Indian Army Displays State-Of-The-Art Apache Attack Helicopters, First Visuals Out
The Indian Army inducted the first batch of three state-of-the-art AH-64E Apache helicopters, which are known as one of the world's most advanced multi-role combat choppers.
In a major milestone for India's military capability, the Indian Army inducted the first batch of Apache helicopters developed by Boeing. These state-of-the-art choppers are expected to significantly bolster the operational capabilities of the Indian Army.
Boeing delivered the AH-64E Apache choppers, known as one of the world's most advanced multi-role combat helicopters, as part of a contract to supply six helicopters to the Indian Army.
Other procedures, such as assembling, the Joint Receipt Inspection (JRI), and induction, would be followed as per the protocol.
The Indian Air Force (IAF) had signed a multi-billion-dollar contract with the US government and Boeing Ltd in September 2015 for 22 Apache helicopters. The Defence Ministry in 2017 approved the procurement of six Apache helicopters along with weapons systems from Boeing at a cost of Rs 4,168 crore for the Army.
India has now joined the likes of the United States, the UK, Israel and Egypt to use the Boeing-made Apache choppers. These helicopters are armed with a powerful 30 mm chain gun, laser and radar-guided Hellfire missiles for precision strikes, and rocket pods capable of engaging multiple ground targets.
'Milestone moment for Indian Army as the first batch of Apache helicopters for Army Aviation arrive today in India. These state-of-the-art platforms will bolster the operational capabilities of the Indian Army significantly," said the Indian Army on X.
India first acquired 22 Apache helicopters for the Indian Air Force under a 2015 agreement, which have been deployed in Ladakh and western sectors. The six new ones being inducted are for the Indian Army's Aviation Corps.

Consumer commission fines photographers for deficient wedding services
Koppal: The District Consumer Redressal Commission has ruled in favour of a couple who lodged a complaint against photographers for failing to provide promised wedding services. The commission has ordered the photographers to pay compensation and costs for the deficient service. According to consumer complaint No. 72/2024, Lekhana and Arpan from Koppal, hired Roshan Christopher and Emmanuel of Wedhoods Woollex, BTM Layout, Bengaluru, to provide photography and videography services for their pre-and post-wedding ceremonies. A contract was signed for Rs 1.2 lakh to cover the wedding ceremonies in Sakleshpur and Chikkamagaluru from Nov 28 to Nov 30, 2022, with Rs 1 lakh paid through UPI transactions. However, the couple later approached the consumer commission, alleging that the services provided by the company failed to meet the agreed terms. The commission, chaired by GE Saubhagyalakshmi and member Raju N Maitri, directed the photographers to pay Rs 25,000 as compensation to the complainants, along with interest at 6% per annum from the date of the complaint until the amount was paid. Ghaziabad: Over a year after a Loni resident felt at the receiving end of a "faulty delivery" from an e-commerce platform, he has got relief from the consumer forum. District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (DCDRC) has directed Amazon to collect the product from Sankalp Dhama and refund Rs 26,989, which was taken in advance for a premium headphone. Dhama had filed the complaint in June 2024, a month after the delivery of the product. A bench of DCDRC, comprising president Praveen Kumar Jain and members Shailja Sachan and RP Singh, on July 17 also directed the company to pay compensation of Rs 5,000 for mental agony and litigation costs within a period of 45 days from the date of the order. 'Drishyam 2' producer Kumar Mangat Pathak granted bail by Patiala House court
Producer has been granted anticipatory bail by the Patiala House court in Delhi with regard to an FIR lodged by .
