Randy Moss' Son Reacts After Going Unsigned at Vikings Tryout
For Montigo Moss to follow in his father's footsteps, it's going to be an uphill battle.
The son of Randy Moss, Montigo caught 61 passes for 722 yards and 7 touchdowns as a senior at Maine in 2024 but went undrafted in April.

He received an invitation for Minnesota Vikings rookie minicamps in May, joining six undrafted rookie wide receivers and third-round pick Tai Felton.
As a tryout, Montigo was among just two receivers without a contract at rookie minicamps, meaning he would have to put on a performance that would warrant cutting another player to receive a contract and join the team this offseason.
Moss did not receive an offer after his visit, but he did share some thoughts about the experience that he hopes will propel his career forward.
'Being around athletes who dedicate every ounce of energy to perfect their craft opened my eyes, " Montigo told VikingsNewsSkol on June 10. "Watching their focus during drills and their intensity in every rep showed me that talent alone isn't enough.

'I'm extremely thankful to have been given the opportunity to witness that environment firsthand and to showcase my skillset in hopes of continuing my career with this talented community,' he added.
At 6-foot-1, 220 pounds, Montigo doesn't have the same frame that made his father a nightmare for opposing defenses. Montigo said he ran a 4.6-second 40-yard dash coming out of high school, which is on the slower end for NFL receivers.
However, he has a polished route tree and could be a bully as a run-blocker and special-teams contributor.
While Montigo remains unsigned, there is a seed planted in Minnesota that could be revisited at some point this summer.

Vikings' Rondale Moore to miss second consecutive season after gut-wrenching knee injury
Vikings wide receiver Rondale Moore will miss a second straight season after suffering a devastating left knee injury in Minnesota's preseason opener against the Texans this past weekend, the team confirmed Tuesday. Moore, who missed all of the 2024 campaign after sustaining a right knee injury at training camp as a member of the Falcons, injured his knee Saturday while returning the Texans' first punt. Upon being tackled by Houston linebacker Jamal Hill, the former second-round pick was carted off the field as he slammed his hands in frustration. Jeffrey Becker-Imagn Images The Vikings, who signed Moore, 25, earlier in the offseason, placed him on injured reserve Tuesday. 'It's one of the most painful things for me as a head coach when I feel that emotion,' head coach Kevin O'Connell said Saturday following the injury. 'I make a life out of trying to leave others better than I found them. In that situation, there is nothing I can do, which is the worst feeling as a coach. So you just consult with him and make sure that he knows he's not going to be alone.' Advertisement 5 Rondale Moore had signed with the Vikings earlier in the offseason. Micah Parsons' Agent 'Not Joking' And 'Very Serious' About Cowboys Trade Demand: Report
Micah Parsons' Agent 'Not Joking' And 'Very Serious' About Cowboys Trade Demand: Report originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Dallas Cowboys insist they do not have any plan to bow to the trade demand from Micah Parsons. Parsons' side, meanwhile, also seems unbending. 'The biggest impression I got talking to people ... is they're not joking. They're very serious about their request," 105.3 The Fan's Bobby Belt reported on Wednesday following his conversation with agent David Mulugheta. The Jerry vs. Micah tension, at least in the public forum, continues to rise, all stemming from the stalled contract negotiations between the two parties. Parsons issued a trade demand last week, with team owner Jerry Jones countering with a series of "What, Me Worry?'' media responses. The latest example is an ominous and outrageous one. The Cowboys owner was asked on Tuesday in Oxnard if, in the midst of his contract dispute with star Parsons, he is 'confident' that Parsons will be on the field in Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles. 'Again no, absolutely none,' Jones said bluntly. Jerry added, softening the blow a bit, 'A big part of that is his decision. How would I know that? I'm just saying. No, but I'm urgent.' Parsons remains with the team in Oxnard as he is a "hold-in'' amid controversy over contract extension talks that we all assume will eventually land the superstar pass-rusher a deal worth more than $40 million APY. Parsons is in the final year of his contract and due to make $21 million in 2025 ... so the Cowboys are not obliged to do anything. Indeed, they have the option to franchise tag him for the next two years - though that stands in conflict with what both sides have long planned. Of course, right now, "conflict'' seems to be the order of the day. Want to listen on the go? Try The Fish Report podcast! Cowboys' 'Electric' Rookie Gets Pro Bowler Comparison In Oxnard
Cowboys' 'Electric' Rookie Gets Pro Bowler Comparison In Oxnard originally appeared on Athlon Sports. It has been some training camp for Dallas Cowboys running back Jaydon Blue as the former Texas Longhorn has been rewarded for stacking good days in practice with first-team reps. Seen as a lightning bolt out of the backfield, Blue as a runner and receiver is devastating, and through the first week of camp, Jaydon has been making play after play to the point where he's looking settled working with the starting offense. Yeah, we understand that it's only training camp, but Blue is doing everything expected of him, and to the extent that head coach Brian Schottenheimer has given the rookie a rather nice comparison to a three-time Pro Bowler, and a member of the Hall of Fame All-2010 Team. "Jaydon, he's picked up the confidence and the understanding of what we're trying to do and the understanding of the preparation,' Schottenheimer said. "When guys do that, you reward them. The quickness and the ability to accelerate in the hole, it's just different. "He's got incredible lateral agility, quickness, and when he jump cuts or moves laterally, he's able to get to top speed in a hurry, and he doesn't need a lot of space. He reminds me of the quickness and acceleration of Darren Sproles. Darren was freaky with his quickness, acceleration, and speed. I think Jaydon has some of those traits in terms of he's electric when he gets the ball.' That is quite the comparison, with Sproles having played 14 years in the NFL and being known for his speed and agility to make defenders miss, plus his ability as a receiver, it is clear Schotty sees something similar in Blue. So that is something to aim for, but Blue must now continue to stack good days in Oxnard, because there are chances on Schottenheimer's offense, if he's good enough and right now, he's making his head coach take notice. There will be a role for Blue in 2025, but exactly what that is we don't know. But one thing is for certain, he might be too electric to not have on the field.
