Do you reminisce about games like The Last of Us, God of War III or Uncharted 2? An ad-free PS3 emulator for Android, called aPS3e, is now available on the Google Play Store.
The good news is it's free, though there's a $5 paid version if you'd like to support the developer, which doesn't give you any extra features.
The bad news: it's pretty unlikely you'll be able to revisit your PS3 favorites on a 5-year-old Android smartphone. You'll need to meet sky-high performance requirements to run the most popular PS3 games, well out of reach for average smartphone users.
The developer recommends an absolute bare minimum of 6GB of RAM, with 8GB recommended. You'll also need to be running Android 7 and up and have a high-end chip like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+. So, there's a good chance you'll need a relatively high-end device like the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra or the gaming-focused Asus ROG Phone 9 to get it to work optimally.
Users on Reddit are also reporting slow load times and plenty of bugs, though that's fairly understandable given how ambitious the project is. Previous interviews with developers from the project have noted how the PS3's unique software architecture has made emulation, particularly on Android, a difficult task. But these requirements don't seem to be putting off gamers, it has clocked up over 50,000 downloads since launching just a few days ago.
Enthusiasts have been releasing PS3 emulators since the early 2010s, though this is the first time something like this has appeared for smartphones. The app comes from a little-known Chinese developer called Aenu and is based on the RPCS3 source code, originally developed for the most popular PS3 emulator for desktop computers.

OpenAI CEO Slams Meta's $100M Hiring Tactics as 'Copycat Strategy'

June 18 - Meta (NASDAQ:META) has been offering signing bonuses as high as $100 million in an aggressive bid to recruit OpenAI staff, according to CEO Sam Altman. Speaking on the Uncapped podcast, Altman said the social media giant tried to recruit a lot of people from OpenAI but noted that none of the company's top talent had accepted the offers so far. He suggested Meta sees OpenAI as its main rival in artificial intelligence. Warning! GuruFocus has detected 5 Warning Sign with META. Altman criticized the strategy of handing out massive guaranteed compensation, saying it may hurt innovation and distract from actual progress. You're always going to where your competitor was, he said, adding that culture, not just cash, drives breakthroughs. The hiring push comes amid Meta's broader investment in AI. Last week, the company acquired a 49% stake in Scale AI for $14.3 billion, bringing founder Alexandr Wang and several team members into the fold. Wang is expected to lead a lab focused on "superintelligence," or AI that surpasses human capability. Meta has also brought in researchers from Google's DeepMind, including Jack Rae, as CEO Mark Zuckerberg continues to take a hands-on role in expanding the company's AI capabilities. Despite delays in rolling out its latest AI model, analysts note that Meta remains a central player in the open-source AI space, thanks to its Llama models. Experts say its investments may still yield long-term gains in model training and infrastructure. This article first appeared on GuruFocus. Global Polymer Revolutionizes Polymer Manufacturing with Proprietary Custom-Molding Technology for UHMW-PE

MADISON, SD / ACCESS Newswire / June 19, 2025 / Global Polymer, a leading innovator in polymer manufacturing, has unveiled a proprietary new method for custom-molding Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW-PE), setting a new industry standard in what is possible with this high-performance material. Traditionally, UHMW-PE is supplied in sheet form and then fabricated, limiting the design flexibility available to engineers and manufacturers. Global Polymer's breakthrough process enables the company to custom mold UHMW-PE into complex, high-strength components with varying thicknesses and integrated features, giving OEM companies across various industries new freedom to design for performance, durability, and cost efficiency. 'UHMW-PE is already a game-changing material-offering self-lubricating properties, extreme durability, and resilience across temperature fluctuations,' said Todd Huntimer, President for Global Polymer Industries. 'Now, with our proprietary molding technology, we are opening up an entirely new world of design possibilities. We can mold in fasteners, metal inserts, variable wall thicknesses, and geometries that were previously impossible with traditional fabrication methods.' The new capability is already transforming applications in industries such as: With Global Polymer's technology, engineers can now specify molded UHMW-PE components that perform better, last longer, and simplify assembly without sacrificing the inherent advantages of this versatile polymer. 'This is more than a materials innovation,' added Huntimer. 'It's a manufacturing revolution. We are enabling OEMs to achieve part consolidation, lightweighting, corrosion resistance, and extended wear life with a single custom-molded component.' The company is actively working with OEM partners to develop custom UHMW-PE solutions that deliver tangible performance and cost benefits. Apple Slashes M4 Mac Mini Price Way Below Black Friday, Feels Like a Surprise Clearout Sale on Amazon

Apple's famous little desktop computer now comes with a huge upgrade, including iPhone mirroring and Apple Intelligence. The Mac Mini blew away the computing world when it debuted in 2005 — a Mac desktop computer with all of the processing power and cool features of its larger siblings, but at a fraction of the size. In a time when huge desktop towers were still common, the Mac Mini showed that bigger most definitely does not always mean better. See at Amazon Fast forward 20 years, and the Mac Mini is doing it all over again. The most recent redesign of the Mini dropped last year, and it's somehow smaller and even faster than ever. Now with Apple's formidable M4 chip as its processor, this is unquestionably the best Mac Mini yet, and if you head to Amazon right now, you'll also find it's priced to move at just $469, a 17% drop from its already reasonable retail price of $599. Smaller Body, Bigger Brain The 2024 iteration of the Mac Mini is a dream come true for anyone who values a neat, minimalist desk layout. It's just 5 by 5 inches — an inch and a half smaller than the original, and less than half the size of the previous design — and now for your convenience it has ports both in the front of the unit and the back, Two USB-C ports and a headphone jack are at the front of the machine, and three Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HDMI port, and a gigabit Ethernet connection reside in the back with the power cable. All those connections mean the 2024 M4 Mac Mini can be the centerpiece of up to 3 displays — two Thunderbolt connections with up to 6K resolution at 60Hz and a third Thunderbolt with up to 5K resolution, or a third with 4K resolution through the HDMI port. With the Mini taking up next to no desk space, you can go wild with the displays, and the WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 connections will make whatever you're watching come through flawlessly. Pure Power The 2024 M4 Mac Mini is valued for its compact size and vast array of connections, but the real selling point is the power. The 10-core M4 CPU pushes data with incredible speed and efficiency — it's up to 13 times faster than the fastest Intel-based Mac Mini. And now with a 16-core neural engine built in, you'll get to experience Apple Intelligence and all of its vast power. The 2024 M4 Mac Mini has set the bar yet again for compact desktop computing, shrinking its footprint even further while exponentially increasing its speed and power. With Amazon taking $100 off the price, the M4 Mac Mini is an absolute steal at just $499. See at Amazon
