Man filming reel, couple drown in Haridwar, Rishikesh
In Haridwar, 30-year-old Udal Kashyap, a resident of Shyampur, drowned in the seasonal Rawasan river while filming a social media reel.
His body was found on Saturday. Shyampur SHO Nitesh Sharma said, "Kashyap, a driver by profession, had gone with his friends to the Rawasan river on Friday evening when he slipped while recording a reel and was swept away by the current.
A police team launched a rescue operation and found his body."
Later that night in Rishikesh, a couple from Chandreshwar Nagar went missing while crossing the Chandrabhaga river near Mayakund.
Police said a sudden rise in water level caused them to lose balance and getting swept away by the current.
Sub-inspector Binesh Kumar of Rishikesh police station said, "Pintu Kumar, a native of Hathras, UP, and his wife Lakshmi ran an eatery in Rishikesh. While crossing the river to return home, Lakshmi lost her balance and was swept away. Pintu tried to save her but also drowned. Locals said both were pulled into the Ganga. A search is underway. The couple has a minor daughter who lives with her grandmother in UP."

Andhra Pradesh honey-trap case: Prime accused Joy Jamima rearrested; police suspect more victims
VISAKHAPATNAM: The investigation into the honey-trap case has revealed more details, with police saying the prime accused, 28-year-old Koruprolu Joy Jamima, and her accomplices cheated several men, including wealthy individuals, an NRI and a few from Vizag city and nearby areas, under the pretext of love and marriage. The gang allegedly extorted large sums of money from the victims. Police said the exact number of victims remains unclear, as only a few have reported the crime. Jamima was first arrested by Bheemili police in October 2024 for duping an NRI man through Instagram. She allegedly lured him to Vizag, confined him in a room with the help of her gang, drugged him, and then posed for photos that were later used to blackmail him for money. Recently released on bail, Jamima was arrested again by MVP police in August 2025 for allegedly cheating another man using the same modus operandi. So far, Bheemili, Kancharapalem and MVP police have registered cases against her for duping more than four people. Police said Jamima also filed false complaints against some men, alleging that she had been deceived or sexually assaulted under the guise of marriage, before using the cases to blackmail and extort them. Five members of the honey-trap gang, including another key accused, Polamarasetti Ratnaraju, have been arrested. Investigations have shown that large sums of money were transferred between Jamima and Ratnaraju. Although the number of victims is still uncertain, police suspect several men in Vizag and the surrounding areas may have fallen prey to the gang but have not come forward out of fear or shame. Vizag City Police Chief Dr Shanka Brata Bagchi appealed that "if anyone turned out to be a victim in the honey trap case, they can approach the police as their identity will not be revealed." MUMBAI: Mumbai traffic police issued more than 10,000 e-challans on Saturday for various traffic violations during the Dahi Handi celebrations, with penalties amounting to nearly Rs 1.13 crore.
