Disney fans may be unaware, but you can purchase a home in the Disney World park.
As the housing market remains highly competitive, a few homebuyers will be able to own a property in what's been deemed the "happiest place on Earth."
Why It Matters
Americans fled to Florida during the COVID-19 pandemic and started purchasing homes en masse in search of warmer weather and lower cost of living.
While Florida's housing market may be experiencing a correction in the years following the pandemic, many Disney World homes remain high in value for a select group of buyers.

Homes are listed on Realtor.com that allow permanent access to Disney World.
One listing, for 10138 Enchanted Oak Drive Golden Oak, boasts five bedrooms and more than 7,000 square feet at a price of $13 million.
"The charming arched doorways, sumptuous great room with exposed beams, and abundant natural light create an inviting atmosphere. Outdoor amenities include an impressive summer kitchen, expansive pool with sun shelf and spa, and scenic conservation views," the listing reads.
The future homeowners will also enjoy a balcony, private porch and garage space while living at the Golden Oak at Walt Disney World Resort. Golden Oak is a residential resort community where "families can live in the embrace of luxury, privacy and the magic of Disney."
The gated community includes a private clubhouse called Summerhouse as well as membership to Club Life. This means you'll have access to Golden Oak Member Services team, park transportation, signature club events, theme park experiences, Extra Magic Hours and more.
There's also the Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort, which hosts an 18-hole Tranquilo golf course, full-service spa, meeting facilities and several restaurants.
To purchase, you'll need to make a compelling offer for the $13 million listing price and be prepared to fork over $2,830 monthly in HOA fees.
Disney started planning a community geared for the "ultra rich" about 15 years ago, nationwide title and escrow expert Alan Chang said.
"[It's] definitely not for the average American as these properties start in the low millions and only go up from there," Chang told Newsweek.
Newsweek reached out to Disney for comment via email.
What People Are Saying
Nationwide title and escrow expert Alan Chang told Newsweek: "Just the membership fees and dues could total more than most American mortgage payments. For people with too much money, this may be a path to get rid of some excess funds rather quickly."
Alex Beene, a financial literacy instructor for the University of Tennessee at Martin, told Newsweek: "Purchasing a home inside the Disney World property in Orlando may be seen as the 'Holy Grail' to some Disney fans, but obviously for the vast majority of potential home buyers, the prospect will remain a fantasy. The average house cost at Golden Oak, the neighborhood on Disney's property, is well into the millions, and even if you could afford the price, you also would have to pay out tens of thousands of dollars a year in HOA and membership fees for the privilege of living in the 'Happiest Place on Earth.'"
What Happens Next
For most Americans, the cost of home ownership in Disney World remains far out of reach.
However, for Disney fans who have access to a significant amount of money, the price might be right to be close to all the Disney action on a routine basis.
"Clearly, these properties are only for the super-wealthy with a real love for the Disney Parks, but that select group can undoubtedly keep these costs high and the reputation of the community a prominent one," Beene said.

Suze Orman Urges Americans To Take A Break This Summer — Even If They Can't Afford To Travel
As inflation continues to pinch household budgets, many Americans are putting summer vacations on hold. But personal finance expert Suze Orman is urging people to take a different approach — one that prioritizes rest and rejuvenation, even if traditional travel isn't in the cards. According to a Bankrate survey, just 46% of Americans plan to travel this summer, down from previous years. Among those who aren't traveling, the vast majority — 65% — say they simply can't afford it. The rising cost of everyday expenses like groceries, gas, and housing is taking precedence over optional spending, like vacations. Don't Miss: Maker of the $60,000 foldable home has 3 factory buildings, 600+ houses built, and big plans to solve housing — Inspired by Uber and Airbnb – Deloitte's fastest-growing software company is transforming 7 billion smartphones into income-generating assets – Another 24% of Americans say they don't plan to take a vacation at all this summer — not even a staycation. And nearly 1 in 4 survey respondents said they were still undecided, a noticeable increase from last year. Orman recognizes the financial reality many families are facing. "I applaud you for not booking a getaway if you are worried about the financial cost," she writes in a recent blog post. But she also warns against skipping vacation altogether. "It's important to relax and recharge a bit," she adds, noting that failing to take time off can lead to long-term burnout. Americans are known for underutilizing their paid time off. Orman points to research showing that about half of U.S. workers don't use all their vacation days — a missed opportunity, she says, for much-needed rest and family connection. Trending: Invest where it hurts — and help millions heal:. You don't need to board a plane or book a hotel to enjoy a break. Orman encourages Americans to rethink what vacation looks like and consider a staycation instead. "I was surprised to see in the same survey that just 10% of respondents are planning time off that they will spend at home," she notes. A staycation, she says, can be just as fulfilling as a traditional vacation — especially if it's thoughtfully planned. She recommends unplugging from work, indulging in small luxuries, tackling a fun home project, or exploring nearby attractions you've never visited. Even assigning each family member a day to plan can turn a week off into a shared adventure. "The one non-negotiable," Orman writes, "is that everyone has to buy into the person's vision for that day."Skipping a pricey vacation doesn't mean skipping self-care. "Making the decision not to overspend on a vacation right now is such a strong stand-in-your-truth act of financial responsibility," Orman says. But she's equally adamant that "you deserve to take time off and enjoy yourself." Whether you spend your summer break in your backyard or exploring a nearby park, the point is to step away from the daily grind. Orman's primary message to Americans this summer? More Eric Charbonneau/Warner Bros. via Getty Images During an appearance on "The Kelly Clarkson Show," Brosnahan made it known that she felt comfortable speaking about spoilers because of Gunn, although she still didn't want anyone to "Tom Holland" her. Still, Brosnahan used this as an opportunity to speak more about Lois Lane and Clark Kent's relationship and how it has already been established. More Entertainment: James Gunn Reacts to Rumors 'The Batman 2' Is Canceled "So James didn't want to do the same origin story that we're so familiar with," Brosnahan said. "Where Superman and Lois don't know each other. Where she's kind of investigating him. "So we start with them already established in the world. Clark is a journalist at The Daily Planet. And, you know, there's some love in the air. They're at the point in their relationship where they're trying to figure out if this was just a fling or if this is a forever thing." "And they're really really different," Brosnahan continued. "They have totally opposite worldviews. She's somebody who prides herself on being ten steps ahead of everyone at any given moment. And he's somebody who's radically present and in the moment. "And that can be, you know, they butt up against each other sometimes. They have really different views of how to solve problems. And so they're working it out in real time when we meet them in this movie." More Entertainment: Robert Downey Jr. Surprises 'Ironheart' Stars with Interview Appearance This echoed what Brosnahan told Nick Romano of EW on June 10, noting that despite their differences, Superman and Lois Lane are perfect partners, besides being at odds with each other, especially in the interview scene that can be seen in the trailer. "It's a combination of them both clicking into, in some ways, their super alter egos, "but that's also juxtaposed with their great love for each other," Brosnahan said. "I don't know if she would call it that quite yet, but they care about each other. Dial S for Super! They both feel very strongly about the stance that they're taking in that scene. "It's one of the things that I love about their love story. While they have totally opposite worldviews, they complete each other, and they kind of need each other." "Superman" will hit theaters on July 11, 2025. Joe Locke Heartstopper Movie Tease
Joe Locke has had arguably one of the biggest young careers in recent years. Joe's very first acting projects have been Netflix's Heartstopper, where he stars as Charlie Spring, and then he followed it up with Marvel's Agatha All Along, playing Wanda Maximoff's son, Billy. So, to celebrate Agatha All Along, Heartstopper, his Broadway debut in Sweeney Todd, and so much more, we caught up with Joe to talk about everything in a game of First Times. He recalled his first — of MANY — auditions for Marvel, with the first audition including reading the scene when Agatha (Kathryn Hahn) interrogates Billy in Episode 1. Joe also revealed that a lot of Heartstopper is actually improvised, saying, "There's a lot of montages and so, in the script it'll just be like, 'Nick and Charlie play in the snow.' A lot of it is improv. I am not the best at improv. I'm great at improv if I'm, like, not being so nice to someone because it's easier. But, like, Heartstopper improv is a lot of cushy, nice stuff, so Kit is far better at that than me, so he leads it often." And he even teased the upcoming Heartstopper movie, which will be the final installment. He told us, "It is grown up more. But it's still Heartstopper. I think we're trying to really make it [as] cinematic as possible and really finish the story in a really nice way." And heck, we even had time to ask some questions not related to Joe's impeccable acting career so far, like who his first celebrity crush was. You can watch Joe's full First Times video, where he even recalls taking Patti LuPone to a gay bar, and more, below: And be sure to watch him in Agatha All Along and Heartstopper, with each streaming on Disney+ and Netflix now.
