Devices
With the massive hype going around the Google Pixel 10 series launch, many people are already aware of the lineup of phone devices that will be unveiled during the launch. The Pixel 10 lineup for 2025 consists of the base Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold.Besides the phones, the other devices that will also be released are the Pixel Watch 4 in 41mm and 45mm sizes. Plus, there is even some room for a brand new pair of A-series Pixel Buds—the Pixel Buds 2a. Design
As far as the design is concerned, there are not many surprises in store for all those waiting to get their hands on the Google Series 10 phones. The tech giant is expected to continue with the Pixel 9 design for a second year in a row. Colors
Pixel 10 is all set to again feature a number of vibrant finishes. There's the 'Obsidian,' Google's standard black, a vibrant 'Indigo' blue, a muted 'Frost,' and a bold 'Limoncello' green, according to tech news website 9 to 5 Google. Several leaks ahead of the launch suggest that the Pixel 10 Pro models will be available in the same 'Obsidian' black, the familiar 'Porcelain' white, a soft 'Jade' green, and the gray-blue 'Moonstone.'
Specifications
According to a pre-release Pixel 10 Pro handset leak, there are chances that the new Series 10 phones will come with a much-needed storage update. UFS 4.0 seems to be coming, which will help improve overall speed and smoothness. The storage update will help apps, files, and services load faster. On-device processing could also see improvement The base model can carry 12GB RAM, and pro tiers will have 16GB RAM. The base storage is 128GB on the Pixel 10 and 256GB on the Pixel 10 Pro, Pro XL, and Pro Fold, 9to5Google reported.Charging remains mostly unchanged overall, but there's some room for internal battery size increases. The Pixel 10's battery jumps to 4,970 mAh, and the Pixel 10 Pro will have a slightly smaller 4,870 mAh cell. The Pixel 10 XL is expected to come with the largest battery in a Pixel yet at 5,200 mAh. The Fold also gets an upgrade, reportedly featuring a 5,015 mAh battery.
Cameras As far as the cameras are concerned, rumors suggest that there is going to be a greater difference between the base model and all Pro-tier phones. The initial leaks about Google's latest series had suggested that the Pixel 10 will perhaps ditch the big 50MP primary sensor for the smaller Pixel 9a system. That will mean a 48MP primary sensor and a 12MP ultrawide, but the addition of a 10.8MP 5x telephoto could be one grace-saving addition. There are no such major changes on the Pixel 10 Pro line. Pixel 10 Pro/Pro XL and Pixel 10 Pro Fold will come with 50 MP and 48 MP main cameras, respectively. As far as the selfie camera is concerned, Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro Fold are expected to have 10.5 and 10 MP cameras, respectively. But the Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL will carry a 42 MP camera.

Data breach alert: Workday confirms personal data stolen; hackers could access names, emails, and phone numbers
Workday, a major provider of human resources technology, has confirmed a data breach that resulted in the theft of personal information from one of its third-party customer relationship databases. In a blog post published on Friday, the company revealed that hackers accessed an unspecified volume of data, primarily comprising contact details such as names, email addresses, and phone numbers. Workday did not confirm whether any corporate customer information was affected, stating only that there was 'no indication of access to customer tenants or the data within them.' These tenants are typically used by clients to store the bulk of human resources files and employees' personal information. The company warned that the stolen information could be exploited in social engineering attacks, in which cybercriminals manipulate or threaten victims to gain access to sensitive data. According to a TechCrunch report, Workday serves more than 11,000 corporate customers and supports at least 70 million users globally. According to Bleeping Computer, the breach was detected on 6 August. Reportedly, the firm did not disclose the name of the compromised third-party database, but the incident comes amid a series of attacks targeting Salesforce-hosted databases. Recent victims include Google, Cisco, airline Qantas, and jewellery retailer Pandora, all of which suffered data theft from their cloud-based systems. Google confirmed that one of its Salesforce systems used for storing small and medium business contact data was briefly compromised by a cybercriminal group known as UNC6040, which uses voice phishing or 'vishing', to trick employees into handing over access to sensitive tools. The attackers used a social engineering technique, where they impersonated IT support staff during phone calls, convincing employees to authorise malicious software connected to their Salesforce environment. This allowed the group to access and extract basic business contact details, most of which, Google says, were already publicly available, before the breach was detected and stopped. Notably, the group behind the attack, UNC6040, is known for targeting Salesforce platforms by abusing tools like the 'Data Loader' app, a legitimate application that allows bulk data handling. In many cases, the hackers use fake versions of this app with misleading names, such as 'My Ticket Portal,' to avoid detection during the phishing calls.

You can now choose Livemint as your preferred news source on Google
Google is changing the way you consume news online. With its newly launched 'Preferred Sources' feature, the search giant is giving users more control over what shows up in their Top Stories feed. Instead of relying entirely on Google's preset algorithms, you can now pick Livemint as your trusted news outlet that you want to see first. For readers, this means staying updated with content that you already trust and value. For publishers, it opens an opportunity to build stronger, long-term relationships with their audience. As announced in Google's blog post last week, the feature allows users to customise search results by adding their favourite websites and blogs as 'preferred sources.' Once added, stories from these outlets will appear more prominently within the Top Stories carousel whenever they publish fresh and relevant updates on the topic you're searching. Search for any trending topic on Google. In the Top Stories section, tap the new 'sources' icon. Select your preferred websites, such as Live Livemint. Refresh the page, and your chosen sources will now consistently appear in your Top Stories feed. Additionally, a new 'From your sources' section will show up below the Top Stories block, so you can easily discover more content from the outlets you follow. Importantly, there is no limit to the number of sources you can select. With millions of readers turning to Livemint, the publication has built a reputation for credible, fast, and in-depth journalism across business, markets, politics, technology, current affairs, and more. In an era of misinformation and AI-generated noise, relying on trustworthy outlets is crucial. By selecting Livemint as your preferred source, you ensure that you never miss breaking news updates, exclusive interviews, or expert analysis, whether it's about the latest iPhone launch, government policy updates, or global affairs. The feature is currently rolling out in the US and India, two of Google's biggest markets. Over time, it will likely expand to more countries. With Preferred Sources, Google has put the choice back into the hands of the reader. And if you want accuracy, speed, and reliable reporting, adding Live Mint to your preferred list should be your first step.
