Who are East Bengal's opponents in the preliminary stage of AFC Women's Champions League?
The Red and Gold Brigade will face Hong Kong-based Kitchee SC and Cambodian Women's League side Phnom Penh Crown FC in the preliminary stage.
The Anthony Andrews-coached team qualified for the continental tournament's preliminaries by winning the 2024–25 Indian Women's League (IWL).
East Bengal was placed in Pot 1 for the draw, alongside Kaohsiung Attackers FC (Chinese Taipei), Stallion Laguna FC (Philippines), and the College of Asian Scholars (Thailand).
The Kolkata side will travel to Cambodia to play the Preliminary Stage, which will be held in a centralised round-robin format from August 25 to 31, 2025.
Nineteen clubs from across the continent will play the Preliminary Stage, which features five groups – four groups of four teams each, and one group consisting of three clubs.
The five group winners will advance to the Group Stage, where they will join clubs from the top seven AFC Member Associations in the AFC Women's Club Competition Rankings 2024-25 – Melbourne City FC (Australia), Suwon FC Women (Korea Republic), Tokyo Verdy Beleza (Japan), defending champions Wuhan Jiangda Women's FC (China), Ho Chi Minh City Women's FC (Vietnam), Bam Khatoon FC (IR Iran), and a to-be-determined club from the United Arab Emirates.
After the conclusion of the Preliminary Stage, a draw will be conducted in September to determine how the Group Stage will pan out.

However, in the reverse game she managed to overcome the two-time world rapid champion 2.5-1.5. Following the victory against an opponent twice her age, Divya couldn't control her tear and said, as quoted by PTI, "I need time to process it (win). I think it was fate, me getting the Grandmaster title this way because before this (tournament) I didn't even have one (GM) norm, and now I am the Grandmaster." Divya has now secured a spot in next year's Candidates tournament, which would decide who will take on world champion Ju Wenjun of China in the Women's World Championship.

DKM Girls Retain Nagpur District Junior Basketball Title with easy 19-Point Triumph
1 2 Nagpur: Anaya Prabhune, Anandi Sonewane, Hemlata Dandekar, Meehira Dhote, and Pankhudi Bade scored in double digits as Dharampeth Krida Mandal (DKM) prevailed over Nutan Bharat Yuwak Sangh (NBYS) 64-45 to emerge as champions in the 25th Prakash Rajurkar Memorial Junior District Basketball Championship, which concluded on Sunday. With a facile 19-point title triumph at the Shankar Nagar-based home court, DKM girls once again underlined their supremacy in the district selection tournament organised under the aegis of the Nagpur District Basketball Association (NDBA). Making the most of their home conditions, Anaya fired a game-high 15 points, while Anandi and Hemlata netted 14 points each. Meehira (11) and Pankhudi (10) came up with timely contributions in DKM's victory. The quarter-wise scores in DKM's favour read 19-14, 18-16, 13-8, 14-7. As many as five DKM players scored baskets in double digits. Mrunmayee Sathe (14) and Nishita Bakre (10) played well for NBYS. Later, the prizes were distributed by NDBA's head and newly elected President of the Maharashtra State Basketball Association (MSBA), MLC Sandip Joshi.
