truTV And HBO Max To Air 19 Savannah Bananas Games This Summer And Fall
Banana Ball is coming to your sports television schedule courtesy of TNT Sports with a total of 19 games airing this summer and fall on truTV and HBO Max.
Starting Saturday, Aug 16, the always entertaining Savannah Bananas continue their tour of MLB ballparks as they play The Firefighters at Rate Field, home of the Chicago White Sox, airing at 8 pm E.T. on truTV and simulcast on HBO Max.
For eight consecutive weekends, Banana Ball coverage will see stops at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Petco Park in San Diego, Yankee Stadium in The Bronx, T-Mobile Park in Seattle, and Daikin Park in Houston, along with a weekend series from Grayson Stadium, the Savannah Bananas' home stadium.
As part of the coverage, TNT Sports will air the first-ever Tour Championship in early October which highlights a multi-day tournament featuring four teams. The winner will be decided in the title game on Saturday, October 11.
The Savannah Bananas play a unique version of baseball called 'Banana Ball'. Similar to the Harlem Globetrotters, Banana Ball features over-the-top showmanship and fan participation, where players engage in dance routines, comedic sketches, and other performances between and often during the game.

'House of the Dragon' season 3 will be 'goddamn huge,' showrunner teases
We're used to Westeros going big, but "House of the Dragon" season 3 will be "massive," per a new production update from series creator Ryan Condal. When the "Game of Thrones" prequel series returns on HBO and HBO Max sometime in 2026, viewers will be thrown in the middle of a massive civil war between two opposing factions inside House Targaryen: Team Black (the contingent that supports Rhaenyra Targaryen as heir to the crown) versus Team Green (those that back her half-brother Aegon II Targaryen's claim to the Iron Throne). With on-location filming officially wrapped in Wales (the production will now move to in-studio sets in the U.K.), Condal gave an anticipated update on season 3 during a July 2025 episode of his podcast "The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of" with co-host David Mandel. "We're right in the middle of production. We've wrapped Wales, we're moving on to some huge things now that we've got going at the studio and then other locations that we're working on, so we've moved into that part of the schedule," Condal shared. "It gets pretty nuts here through July and August. So I will be rushing off to set tomorrow to do the beginning of some insane things that we're doing this month." He continued, "But yeah, we're right in the middle in the thick of it, and it's going great. I mean, the season is just goddamn huge. Report: 'Stuff in works' to prevent or deter Rory McIlroy, others from skipping playoff events
Rory McIlroy is the only absence from this week's 70-man FedEx St. Jude Championship, the PGA Tour's playoff opener at TPC Southwind in Memphis. McIlroy, at second in points behind Scottie Scheffler, is already guaranteed to qualify for both the BMW Championship and Tour Championship. And though the top 30 players in points after the BMW are paid out of the FedExCup bonus pool, McIlroy has a nearly 900,000-point cushion on No. 3 Sepp Straka while he's over 1.3 million points shy of Scheffler. In other words, McIlroy skipping one playoff event shouldn't affect his standing too much, if at all. Plus, he already collected $10 million in bonuses on Sunday. Points also are meaningless once players arrive at East Lake, which has been reverted to traditional, 30-man stroke play. But is this what the Tour wants – its stars opting not to appear in playoff events? Peter Malnati, a player director on the Tour's policy board, told Golfweek that he's 'very concerned' about McIlroy's opt-out of Memphis. Malnati also hinted at a potential rule change, which would require qualified players to compete in playoff events. McIlroy isn't the only player to skip such an event over the year; Tiger Woods did just that for the inaugural playoff event in 2007. 'I think there is stuff in the works, and I'll leave it at that,' Malnati told Golfweek. Added Jordan Spieth, a former player director, in the same report: 'You might have 1-2 guys do that for an event, but I don't think it will become a thing because they are still huge events against the best players in the world. I think they're trying to figure out how to make sure you don't skip both of them and ideally neither of them.' The winners of the FedEx St. Jude and BMW receive 2,000 points apiece, compared to 750 for majors, 700 for signature events, 500 for regular full-field events and 300 for additional events. If No. 70 Matti Schmid were to win Sunday in Memphis, he could move all the way to third in points.
