Netflix's Dept Q part 2 and 3 are available to stream now
Dept Q has taken the world by storm ever since it aired on Netflix late last month. Fans can't seem to get enough of the gripping crime drama and have demanded a second season.
The hit show follows the misunderstood detective, Morck, who returns to work following a gunshot wound and is placed in charge of a cold case unit, attempting to solve the disappearance of human rights lawyer Merritt Weaver.
Fans are now calling for more seasons of the binge-worthy show and they're in luck, as there are three other adaptations of the story.
The programme was adapted from the best-selling novels by Danish author Jussi Alder-Olsen, and there are three other movie adaptations from the novels which follow the story of detective Carl Morck and Akram as they attempt to solve crime.
The first novel in the 10 part series, Mercy, was adapted into a Danish film back in 2013 titled The Keeper of Lost Causes. Although the cast is not the same, it still follows the same characters.
The Keeper of Lost Causes stars Nikolaj Lie Kaas as Carl Morck and Fares Fares as Assad (which was changed to Akram for the Netflix version) as they search for Merete Lynggaard, who is trapped in a pressure chamber.
A second film, The Absent One, was released in 2014, and a third, A Conspiracy of Faith, was released in 2016.
The Absent One follows Carl and Assad's investigation into a historical murder of twins, while A Conspiracy of Faith follows the duo as they look into an ancient message in a bottle which is linked to a religious community.
Where can I watch the films?
All three of the films are available to watch in the UK with a Viaplay subscription on Amazon Prime Video. If this is not accessible, they are also available to rent on other streaming platforms such as Apple TV+, YouTube and Sky Store.
Additionally, Jussi Adler-Olsen's book series - ten whole novels - which the show is based on are also available to purchase online and in book stores. With his latest, Locked In, released in December last year, there are plenty of books to get your fix while you're missing the show.
Will there be a season two of Dept Q?
As for the Netflix adaptation, there is no official confirmation that there will be a second season of the show. However Matthew Goode said that the cast are "desperate" to get together and film another season.
He told Deadline: "I'd wanted to work with Shirley Henderson - 'Shenderson' - for years. And Kelly McDonald, and then this fairly relatively new actress, Leah Byrne, who is a revelation in this show.
"It's very difficult to be talking about some of the things that she has to talk about and make them hilarious. It's quite a staggering… Well, it's writing and talent, where they meet, I suppose. I love them all. That's why we're desperate to do a second season."

Harry Potter director reveals struggle to get support from 'suspicious' crew
Harry Potter director Chris Columbus recalled the crew's initial suspicions of him and how much 'work' it took to get their support. The filmmaker helmed the first two movies in the franchise, 2001's Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and 2002 sequel, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. He most recently worked on the eagerly-anticipated adaptation of the Thursday Murder Club on Netflix, starring Pierce Brosnan, Dame Helen Mirren, Sir Ben Kingsley and Celia Imrie During a Q&A session with the cast at the New York premiere, held at the Paris Theater, host Josh Horowitz asked how he managed being an American surrounded by a group of A-list Brits on set – and he compared the experience to his efforts on the wizarding series. 'I had already been through it with Potter,' the 66-year-old replied, explaining that he grew up with a 'love of everything British', stemming from the Beatles and watching A Hard Day's Night and Help! 'I'm pretty well steeped in the culture, and I dealt with all the jokes and the ridiculousness when I started Harry Potter – the first two weeks, the crew was completely suspicious of me. '[They] thought, 'What's this Yank doing here?' I heard all the Chris Columbus, Christopher Columbus jokes… But then you have to keep up. You have to keep up a certain level. 'The thing about working with the Brits is you have to keep up a certain level of humor. It's self-deprecating humor, and you have to be as sharp as f**k. 'You cannot ever, ever… If you lose your step, you lose your step for the whole shoot. 'For me, it was casting all of these incredibly brilliant, funny people and just keeping up with them. I hope that endeared me to the crew the second time. 'It was a lot of work on Potter to get that support from the crew – it felt a lot more comfortable going back for the second time on this movie. I'd do it again in a second.' Chris jumped straight into another book adaptation – with a mostly British cast – for the Thursday Murder Club, which is landing on Netflix in just a few weeks. The upcoming murder mystery film, based on Richard Osman's best-selling novel of the same name, follows retirees who spend their free time casually solving cold cases – but things take a murderous turn when they are thrown into a real crime. Naomi Ackie, Richard E Grant, Tom Ellis, David Tennant and Daniel Mays make up the rest of the line-up. Speaking of the star-studded cast, Chris revealed that they were all the first choices for their roles – which had only previously happened when working on Harry Potter. He continued: 'The interesting comparison, ironically, is that on Potter, we made a list of all of our first choices – Dame Maggie Smith, Richard Harris and Robbie Coltrane – and they all said yes, and that has not happened to me in 20 years, until this book.' 'And it was Dame Helen Mirren, Sir Ben Kingsley, Pierce Brosnan, Celia Imrie, and they all said yes. It inspires you to only want to work with British actors because they say yes,' he laughed. 'It was a labor of love … because when I walked in the first day of rehearsal, when we were reading through the script, the four of them were sitting there, and it was 160 years of British cinema, and it's very intimidating. And one suggestion in the comments section was eight-part crime drama Unbelievable, which is based on a true story. 'I spent a lot of time reflecting on Marie. 'It just broke my heart the entire time. Every scene, she's just a girl who kept getting punched in the face, even after her assault. 'Even before her assault, she had a very tough life. My heart was aching for her during and in the aftermath of this show.
