TOKYO -- A microsatellite operated by Japanese textile maker Seiren has successfully photographed the Earth's surface in detail, according to the company, which says the technology has potential for environmental applications.
In January, Seiren launched the FUSION-1 satellite, which measures only about 30-centimeters long and 10-cm wide and deep.

(Photo by Yuta Maeda) MASASHI ISAWA TOKYO -- Kawasaki Heavy Industries has teamed with Taiwanese manufacturer Foxconn to develop humanoid robots that are able to perform nursing tasks, with the aim of eventually expanding their use to other sectors. The companies have already developed a nursing robot based on the Japanese company's service robot, Nyokkey. Pilot tests are underway at a hospital in Taiwan, where Foxconn, the world's biggest contract electronics manufacturer, is based.

The investment will be made in Gold Hydrogen, which has discovered natural, or underground, hydrogen in the state of South Australia. The startup aims to mine the hydrogen commercially.
