Kamal Kaur, the Punjabi influencer found dead in a car on Wednesday night, had received threats from Canada-based Khalistani terrorist Arsh Dalla last year. Kaur's body was discovered in a car near Adesh Medical University in Bathinda on June 11, 2025. The shocking discovery was made after locals complained of a foul smell emanating from the parked car.
Kamal Kaur was a Ludhiana-based influencer with more than 3.84 lakh followers on Instagram. She was known for her funny social media videos, although she had faced some criticism for using foul language.
Kaur's real name was Kanchan Kumari. She was believed to be in her mid-30s.
Police are treating her death like a case of murder. Preliminary investigation suggests that she was murdered somewhere else and her body was dumped in a car.

Kaur had received threats from Canada-based gangster Arsh Dalla last year for posting 'inapproporiate' content.
In an audio recording reported by News18 Punjab in October 2024, Arsh Dalla was heard saying that Kamal Kaur spreads filth on social media. The gangster then threatened to kill one of her family members unless she removed her videos.
Arshdeep Singh Gill, alias Arsh Dalla, is a designated terrorist in India and an aide of slain Khalistan separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada.
A native of Dala village in Moga district, he faces 58 narco-terror cases in Punjab. Dalla fled India and moved to Canada in 2018.
According to Punjab Police, he got married to a Canadian citizen in 2018. The couple has a daughter together. Dalla's mother continues to live in the Punjab village where he grew up.

HC urges vigil against exploitation of devotees through fake websites, social media accounts
Kochi: HC has directed the chief vigilance officer of the Cochin Devaswom Board (CDB) to maintain constant vigil against the exploitation of devotees through fake websites, Instagram accounts and similar platforms that misuse the names of temples for online pooja bookings, donations and related services. The court observed that the perpetrators behind such fraudulent platforms must be proceeded against in accordance with law by lodging appropriate complaints before the station house officer of the concerned police station. The court was considering a petition by C Devidas and three other devotees of the Tripunithura Poornathrayeesa Temple seeking immediate action to remove various fake 'official' Instagram and other social media accounts operating in the name of Poornathrayeesa Temple and other temples under CDB. The court further directed the CDB to take necessary steps to provide facilities for online pooja bookings, donations and similar services in respect of all major temples under its management, if such provisions are not already in place, for the convenience of devotees. Kerala jeweller, aide carjacked on Salem – Kochi highway near Coimbatore; robbed of 1.25 kg gold
In yet another case of highway robbery on NH 544 (Salem – Kochi Highway), a Kerala-based jeweller and his aide were carjacked and robbed of 1.25 kg of gold at K.G. Chavadi near Coimbatore on Saturday morning. The highway robbers, who reportedly conversed in Malayalam, also took away ₹60,000 carried by the jeweller, Jaison Jacob, 55, of Thrissur. The incident took place around 5.45 a.m. at K.G. Chavadi when Mr. Jacob and his employee S. Vishnu were heading to Thrissur in a car. The duo earlier arrived at the Coimbatore Railway Station by train from Chennai, after purchasing gold, and drove towards Palakkad en route for their return journey to Thrissur. According to the police, the robbers struck at the car travelled by Mr. Jacob and Mr. Vishnu when they reached near a fuel station at K.G. Chavadi. A truck waylaid their car and a few men, who tailed the duo on another vehicle, approached the car. When Mr. Jacob and Mr. Vishnu refused to open the doors, the men broke a door glass. They subsequently got into the car and one of them drove it. The men took the gold and cash from the car, before ousting Mr. Jacob and Mr. Vishnu, after travelling for some distance, said the police. The police suspect that the robbers escaped to Kerala through another route via Velanthavalam. Meanwhile, Mr. Jacob approached the K.G. Chavadi police and sought their help. Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police K. Karthikeyan visited the scene of crime and constituted special teams to trace the robbers. He said that five persons are suspected to have been involved in the robbery. 'The police have got some strong leads on the robbers and will be arresting them soon. The truck has been located,' he told The Hindu. Several incidents of highway robberies have taken place in the Tamil Nadu side of NH 544 close to Kerala border in the past.

CBI books Supertech, its promoter RK Arora for cheating IDBI Bank of ₹126.07 crore
The Central Bureau of Investigation has filed an FIR against Noida-based real estate developer Supertech, its promoter RK Arora and others for allegedly cheating IDBI Bank to the tune of ₹ 126.07 crore, officials said on Saturday. Alongside Arora, the construction firm's whole-time directors Sangita Arora, Mohit Arora, Parul Arora, Vikas Kansal, Pradeep Kumar, Anil Kumar Sharma, and Anil Kumar Jain were named in the FIR, apart from the company itself, according to the officials. Officials of the CBI on Saturday conducted coordinated search operations in five locations linked to the accused persons. Searches were conducted at official and residential premises in Noida and Ghaziabad in connection with the case. During the raids, agency officials seized cash amounting to ₹ 28.5 lakh, CBI's spokesperson said in a statement. The case was initiated following a complaint from IDBI Bank, which alleged that the accused had conspired to misappropriate sanctioned loan funds through fraudulent means. According to the FIR, the bank alleged that the company and its directors submitted forged documents to secure credit facilities under false pretenses. The loan account was subsequently declared a wilful default and categorised as fraudulent, allegedly resulting in wrongful losses totalling ₹ 126.07 crore to IDBI Bank Ltd., the CBI said. Observing an 'unholy' nexus between the banks and developers, the Supreme Court in April had directed the CBI to register a preliminary inquiry into projects of realty major Supertech Limited in NCR. A bench of Justices Surya Kant and N Kotiswar Singh took into account an affidavit filed by CBI and directed the UP, Haryana DGPs to give a list of DSPs, inspector, constables to the agency to constitute a special investigation team (SIT). The top court further directed the CEOs/administrators of Greater Noida Authority, Noida Authority, secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and RBI to notify one nodal officer from among their senior-most officers within a week to extend necessary assistance to the SIT. The apex court previously said thousands of homebuyers were affected by the subvention scheme, where banks paid 60 to 70 per cent of the home loan amount to the builders without projects being completed within the stipulated time. The apex court had then ordered the CBI to submit a roadmap on how it planned to unravel the "builder-banks nexus" which duped thousands of homebuyers in the NCR and proposed to go into the root of the matter.
