Moroccan Artist Idrissi Revives Nu-Metal in New EP ‘Realm of Dreams'

Moroccan artist, producer and songwriter Idrissi has released 'Season of Mists', the first act of his three-part EP, 'Realm of Dreams'. The project introduces the story of the King of Dreams, a figure who can shape dreams for others but is unable to experience them himself - a reflection of Idrissi's own artistic journey, where the act of creation feels detached from the experience it provides to listeners.
Musically, 'Season of Mists' blends nu-metal and rock, two genres that have become less prominent in Morocco's rap-dominated scene. Influenced by bands like Evanescence and Porcupine Tree, Idrissi revisits the sounds that shaped his early musical identity while adding his own perspective. The two-track EP features Moroccan artists Malket and Seina, giving a platform to voices that remain underrated despite their talent.
With 'Season of Mists', Idrissi offers both a personal exploration and an effort to reintroduce a sound that once resonated deeply with listeners seeking raw, expressive music.

Sherine to Conclude 20th Mawazine Festival
Yara Sameh Egyptian superstar, Sherine Abdel-Wahab will conclude this year's Mawazine Festival. Mawazine is a Moroccan international music festival that began in 2001 and is hosting its 20th edition this year. As one of the largest music festivals in the world, Mawazine attracts more than 2.5 million attendees each year. This year's Mawazine festival is scheduled to be held from June 20 to 28 in Rabat, Morocco. Sherine is set to perform at the festival's stage, Nahda, on June 28. She is set to present several of her popular and latest songs. Born on October 8, 1980, Sherine Sayed Mohamed Abdel Wahab, known professionally as simply Sherine, is a singer, actress and music judge. She was first discovered as a child by her school music teacher, who convinced her mother to take her to the Cairo Opera House to meet veteran musician Selim Sahab. Abdel-Wahab served as a choral member at the Cairo Opera House from the age of nine to twelve and was then given a chance to become a solo singer. She kept performing at the Cairo Opera House while searching for a music producer to launch her music career. At the age of 18, Abdel-Wahab was introduced to director and music producer Nasr Mahrous, who liked her voice and decided to collaborate with her via his 'Free Music' production company, where she met with superstar, Tamer Hosny, who was also a new talent-seeking opportunity. Her first recorded song was released in 2002 as a part of an album that included works of other artists. The album was released, under the title 'Free Mix3: Tamer and Sherine' and was a big hit all across the entire Middle East and North Africa. "The Sandman" to End with Extra Episode
Yara Sameh Netflix's adaptation of Neil Gaiman's ' The Sandman ' is still ending with Season 2, but fans will get one more episode than they believed. The giant streamer revealed on Tuesday that, in addition to the 11 episodes already announced, a bonus twelfth episode will be released on July 31. The bonus episode is titled 'The Sandman Presents: Death: The High Cost of Living' and will focus on the character Death (Kirby Howell-Baptiste). As previously announced, the first six episodes of Season 2 will premiere on July 3, with the next five premiering on July 24. Netflix has also revealed the 11 titles for those episodes, which can be seen below. Season 2 will bring several fan-favorite storylines from the comics to life, including the 'Season of Mists,' 'Brief Lives,' 'The Kindly Ones,' and 'The Sandman: Overture' collections. The season will also include single-issue stories such as 'Tales in the Sand,' 'A Midsummer Night's Dream,' 'The Song of Orpheus,' 'Thermidor,' and 'The Tempest,' among others. Per the description for the second and final chapter of 'The Sandman,' 'After a fateful reunion with his family, Dream of the Endless (Tom Sturridge) must face one impossible decision after another as he attempts to save himself, his kingdom, and the waking world from the epic fallout of his past misdeeds. To make amends, Dream must confront longtime friends and foes, gods, monsters, and mortals. But the path to forgiveness is full of unexpected twists and turns, and true absolution may cost Dream everything. Based on the beloved award-winning DC comic series, the second season of 'The Sandman' will tell Dream's story arc in full to its thrilling conclusion.' The cast for Season 2 also includes Mason Alexander Park, Donna Preston, Esmé Creed-Miles, Adrian Lester, Barry Sloane, Patton Oswalt, Vivienne Acheampong, Gwendoline Christie, Jenna Coleman, Ferdinand Kingsley, Stephen Fry, Asim Chaudhry, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Razane Jammal, Ruairi O'Connor, Freddie Fox, Clive Russell, Laurence O'Fuarain, Ann Skelly, Douglas Booth, Jack Gleeson, Indya Moore, and Steve Coogan. Netflix and 'The Sandman' showrunner Allan Heinberg had plotted the second season to be the final since before it was filmed in the summer of 2023. However, the streamer did not confirm the end of the show until January of this year, which coincided with the timing of sexual misconduct accusations leveled against 'The Sandman' graphic novel author and series executive producer Neil Gaiman.
