Qassam Brigades Targets Zionist Engineering Baqer

Saba Yemen27-06-2025
Gaza - (Saba):
The Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), announced today, Friday, that it had targeted a Zionist engineering Baqer with a Yassin 105 missile east of Khan Yunis.
In a brief statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the Brigades explained that "the Qassam Brigades targeted a Zionist engineering Baqer with a Yassin 105 missile in the town of Abasan al-Kabira, east of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip."
This comes in the context of the Palestinian factions' response to the genocidal crime committed by the Zionist enemy in the Gaza Strip, with American support, since October 7, 2023. This crime includes killing, starvation, destruction, and displacement, ignoring international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt it.

'Palestinian Free' Movement: Netanyahu's remarks demand Arab awakening, review of peace agreements

Gaza - Saba: The Palestinian Free Movement stated on Wednesday that Israeli war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu's remarks about the so-called 'Greater Israel' are a slap in the face, requiring Arab states to wake up, reconsider the ambitions of this entity and its fascist leadership, and review peace agreements concluded with it. In a press statement received by the Yemen News Agency (Saba), the movement strongly condemned these fascist-occupier remarks, emphasizing that this sinister agenda reflects premeditated intentions. It noted that the ongoing genocide, ethnic cleansing, and forced displacement in Gaza are part of a grand plan rooted in extremist Zionist dreams of occupying and settling Arab lands. The movement called for an urgent Arab League meeting to adopt serious positions regarding Netanyahu's proposals, his intentions, and his focus on historical visions and future expansionist plans for 'Greater Israel' across Arab territories. It also urged an immediate halt to normalization, closure of Israeli embassies, and expulsion of Israeli diplomats from Arab countries. Additionally, it called on the United Nations and the Security Council to condemn these racist, fascist statements, hold Israel accountable, and compel it to halt its malicious expansionist ambitions to prevent the outbreak of a regional war with uncontrollable consequences.

World Elders Council: Israel deliberately blocking aid from entering Gaza

London - Saba: The World Elders Council, which includes prominent world leaders, confirmed that Israel is deliberately blocking aid from entering the Gaza Strip, warning that the Strip faces the risk of genocide as a result of obstructing the entry of humanitarian aid, which is exacerbating the famine crisis. The group said in a statement on Tuesday that a delegation from the group visited the border crossings with Egypt and witnessed firsthand the deliberate prevention of life-saving aid from entering the Strip, according to Quds Press. Former New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark explained after visiting Rafah crossing that "many mothers are unable to provide food for themselves or their newborns, in light of the collapse of the health system," calling on Israel to open the crossing urgently. The statement indicated that the delegation saw evidence of the prevention of food and medical aid from entering and heard testimonies of the killing of Palestinian civilians, including children, while trying to obtain aid inside Gaza. The London-based council, founded by former South African President Nelson Mandela in 2007, called for the recognition of the State of Palestine, an immediate suspension of arms transfers and their components to Israel, and the imposition of sanctions on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, a war criminal wanted by the International Criminal Court. The statement emphasized that recognition of the State of Palestine "will not alone be sufficient to halt the impending genocide and famine" in the Gaza Strip.

Yemen bans use of foreign currency in local trade

Yemen's internationally-recognized government announced on Tuesday that all commercial transactions within areas under its control must be conducted using the Yemeni rial, prohibiting the use of foreign currencies for domestic trade and services. According to the state-run Saba news agency, the decision prohibits foreign currency use in transactions like tuition fees, medical expenses, rent and travel tickets, where foreign payment is not inherently required, reports citing foreign media. Ministers and provincial governors are tasked with enforcing the ban and reporting progress to the prime minister on a regular basis, Saba reported. This measure aims to strengthen the rial's sovereignty and stability. Currency traders in Aden told Xinhua that the rial surged to 1,617 per US dollar in government-controlled areas on Monday, a 40-percent recovery from nearly 2,900 weeks earlier. Yemen faces an unprecedented financial crisis after more than two years without oil revenue, which constitutes 70 percent of government income. The crisis deepened following Houthi attacks on oil export facilities in southern Yemen in late 2022, and amid the prolonged conflict since 2014. The war-torn Arab nation remains divided between the internationally-recognised government based in Aden and the Houthis that control the capital Sanaa and northern regions.
