Where LSU football's offensive sits in Phil Steele's 2025 SEC unit rankings
Replacing four NFL-caliber offensive linemen in one offseason is no easy task, but that's what LSU is forced to do heading into the 2025 season.
LSU's offensive line was among the best in the SEC in recent seasons, but Phil Steele predicts a dropoff for the Tigers' unit this fall. According to Phil Steele's 2025 College Football Preview, LSU's offensive line is projected to rank No. 12 in the SEC.
Sitting atop Steele's OL rankings are the Texas A&M Aggies, who LSU will play on October 25.
LSU's biggest challenge is replacing Campbell, but the Tigers feel confident in young tackles Weston Davis and Tyree Adams. Davis and Adams are young, but they were both highly touted recruits who took control of the job in spring practice.
If Davis and Adams play up to their full potential, LSU could exceed Steele's expectations in 2025.

Mandatory Credit: Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports New York Giants fans have been buzzing with excitement over the last week following some intriguing comments from former superstar Odell Beckham Jr. During an appearance on a panel at Fanatics Fest, Beckham was asked if he would re-sign with the Giants this offseason. His simple response, 'I got you,' went viral on social media, leading fans to believe a reunion was on the horizon. Advertisement However, one insider believes such a reunion is unlikely to take place. Giants reportedly 'unlikely' to sign Odell Beckham Jr. ESPN's Giants insider Jordan Raanan recently answered some questions about the team on his podcast, 'Breaking Big Blue,' and gave some insight on the Giants' interest in reuniting with Beckham. Credit: Danielle Parhizkaran / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images 'Odell Beckham Jr. made some comments at Fanatics Fest about maybe coming back to the Giants. I talked to people, there's nothing brewing there,' Raanan said. 'It's unlikely to happen. I would not expect Odell Beckham Jr. to be a Giant again. 'Maybe somewhere along the line, he retires a one-day contract to retire a Giant… I don't see, based on talking to people, that Odell Beckham coming back to the Giants this year is something that's realistic and makes a ton of sense.' Advertisement Not only were Giants fans, but even some Giants players were engaged in the initial rumors surrounding Beckham. Several stars, such as Malik Nabers, Brian Burns, and rookie Abdul Carter, made comments on social media expressing their interest in Beckham donning the Blue and Red once more. But ultimately, it doesn't seem like Beckham will be back with Big Blue in 2025. What could Beckham provide in 2025? In 2024, Beckham was largely ineffective. He appeared in nine games with the Miami Dolphins, making zero starts and totaling only 55 yards on nine receptions. Credit: Sam Navarro-Imagn Images If the Giants were to sign Beckham this summer, he would be unlikely to play a major role in the offense and could even be viewed as just a training camp body. Advertisement Adding depth is a crucial step in the summer. As training camp and preseason intensify, the Giants will want to be vigilant in adding more talent to their roster. Perhaps Beckham could become more of an option down the line. Related Headlines

NFL Veteran Drops Reality Check on Travis Hunter
NFL Veteran Drops Reality Check on Travis Hunter originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Entering his 13th NFL season with the Kansas City Chiefs, three-time Super Bowl winner Travis Kelce has seen it all. Advertisement His experience was vital in mentoring rookies on the Chiefs offense in 2024, such as wide receiver Xavier Worthy and tight end Jared Wiley. "More than anything it's the leadership he brings to the building every day," Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes said of Kelce this offseason. "How he leads by example, how he leads vocally, it's a big impact to our football team." Part of helping young players adapt to the NFL is setting realistic expectations. When Kelce was asked about Jacksonville Jaguars rookie Travis Hunter, he had no issue sharing how he expects the league to make life "miserable" for the former Colorado Buffaloes two-way star. Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce (left) and Jacksonville Jaguars rookie Travis Hunter (right).Mark J. Rebilas-Imagn Images; Doug Engle/Florida Times-Union 'Travis Hunter, man, the guy's really good,' Kelce told Will Compton and Taylor Lewan on their "Bussin' with the Boys" podcast. Advertisement They were reflecting on Colorado's 34-23 win over Kelce's alma mater, University of Cincinnati in 2024, propelled by Hunter's nine receptions for 153 yards and two touchdowns. The Chiefs tight end declared that Hunter will "100 percent" be good in the NFL, but he raised concerns about the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft potentially playing cornerback and wide receiver like he did in college. 'Both sides? See, that's the thing," Kelce said. "I don't know how they're gonna divvy it out. Because teams are gonna be going after him. They are gonna try to make his day miserable." "If he plays corner, they're gonna run deep balls at him all day, just to try to get him tired," Kelce explained. "Why wouldn't you attack him that way?' Advertisement Hunter is expected to get reps on offense and defense in 2025, even though the Jaguars limited him to one side of the ball per practice this offseason as he eases his way into the NFL. Hunter, 22, will make his NFL debut at home against the Carolina Panthers in Week 1 on Sep. 7. The Chiefs will be able to put Kelce's theory to the test in Week 5, when they meet the Jaguars on "Monday Night Football." Are Eagles Learning From Past Post-Super Bowl Mistakes?
Are Eagles Learning From Past Post-Super Bowl Mistakes? originally appeared on Athlon Sports. After winning Super Bowl LIX last year, the Philadelphia Eagles are trying to repeat as champions. Sound familiar? Advertisement They have been in this situation before. To accomplish their goal of a repeat championship, there are multiple lessons to learn from the last time they were at this point. When the Eagles first won the Super Bowl in 2017-18, they did - to their credit - most everything they could to get back the following year. That meant giving contract extensions to some of their older stars, such as Nigel Bradham and Alshon Jeffery. It only took a short time to see those well-intentioned moves crumble. Philadelphia was one of the league leaders maybe in injuries due to its older roster at the time, which led to the team collapsing into a regime change just three years following its Super Bowl win. Advertisement What is arguably more remarkable is that the Eagles were able to shrug off that season's failings and build another Super Bowl winner. As they prepare for another title defense, has general manager Howie Roseman and the organization learned from the mistakes they made before? Early returns should tell wondering Eagles fans that they have. Instead of re-signing several of their older stars, Philadelphia has said goodbye to many prominent leaders. Darius Slay, C.J. Gardner-Johnson, and Brandon Graham are just a few veterans who departed from the organization this offseason. By parting with some of its more critical veterans, Philadelphia is choosing to focus on the growth of its young roster. The Eagles have the 10th-youngest roster in the game. … and that alone is evidence of the team's learning from its past mistakes. Advertisement Time will tell if they can maintain their dominance in 2025 and beyond. … but the change in policy is notable and laudable.
