Kabir Bedi was 'emotionally ruined' by son Siddharth's death by suicide, lost all his money in bad investments: ‘Main tabaah ho gaya'
Kabir Bedi, who went through many ups and downs in his life, recently spoke about his financial struggles that had him re-evaluate his decisions in life. Kabir shared that since he did not come from an affluent family, he was excited to earn some money internationally but gradually, he realised that his expenses were more than his earnings. His bad investments and a flamboyant lifestyle brought him to a place where he felt he would be 'on the streets' if he does not take control of the situation.
In a chat with BBC News Hindi, Kabir shared that in his early days, having some money gave him peace of mind. 'People who come from a background where finances are scarce, they always want to secure themselves financially so when I tasted success in Europe… I made some money and that was a very important thing for me because that gives you a sense of, 'I don't have to worry where my next meal is coming from or where my rent is coming from',' he said and added that the sudden influx of money can make one careless about their spending habits.
'If you have never had any money and suddenly you get some money, you think this will now be your permanent state and you start getting reckless with money. And if I were to give any advice to anyone, it would be that don't get careless with money. It's very difficult to make money but very easy to lose it,' he said and added, 'I made some wrong investments and lost a lot of money.' Kabir said that since one has tasted some stardom, they start spending a lot of money on the frills of being a star. 'You are a star, you should have a good house, good car, travel first class, that becomes your lifestyle and money keeps flowing out,' he said and added that people create financial problems for themselves in this fashion.

Kabir shared that there was a phase in his life where he was 'ruined' financially and emotionally. He spoke about a time in the 1990s when his son Siddharth died by suicide and he did not have much money. 'Main tabaah ho gaya tha (I was ruined),' he said and added, 'Not just financially, but emotionally also because it came at a point where my financial investments went against me. At that time, my son passed away so it was such a time in the late 1990s that I didn't know what I was doing. I would go for auditions and I couldn't understand what I was saying. I lost work, opportunities and the situation just kept getting worse.' Kabir said that it was then that he decided to take control of the situation because he believed that if he lost it, then he would, 'Barbaad ho jaunga, sadko pe aa jaunga main (I will be ruined, on the streets.)' Kabir said that he decided to go back to his strengths and moved to England and he rebuilt his life doing one project at a time.
Kabir has appeared in international films like Octopussy, Sandokan among many others.

Bhool Chuk Maaf OTT Release Date: 4 things to know before watching Rajkummar Rao & Wamiqa Gabbi's film online
Bhool Chuk Maaf OTT Release Date: Despite enjoying a favourable run at the box office, Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi's latest family drama is ready to make its digital debut sooner than expected. Due to an extensive Maddock Films Vs PVR Inox legal battle, it was decided that the theatre-to-OTT window of this Dinesh Vijan production will be just two weeks. Here are four things you must know! 1. When and where to watch Bhool Chuk Maaf? Bhool Chuk Maaf will be streaming on Prime Video starting June 6, 2025. The film has so far earned Rs 74.75 crore at the global box office. 2. Bhool Chuk Maaf's cast and crew Written and directed by Karan Sharma, this is a Ketan Sodha and Tanishk Bagchi musical, cinematographed by Sudeep Chatterjee and edited by Manish Pradhan. Other than Rajkummar and Wamiqa, Bhool Chuk Maaf also stars Seema Pahwa, Sanjay Mishra, Zakir Hussain, Raghubir Yadav, Ishtiyak Khan, Purnima Sharma, Anubha Fatehpuria, Jay Thakkar, Pragati Mishra and Dheerendra Gautam among others. 3. Bhool Chuk Maaf's plot overview The story is about Ranjan, a sweet and simple guy from Varanasi who finally lands a government job. This is a big deal for him because now he can marry the love of his life, Titli. But just when things are going perfectly and their wedding is about to happen, something strange occurs: Ranjan gets stuck in a time loop. He keeps waking up to the same day over and over again, the day before his Haldi ceremony. At first, he's confused and frustrated. But as he relives the day again and again, he starts learning more about himself, his relationship, and the people around him. Through this funny and emotional journey, he begins to understand what truly matters in love and life. In the end, the film is about love, second chances, and finding meaning even in the strangest situations. 4. Bhool Chuk Maaf's review The Times of India rated the movie 3 out of 5, and a part of their review read, 'Bhool Chuk Maaf has a few elements that are strikingly different and then those that follow a template. The family dynamics and eccentric characters may have that Bareilly Ki Barfi- North Indian vibe, but it also has its own personality. The social commentary through humour isn't predictable and is well established. The time loop can feel like you are witnessing a number of behind-the-scenes fun retakes. If you are up for it, you can give this one a watch.'

Bhool Chuk Maaf Box Office Collection Day 11: Rajkummar Rao-Wamiqa Gabbi film earns Rs 62.82 crore, will finish strong in last three days of its theatrical release
Bhool Chuk Maaf Box Office Collection Day 11: Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi's Bhool Chuk Maaf is certainly making a mark during its limited theatrical run. Released on May 23 in the theatres, the film was expected to struggle because of its unique two-week run at the theatres before it starts streaming on OTT. Consisting of only two weekends, this kind of run limits the power of the word of mouth and doesn't provide the film with the chance of making some real money. The film, however, has managed to do well in the circumstances. Directed by Karan Sharma, the film has already gone past films such as Shahid Kapoor's Deva that had an India net collection of just Rs 33.9 crore, while John Abraham's much awaited The Diplomat earned Rs 40.73 crore. Bhool Chuk Maaf, with the 'time-loop' conflict at the centre of its narrative, has managed to overshadow all these films, including some more that were released this year, and the makers will be hoping for a strong finish. The occupancy rates maintained an average of 10%, with the morning and afternoon shows bringing in 5.27% and 11.78%, respectively, while the evening and night shows achieved 11.06% and 12.47%. ALSO READ: PVR-Inox top boss declares Rajkummar Rao's Bhool Chuk Maaf a 'genuine hit' after theatrical release dispute: 'Has revived theatres' The reason why the remaining three weekdays are even more crucial for the film is that new competitors will be entering the arena right as it makes its exit. The Mani Ratnam directorial Thug Life, starring Kamal Haasan, will be releasing on June 5, and the ensemble comedy Housefull 5 is releasing on June 6. Thug Life marks the return of Ratnam and Haasan coming together, while Housefull 5 has a cast which is bound to chew away a big chunk of Bhool Chuk Maaf's audience. The cast of Housefull 5 includes Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Sonam Bajwa, Jacqueline Fernandez, Jackie Shroff, and Nana Patekar. Bhool Chuk Maaf might have been able to draw some audiences to the theatres while competing with the two aforementioned movies, but that question will remain unanswered as the film will be released on Prime Video on June 6, ending its theatrical run. Initially due to the recent India-Pakistan conflict, the makers of the film had decided to launch the film straight to OTT, but multiplex group PVR INOX intervened with a lawsuit. Post the legal action, Maddock Films decided to have this one-off two-week theatrical run.
