe that has delivered "Interview With the Vampire" and "The Mayfair Witches", and even as he turns 80 this year, the producer has no plans to step away from making shows he loves. He added in his interview: 'Why wouldn't I be at AMC? They truly celebrate the story. You look at the success they've had, it is still very much the leader and the benchmark: good writing, good characters and good television.' read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan
