According to Maryam Majid Al Shamsi, Director of the Branches Sector at SSSD, the 'Respect for Parents Ambassadors' programme is designed to raise awareness among children about the importance of honouring one's parents. It encourages children to take active roles in organising events and awareness sessions that target families—specifically parents and caregivers—through knowledge-based and media-supported engagement. These initiatives are implemented in partnership with key stakeholders across the emirate.
Al Shamsi highlighted the programme's multifaceted goals, including fostering a generation that is socially aware, emotionally connected to their families, and equipped to contribute meaningfully to society. Al Shamsi praised the department's strategic vision for expanding the 'Awareness Ambassadors' initiative, noting that several future modules are already in development. Among them is the 'Ambassadors of Protection' module, which will teach children how to identify and avoid various forms of abuse. Another upcoming component, 'Ambassadors of Volunteering,' aims to instill a culture of volunteerism and community service in children from an early age.
These future initiatives are considered a natural extension of the department's evolving awareness strategy, reinforcing its commitment to nurturing a well-informed and socially responsible generation.

"University Student' and "Volunteer Knight' awards The "University Student' award for the highest volunteer participation targets university students aged 17 to 25 who are not employed. Volunteer work completed during the year of participation, totaling more than 100 hours, must be documented on official volunteer platforms. Al Shamsi commended the efforts of university students who devote significant time and effort to volunteer work despite their academic commitments. She commended the initiatives of some public and private universities that have adopted volunteer hours as part of their graduation requirements. Fruit of a profound strategic vision Al Shamsi said that this new establishment did not come about suddenly. Rather, it is the fruit of a profound strategic vision led by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, and embodied on the ground by the unlimited support and diligent follow-up of his wife, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Family and Community, who has for decades set her sights on protecting individuals and families, preserving values, strengthening a sense of belonging, and building generations capable of continuing the journey. Al Shamsi added that Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher expressed Sharjah's philosophy of social development when she likened the family to a seed that needs clean soil and constant care to grow and bear fruit. His Excellency Mubarak Rashid Al Shamsi, Director of Al Hamriyah Municipality, affirmed that the municipality's participation in the "Our Holiday is Different" programme to manage summer activities at Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club embodies the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to support generations and enhance the role of government institutions in serving the community. Youth welfare Al Shamsi noted that the municipality places youth welfare and building a stimulating educational and recreational environment among its strategic priorities for the Year of Community. This came during Al Shamsi's inspection visit, which took place on Thursday to the summer programme activities held at Al Hamriyah Club under the supervision of the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC). Closing and honouring Al Shamsi reviewed the results of the municipality's participation in the programme and witnessed part of the closing ceremony of the fourth week, which included a review of the most prominent activities, and distinguished participants were honoured amidst an atmosphere of enthusiasm and strong parental engagement.
