JSK Satish Kumar, who produced the first film and will be playing the lead and co-writing the screenplay of this one, says, 'Kuttram Kadithal 2 is not a sequel. It's based on a school teacher's life, and there was no better title than this one."
The filming of Kuttram Kadithal 2 was progressing in the misty locales of Kodaikanal when we met the team for an exclusive set visit. After wrapping up the shoot at 3am in the morning, the crew resumed filming after just a five-hour break in between.
And yet, the entire team was in high spirits as they spoke about the film and their involvement in it.
There was no better title for the film: JSK Satish Kumar
JSK Satish Kumar, who produced the first film and will be playing the lead and co-writing the screenplay of this one, says, ' Kuttram Kadithal 2 is not a sequel. It's based on a school teacher's life, and there was no better title than this one. Initially, we thought of titling the film as Vaathi , but since a film by that name has already come out, we went with this title.
My character, Nallasivam, is about to retire and is honoured with the National Teachers' Award.
The village, Pallangi, celebrates his win like a thiruvizha , and what happens then will be what the film is about.'
None of the actors in the film just come and go:
SK Jeeva
SK Jeeva, who has directed Pudhumai Pithan (1998) and Lovely (2001) and was a writer of Azhagiya Tamizh Magan and Aneethi , will be helming this film. Elaborating on what's being shot, he says, 'We are filming a scene where Nallasivam, who is respected by the whole village, is called for a police enquiry.
We are also planning to shoot in Kodaikanal, Kerala and Nagercoil.'
I felt this would be apt for my Tamil re-entry:
Keerthi Chawla
For Keerthi Chawla, Kuttram Kadithal 2 is extra special, as she is making her re-entry in Tamil after more than a decade. She says, 'I play Manimekalai, a homely character. Deepak plays my husband. I waited a while to do a film in Tamil, and felt this would be apt for my re-entry in Tamil.'
My character is a family-oriented guy: Deepak Dinkar
Deepak Dinkar refers to his character as the ' mappillai of the house' and adds, 'Viji akka and I were doing another film together, and while we were interacting, she mentioned this film, and that's how I came on board.
My character owns a bakery and is a family-oriented guy. The film has a good message about life's values.'
I feel a sense of satisfaction acting in this film: Pandiarajan
Actor-director Pandiarajan plays the protagonist's friend Madhavan. 'I initially wondered if I was right for this role, but as each day passes by, I'm being moulded into the character. Every day, after acting in the film, when I sleep at night, I feel a sense of satisfaction and happiness. Usually, I don't play risky characters.
But this film has a distinctive storyline. JSK is a family friend, and we play friends in the film as well,' he says.
Everybody on set is motivating: Lovelyn
'I play JSK sir and mom's second daughter in the film, and I'm paired opposite Manas,' shares Lovelyn Chandrasekhar. 'I play a bold character. It's been such a chill set. Everybody has been motivating and pampering me. And working with my mom is always nice.'
I play an innocent and subtle character: Viji
Viji Chandrasekhar finds her role in Kuttram Kadithal 2 to be light in comparison to her other roles. 'My character is subtle and innocent. Her family is her world. Usually, I play ferocious roles, but this role is as cool as Kodaikanal,' she says. Interestingly, her real-life daughter, Lovelyn, plays her daughter in the film. 'It's helped us bond both on and off screen.'

One of the most anticipated movies, Kanchana 4 marks a special milestone for Nora, and she is thrilled to be part of it, especially since this is her first appearance in Tamil cinema. She is enthusiastically embracing this new phase of her career. The franchise already has such a strong legacy, and the script was so unique that I wanted to be part of it. I was also looking to do another comedy after the success of Madgaon Express.' Although Nora isn't afraid to experiment, language has been a challenge. 'Of course, language is always a challenge, but I love challenges. This has definitely been the hardest so far, but I spend extra hours rehearsing,' she shared. Is Anil Kapoor part of Suriya's next Telugu film? Director Venky Atluri breaks his silence

Director Venky Atluri has addressed and dismissed rumors linking Anil Kapoor to his upcoming Telugu film. The filmmaker clarified that he has neither approached nor spoken to the Bollywood star, stressing that the reports are untrue. 'We haven't even approached Anil Kapoor. I haven't met him or even spoken to him over the phone. We don't know how these rumors started, hence these reports are false and baseless,' Atluri told Deccan Chronicle. Excited to collaborate with Suriya While putting the speculation to rest, the director confirmed the film's leading man — Tamil superstar Suriya. Atluri, known for films like Sir with Dhanush and Lucky Bhaskar with Dulquer Salmaan, expressed his excitement about joining forces with the actor. 'I'm truly excited to work with such a talented actor,' he said, adding that this collaboration marks an important milestone in his career as he takes on a big-ticket production headlined by one of South cinema's biggest names. Kanguva: Suriya pumps iron as he prepares for the film Why Anil Kapoor's name came up The rumor mill likely gained momentum given the recent influx of Bollywood actors into Telugu cinema. Icons like Amitabh Bachchan (Kalki 2898 AD), Sanjay Dutt (Double iSmart), Saif Ali Khan (Devara), Bobby Deol (Hari Hara Veera Mallu), Nawazuddin Siddiqui (Saindhav), and Akshay Kumar (Kannappa) have all taken up significant roles in big-budget Tollywood projects. With the speculation now dismissed, attention has shifted back to Atluri's much-anticipated collaboration with Suriya. The project has already generated buzz among fans and trade circles and is expected to begin filming soon. Anurag Kashyap slams producer Vijay Subramaniam over AI generated film 'Chiranjeevi Hanuman'

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has called out producer Vijay Subramaniam for his AI-generated movie Chiranjeevi Hanuman- The Eternal, saying it represents a dangerous future for Hindi cinema. The 52-year-old shared the film's poster on Instagram with a note to Subramaniam, who is the founder and group CEO of talent management agency Collective Artists Network. Subramaniam has produced the project in collaboration with Vikram Malhotra of Abundantia Entertainment. "Any actor or anyone who calls themselves artists and has a spine will be and should be either questioning him or leaving the agency since he has proved that he thinks you're no match for his AI performance. "This right here is the future for the spineless and cowardly so called artists in the Hindi Film industry. Well done Vijay Subramaniam. Shame is not enough on you. You should be in the gutter," Kashyap posted. The director further said that companies are always looking out for themselves rather than the talent. "So much for looking after and representing the interests of creators. End of the day, all these agencies are only interested in making money off you and since they choose turkeys after turkeys for you and you're not making enough for them, they are going all AI," Kashyap added. In a follow-up comment on his post, Kashyap said he has no issues with artificial intelligence as nobody "can stop AI from taking over every field and the world". "My genuine grouse is with my friend Vijay Subramaniam, because he is the CEO of KWAN Collective. He represents the artists, the voice of artists and he is producing an AI FILM, when the industry needs corrections, especially from the agencies, who are very responsible for costs going up, actors career paths and writers, musician , filmmakers." "And so it begins... Who TF needs writers and directors when it's 'Made in AI'? (sic)" the Black Warrant director wrote. Subramaniam had earlier told PTI in an interview that his aims to create films that merge modern technology with ancient stories that will cater to a younger audience with shorter attention spans.
