If you're going to make a rock biopic and you need to cast the frontman, you may as well get a singer to play a singer. Deadline reports that's exactly what's happened with the upcoming biopic of the glam rock band KISS.
Nick Jonas of Jonas Brothers fame has been cast as KISS frontman Paul Stanley in the upcoming biopic about the band, "Shout It Out Loud". The film is directed by McG from a script by Darren Lemke.
McG is best remembered as the director of the 2003 sequel "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" and 2009's "Terminator Salvation".

"Shout It Out Loud" is scheduled to go into production either by the end of this year or early in 2026.

The site also reports that McG is getting close to finding a star who can play perhaps the most famous member of KISS, Gene Simmons.
While KISS is a four-man group, Stanley and Simmons have been the only consistent members over the years, with the rest of the lineup changing a number of times since the band's formation in the seventies.
First getting together in 1973, KISS is less known for its music and better remembered for its theatrics. Their performances were known for their pyrotechnics, fire breathing, blood spitting, levitating drum kits, and more.
The band members wear face paint and take on the roles of fantastic characters like Starchild (Stanley) and The Demon (Simmons).
In fact, along with their onstage personas, the band has appeared in comic books for decades in stories that portray them not only as a rock band but as saviors of the world.
The most recent comic was Dynamite Entertainment's "KISS: Phantom Obsession". They've also crossed over with numerous other properties such as "Vampirella" and "Army of Darkness".
Musically, the band is best known for power anthems like "Rock and Roll All Nite". They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.

Harry Potter actor talks about shooting DC superhero show in Savannah

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Actor Freddie Stroma's latest role as the unhinged superhero Vigilante in HBO's Peacemaker may not get him recognized on the street much. That's because his costume covers his face for much of his screentime. But once the mask comes off, you may remember him as Cormac McLaggen in the Harry Potter movies or Luke in Pitch Perfect. Stroma was in town for Epic Cons: Savannah Friday to meet and greet fans. But it wasn't his first visit to the Hostess City. Back in November, the cast of Peacemaker was in the Coastal Empire to shoot part of season 2. Star John Cena was spotted at Leopold's Ice cream and director James Gunn stopped by Odin & Sons Comics and Collectibles. When WSAV News 3 caught up with Stroma at Epic Cons: Savannah, we asked him if he was part of the Savannah production. 'I wasn't filming myself, but I came down anyway. It was amazing. I don't think I can say much, but we had a really good time. I think James [Gunn] is quoted as saying it was the best day of filming he's ever had. I had a great time just checking out Savannah. It's beautiful.' Star of Gilmore Girls reminisces about playing baseball in Savannah And while he spoke to WSAV, Stroma said Gunn shot some of the new Superman movie in Savannah as well. WSAV News 3 asked the Savannah Film Commission to confirm, and they told us that some pickup shots for the movie were done here but it's uncertain whether any of them will be in the final cut. Let WSAV know if you see any Savannah shots when the movie premiers on July 11! Stroma wasn't able to divulge any secrets from season 2 of Peacemaker either. But he did offer this: '[You'll see] a lot of high jinks and a lot of lunacy.' Season 2 of Peacemaker premieres August 21 on HBO. Epic Cons: Savannah continues through Sunday. Get your tickets here. WBD Shareholders Nix David Zaslav's 2024 Pay Package In Non-Binding Vote

Shareholders at Warner Bros. Discovery gave a thumbs down to the company's executive compensation for 2024 — multi-million dollar paydays led by CEO David Zaslav's $51.9 million package. The vote, informally called say-on-pay, is required at publicly traded companies but nonetheless non-binding. Boards of directors insist that they take the votes to heart and if there's dissent engage seriously with their biggest shareholders, and that is sometimes the case. At Warner Bros. Discovery, however, Zaslav's pay has been in the spotlight for years, including on the picket lines during the recent Hollywood strikes. Rowling Says & More Media CEO Pay Defied Gravity In 2024: Would They Ever Work For Less? David Zaslav Package "Triple-A" As WBD Debt Downgraded To Junk S&P Downgrades Warner Bros. Discovery To Junk Status On "Weak Credit Metrics" That Would Get Worse If Company Splits Stockholders at the company's annual meeting declined to approve, 'on a non-binding, advisory basis, the 2024 compensation of the Company's named executive officers,' WBD noted in an SEC filing with the result of votes cast showing that 59% of shareholders who cast ballots voted against WBD's pay plans. The general rule of thumb is that support less than 70% is notable. Waner Bros. Discovery stock has floundered since the merger three years ago, which burdened the company with debt. Credit ratings agency S&P last month downgraded it to junk status citing 'weak credit metrics.' It's not just that. Pay experts noted that members of the board's compensation committee decided to adjust the metrics they themselves set in order to pay the chief executive more. Public companies report the pay of their top five highest paid executive officers in annual proxy statements filed with the SEC each spring for the previous year (if they operate on a calendar year). Pay is one of a handful of items along with the election of directors and shareholder resolutions that stockholders vote on at annual meetings. Leading proxy advisory firm Institutional Shareholder Services, which puts out highly reseached reports each year ahead of annual meetings to guide shareholders, recommended voting against WBD's executive pay and said the 'compensation committee demonstrated only limited responsiveness to shareholder concerns following consecutive years of low say-on-pay support.' In a statement today, Warner Bros. Discovery's Board of Directors said it 'appreciates the views of all its shareholders and takes the results of the annual advisory vote on executive compensation seriously. The Compensation Committee of the Board looks forward to continuing its regular practice of engaging in constructive dialogue with our shareholders.'
