Ford recalls over 103,000 US vehicles over damaged axle bolts
A broken axle bolt can damage axle hub splines - components that transfer power from the axle to the wheels and help them rotate.
Damaged splines can cause vehicles to roll away when in park without the parking brake engaged or result in a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash, the U.S. auto safety authority said.
The report said that if the rear axle bolt becomes loose, customers may report a clicking noise. If the bolt breaks, they may hear a rattling noise.
As a remedy, dealers will replace the rear axle shaft assemblies, free of charge.
The recall affects Ford's F-150 models between 2023 and 2025. NHTSA estimates about 1% of the vehicles have the defect.

Jaguar Land Rover to recall over 121,500 cars in US, blame it on a faulty suspension
Tata Motors-owned British luxury car marque Jaguar Land Rover to recall more than 121,500 cars in the United States owing to a suspension knuckle issue. The recall affected cars include the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models in the country. The affected vehicles will be inspected by the technicians, and the faulty parts will be fixed or replaced without any cost to the customers. The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), in an official statement, has said that the potentially affected cars from Jaguar and Land Rover have faulty front suspensions. The NHTSA has stated that the aluminium front suspension knuckles, which connect the front wheels to the vehicle's critical components like the brake assembly, are at the centre of this recall. The agency has also said that the faulty suspension parts could crack and possibly increase the risk of a crash, which could be fatal if the vehicle is in speeds. The recall comes after the agency launched a preliminary investigation into 91,856 Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles over fractured front steering knuckles back in June this year. Just a few days back, Tata Motors reported a consolidated net profit of ₹4,003 crore for the first quarter of FY26, down by 62.2 per cent from the ₹10,587 crore recorded in the same quarter last year. The auto company attributed this drop in profit to lower sales volumes across segments and a dip in JLR's profits due to the US tariffs. Tata Motors has also stated that the revenue of JLR dropped by 9.2 per cent on a year-on-year basis in the last quarter of this fiscal, as compared to the first quarter of the last financial year. JLR's revenue for the quarter slumped to 6.6 billion pounds. The company attributed this decline to lowered wholesale volumes due to tariffs and the planned phase-out of legacy Jaguar models. Meanwhile, JLR is undergoing a leadership change with PB Balaji slated to take over as the new CEO from November 17, 2025. Check out Upcoming Cars in India 2025, Best SUVs in India. Ford Unveils Affordable EV Range, First Pickup To Arrive In 2027
Last Updated: The new EVs will be manufactured at Ford's Louisville plant in Kentucky and exported globally. Ford has announced an all-new range of affordable electric vehicles (EVs) built on a fresh 'Universal EV Platform'. The company says this breakthrough is as significant as the arrival of the legendary Model T, marking a bold step towards accessible electric mobility, as per Autocar UK. The first model from this platform will be a mid-size, double-cab pick-up truck, expected to launch in 2027 at around 30,000 USD. What Models Can We Expect? According to Ford CEO Jim Farley, this pick-up is just the beginning. The range will expand to include a hatchback, crossover, van, and a three-bench SUV – all expected to carry similar price tags. The new EVs will be built at Ford's Louisville plant in the US and shipped worldwide. Farley proudly declared, 'From Kentucky to the world," emphasising the importance of building locally and exporting globally. Farley added that the truck will be 'faster than a Mustang twin-turbo", support rapid charging, and feature a spacious interior 'bigger inside than a Toyota RAV4". It will also come with a front trunk (frunk) and an advanced operating system with over-the-air updates. How Will Ford Build It? The vehicles will be made in a unique way – assembling the front, rear and central structure (platform, battery, seats and interior) separately, before joining them together at the end. This process aims to make production faster and more efficient. Furthermore, Farley stressed that this project goes beyond selling vehicles. 'Our competitors build in Asia and import. We are making here and exporting. This is about our country," he said. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Jaguar Land Rover recalls 121,500 SUVs in US over suspension defect
Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is recalling more than 121,500 vehicles in the United States to address a defect in the front suspension knuckles, the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on Wednesday, according to a report by Reuters. JLR defect raises crash risk, says NHTSA The recall affects Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models. According to NHTSA, the aluminium front suspension knuckles, which link the front wheels to critical components such as the brake assembly, could crack, potentially increasing the risk of a crash. In June, NHTSA launched a preliminary evaluation into 91,856 JLR vehicles over fractured front steering knuckles. The investigation focused on 2014–2017 Range Rover Sport models produced by Jaguar Land Rover North America and aimed to assess the scope, severity and cause of the defect. On Friday, Tata Motors reported a consolidated net profit of ₹4,003 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2025 (Q1 FY26). This was down 62.2 per cent from ₹10,587 crore in the same quarter a year earlier. Compared with the earlier quarter, profit fell 53.2 per cent to ₹8,556 crore. The company cited lower volumes across segments and a decline in JLR's profits, which were affected by US tariffs. JLR's revenue for the quarter declined 9.2 per cent year-on-year to £6.6 billion (about ₹67,320 crore), reflecting reduced wholesale volumes due to tariffs and the planned wind-down of legacy Jaguar models, the company said.
