Lil Baby's 'Cowardly Actions' Led To Teens' Deaths, Police Say
According to WSB-TV, law enforcement held a press conference on Wednesday (Feb. 26) where they shared more details about the deaths of 13-year-old teens, Jakody Davis and Lamon Freeman, and the arrests of seven suspects.
Major Ralph Woolfolk of APD's Violent Crime Interdiction Section claimed that the fatal shooting that killed both kids at Freeman's birthday party in July 2024 in Atlanta was connected to 'a gang war,' which started at a Lil Baby music video. An arrest warrant has since been issued for the ATL rapper's arrest.
Woolfolk explained that, in the days since Lil Baby's video shoot in rival gang territory, authorities could trace several shootings that were connected to his music video. Police officers hypothesize that the incident that left the boys dead stemmed from a 'high-ranking member of the gang opposing [Baby's] gang calling in a hit from a contraband cellphone inside a Georgia prison.' However, the identification of the man hasn't yet been released.
'The cowardly acts of an Atlanta-based rapper that decided to go into a rival gang stronghold in a place he knew he should not have been,' Woolfolk said at the conference. 'This team will work relentlessly to hold [Lil Baby] accountable.'
Officers state that they have posted a $50,000 reward for anyone who can come forward with more information.
In 2024, the rapper né Dominique Armani Jones was arrested on gun charges in Las Vegas. 8NewsNow reported that the WHAM artist told officers 'to just arrest him for the charge and let's go,' just before being detained 'on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon' near a Vegas casino.
Jones allegedly told the police that he would 'beat the charge' due to having a Georgia gun permit—even though authorities alerted him that that documentation wasn't valid in Nevada.
Jones' next court appearance for the Vegas arrest is scheduled for Oct. 1. Lil Baby faces a felony charge of carrying a concealed weapon without a permit.

France-based streamer Raphael Graven, who went by the online alias "Jean Pormanove" or simply "JP," reportedly died Monday after being subjected to about 10 days of violence and sleep deprivation during a streaming. According to French prosecutors, Graven died at a property near Nice in the village of Contes, miles from the Mediterranean Sea and the Principality of Monaco. "Jean Pormanove was humiliated and mistreated for months live on the Kick platform," stated Clara Chappaz, France's digital affairs and artificial intelligence minister. She added that a judicial investigation was underway. "The death of Jean Pormanove and the violence he suffered are an absolute horror," Chappaz added. Graven, 46, was a tall, slim man with glasses who had more than 1 million followers and was known for live-streaming his extreme challenges. Unverified social media footage depicted multiple men beating and choking JP at one point, noticing he appeared lifeless on a mattress, at which point the live broadcast was quickly cut off. Kick said officials were "urgently reviewing" the situation and its fatal circumstances. Another French official called the violent death "horrifying." "(Social media platforms) have an immense responsibility in regulating online content so that our children are not exposed to violent content," Sarah El Hairy, France's high commissioner for children, posted on X. "I call on parents to be extremely vigilant," she continued. A Kick spokesperson said the Twitch-like streaming platform was "deeply saddened" by the loss of Jeanpormanove and "extend our condolences to his family, friends and community." "Kick's community guidelines are designed to protect creators, and we remain committed to upholding these standards across our platform," it said in a statement. A co-creator, Naruto, paid tribute to his "brother, sidekick, partner" in an Instagram post and asked the public to "respect" his memory and not repost his violent end. It follows a 2014 unrelated incident when a 25-year-old French man from near Paris killed a French policeman and his wife and claimed allegiance the the Islamic State in a live-streamed attack on Facebook.

Report: Russian Sabotage Operations In Europe Have Quadrupled Since 2023

Russia has dramatically increased sabotage operations throughout Europe, a new report has found, with the number of attacks targeting critical infrastructure nearly quadrupling since 2023. The findings, by the International Institute for Strategic Studies, dovetail with a growing number of press reports, indictments, and intelligence warnings alleging Moscow has made covert sabotage and surveillance operations a major priority, aimed at destabilizing European governments. 'While Russia has so far failed to achieve its primary aim, European capitals have struggled to respond to Russian sabotage operations and have found it challenging to agree a unified response, coordinate action, develop effective deterrence measures and impose sufficient costs on the Kremlin,' the report by the London-based think tank said. The scope of so-called hybrid attacks blamed on Russia includes arson attacks, incidents where ships have damaged undersea communications cables, disruption of GPS satellite navigation signals, and the hacking of computer infrastructure. The bulk of the targets, the report released August 19 found, are in Ukraine or are connected to European efforts to support or supply Ukraine with military and other civilian hardware. The uptick of incidents coincided with Russia's all-out invasion of Ukraine, launched in February 2022, and spiked in 2023 and 2024, quadrupling over that period. The report also tallied a slowdown in attacks in the first half of 2025, though it was unclear exactly what that could be attributed to. European and other Western governments have expelled dozens of Russian intelligence officers, many working under diplomatic cover, dating back to before the Ukraine invasion. That has forced Russian agencies to turn to proxy or mercenary-type of operations, where people are hired, some unwittingly, to carry out sabotage or other operations. Last month, a British court convicted three men of setting fire to a London warehouse where Ukrainian-bound equipment was being stored, a plot prosecutors said was orchestrated by operatives linked to the Russian mercenary company Wagner. In a related incident, three Ukrainians have been accused of trying to set fire to properties linked to British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. 'Russia has exploited gaps in legal systems through its 'gig economy' approach, enabling it to avoid attribution and responsibility. Since 2022 and the expulsion of hundreds of its intelligence officers from European capitals, Russia has been highly effective in its online recruitment of third-country nationals to circumvent European counter-intelligence measures,' the report said. There was no immediate response to the report from Russian officials. European governments have also under-invested in maintaining security systems for critical infrastructure, the report said, even as fears mount that the covert campaign could be part of a longer-term effort by Russia. 'Some NATO member states have assessed Russia's unconventional war to be part of its long-term preparations for a potential military confrontation with NATO,' the report said.

Russian man faces terrorism charges over Berlin Israeli embassy plot
A Russian national suspected of supporting the extremist militia organization Islamic State has been charged for allegedly planning a terrorist attack on the Israeli embassy in Berlin. The Federal Public Prosecutor's Office has brought charges against the man, who was arrested at Berlin-Brandenburg Airport in February while on his way to boarding. According to police, he was set to travel to Pakistan to undergo military training for Islamic State. "From the beginning of February 2025, he initially planned to commit an attack in Germany, for example on the Israeli embassy in Berlin," said the statement from the federal prosecutors. To this end, the accused had obtained instructions on how to make explosives on the internet, but he was unable to obtain the necessary components. He is also said to have translated propaganda material for Islamic State into Russian and Chechen.
