Redmond Police use drone to catch alleged shoplifter
The Drone as a First Responder (DFR) followed the man for more than a mile starting on Northeast 76th Street. The operator relayed his location to officers, which led to an arrest, RPD said.
Drone video posted by RPD shows the man get into his car, drive from the store's parking lot and onto highway 520.
Officers arrested the man without incident and said he had a criminal history of armed robbery.
The Redmond Police Department launched the Drones as First Responders program in April 2024 to, 'improve response times, provide real-time aerial surveillance to patrol units on the ground before they can arrive at an incident,' RPD said on their website.

Redlands police seek additional information on skeletal remains discovered in 2024
Redlands police are hoping to find additional information on the skeletal remains discovered in a field in 2024. The remains were found in a field near Lugonia Avenue and Tennessee Street on Oct. 21, police said in a release. "The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Coroner's Office believes the remains are those of a 24-45 year old female adult, possibly of Hispanic descent," police said. They believe that she had medium length, dark colored hair and was wearing a "Citrus Valley Blackhawks" soccer pullover sweatshirt with a white tank top underneath. The woman also used a catheter, which was found with the remains. Police provided replica images of the tank top and catheter in hopes that someone would be able to help identify the victim that way. Anyone who knows more is asked to contact RPD detectives at (909) 335-4777.

Three people attacked by loose dog at Charlotte Beach
A woman and two children were attacked by a loose dog on Aug. 1 at Charlotte Beach. The Rochester Police Department said officers responded to a report where children had been bitten by a dog. When the officers arrived they found a 6-year old girl, 8-year old boy and a 21-year old woman that had been bitten by a loose dog. The three of them were taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening issues. RPD contacted animal control and have confirmed that Rochester Animal Services are in possession of the two dogs. They both will be completing their quarantine periods in-shelter for the next 10 days. According to the city of Rochester, they do not know if the owner will have any interest in or the ability to reclaim the dogs after the quarantine period. The city also stressed how animals are owned property in New York State, which means that without a judge's order to seize, police are unable to remove a dog from an owner's possession and animal services is not able to deny their reclaim.
