Promising review: "I love the light color of these. They are the perfect warm glow, and I love the white cord. I have them in a few different rooms in the house, and they are wonderful! Having bought them over and over, occasionally I will get a strand that burns out a little faster, but at 10 bucks for two strands, I can't complain. They are wonderful." —AmeliaPrice: $10 A space-saving K-Mini Keurig perfect for those mornings (and there likely will be many) when you don't feel like trekking to the on-campus cafe or dining hall for a quick cup of Joe or tea. Plus, honestly, the smell of fresh-brewing coffee helps me wake up in the morning, and it definitely did for my 8 a.m. classes. Promising review: "I absolutely love this Keurig. This gay Olympic figure skater just proposed to his boyfriend and 'he said yes'
We could all use an injection of joy right now, and lucky for us, love is in the air! Out gay Olympic figure skater Paul Poirier just proposed to his boyfriend and shared the happy news with the rest of the world with a cute Instagram post of the two men showing off their new engagement rings. 'We did a thing (he said yes),' Poirier wrote on social media, announcing his engagement to boyfriend Kevin. Poirier's figure skating partner, Piper Gilles, was one of the first to congratulate the lovebirds, commenting, 'So happy for you two!! You've deserved all the love.' The 33-year-old world champion shared the news with those closest to him before making the announcement public. The couple has yet to announce a wedding date. 'It was a very casual proposal at home during our evening routine,' Poirier told Outsports. 'It was really nice to share that quiet moment together, and then to share the news with our families and closest friends. We're both very excited!' It takes a lot of guts to come out as an athlete. Luckily, more and more LGBTQ+ Olympic athletes are taking the plunge. In fact, four Olympic athletes kissed their partners in front of the world during the last Olympics, six lesbian couples who competed at the Paris Olympics, and gold medalist Jade Carey hard launched her new girlfriend just this past March. Poirier may be a fairly private person and a bit of an introvert, but he came out publicly back in 2021, a year ahead of going to the Beijing Winter Olympics. '[Being a gay athlete] hasn't been something that I've really talked about very much, especially in a public setting,' Poirier said at the time. 'I've had this attitude that my private life is my private life and my life outside of skating is my life outside of skating. I haven't necessarily allowed all of those things to [blend] together. I think with the lead-up to the Olympic Games in the next year, I definitely see opportunities to share what we do and who we are to a much wider audience, and that opportunity is not lost on me.' Poirier and Gilles are currently working to land a spot at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy. Dog Adopted by Fishing Family Has Hilarious Reaction to Meeting First Fish
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A rescue dog recently adopted by a family of keen anglers was left totally unimpressed by his first encounter with a fish. Kevin the chocolate Labrador retriever has become a social media sensation, after his new owners shared a video of him getting to grips with a family tradition: fishing. Posted to their TikTok account, @chippingchipper, on July 29, Kevin could be seen sitting on a boat, a misty lake visible in the early-morning background, alongside their other dog, German shepherd Odin. Their owner had caught a fish, and before returning it to the water, offered it to the dogs for a sniff. And Kevin, curious, went for it right away—only to instantly pull a disgusted face, shake his head back and forth, and begin retching, as the woman behind the camera burst out laughing. The man then turned around to put the fish back in the lake, and Odin followed him to the edge of the boat, as if to make sure it was really gone, while Kevin hung back. Their owner wrote in a caption: "One was raised on the boat, the other is new to the family. Can you guess who is who?" TikTok users were in stitches, awarding the video more than 300,000 likes, with one writing: "Something about a dog gagging is so hilarious," and another joking: "The lab report wasn't positive." "One is salivating, the other almost throwing up," another pointed out, with another writing: "Kevin says NO THANK YOU." Plenty of commenters shared their love for Kevin's name, with one writing: "I love animals with human names." But his owner admitted they "can't take the credit," as "he's our rescue and we couldn't imagine changing [his name]. Fits his personality!" Since their first video went viral, Kevin's adopters have been sharing more videos of their two dogs, with Kevin slowly getting to grips with life on the water. In one, he plays on a deck, rolling back and forth on his back, before accidentally landing in the water with a splash—but appears quite happy while swimming back to shore. And in their most recent video, Kevin's owner gives him another opportunity to sniff a freshly-caught fish. But this time, he doesn't take his new dad up on the offer. Kevin the rescue dog got his first sniff of a fish, and wasn't impressed. Kevin the rescue dog got his first sniff of a fish, and wasn't impressed. TikTok @chippingchipper As a Labrador, Kevin is already more likely than other breeds to enjoy life by the water: according to a vet-reviewed report from PetMD, golden retrievers and Labrador retrievers often enjoy swimming. Poodles, English and Irish setters, and Newfoundland dogs are also included in the list of breeds who enjoy swimming, alongside dogs specially-bred for water such as the Porrtuguese water dog and American water spaniel.
