Disgraced former Irish swim coach George Gibney expected in Ireland on Tuesday
The 77-year-old was arrested earlier this month in Florida under an extradition warrant.
Mr Gibney is wanted in Ireland to face 78 counts of indecently assaulting four girls and one count of attempting to rape one of them.
He was the alleged victims' coach and they were aged between eight and 14 at the time, according to the documents filed with a US district court.
It is understood he is to be placed on a flight tonight (Monday) in America, escorted by members of the Garda Extradition Unit attached to the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation (NBCI).
He is due to be formally charged when he arrives in Ireland and brought before Dublin District Court.
He left Ireland more than 30 years ago and has not been back since.
He was arrested in Florida three weeks ago by US Marshals on foot of an Irish extradition warrant,
He was tracked down to a property in Orlando, Florida by the BBC-produced podcast Where is George Gibney as he has been the focus of an investigation by the Garda National Protective Services Bureau.
Gibney coached children with the Trojan swimming club in Dublin in the 1980s and the 1990s.
He was a high-profile sports figure who regularly appeared in Irish media until he was exposed for allegedly sexually abusing children.

Gardaí deploy stinger device in high-speed chase of cocaine-fuelled driver
Gardaí were forced to deploy a stinger device to stop a motorist under the influence of cocaine who took officers on a high-speed chase. In the early hours of Sunday morning, July 27, Gardaí in Donegal attached to the Buncrana Roads Policing Unit were on patrol conducting a crime checkpoint when they stopped one driver in the Bridgend area to do a drugs test. The motorist tested positive for cocaine at the checkpoint, but suddenly took off at speed, driving the car in a 'dangerous manner for a distance' as Gardaí pursued. Quick-thinking officers then deployed a stinger device to bring the car to a stop. Teen boy rushed to hospital in critical condition after being struck by car in late-night crash as Dublin road closed
A TEENAGE boy has been rushed to hospital in a critical condition after being struck by a car in Dublin 22 late last night. The youngster, aged in his late teens, was cycling a bike on the R113, Fonthill Road South in No other injuries were reported as a result of the crash but the cyclist is currently critical in Gardai confirmed this morning that they have launched an investigation into the horror collision. Teen cyclist in critical condition after car collision as Gardai close road
Gardai have issued an appeal for witnesses after a cyclist was left in critical condition following a collision involving a car late last night. Shortly after 11.40pm on Sunday, July 27, Gardai and emergency services responded to reports of a serious road traffic accident in the Clondalkin area of Dublin 22. The collision took place on the R113, Fonthill Road South and involved a bicycle and a car. The cyclist, who is a male aged in his late teens, was rushed to Beaumont Hospital, where his condition has been described as "critical".
