2025 NBA summer league: Final Houston Rockets statistics in Las Vegas
The NBA's 2025 summer league is now complete in Las Vegas, and that means all 30 of the league's teams are entering the quiet part of the offseason.
With the NBA's annual draft, initial free agency window, and summer league all in the books, activity is likely to be minimal until training camps for the 2025-26 season open around October 1.
The Houston Rockets went 1-4 in five games at summer league, though they did win their finale versus the Minnesota Timberwolves. Second-year guard Reed Sheppard was the roster headliner, but he only played in two games while dealing with mild calf soreness.
For Houston, summer-league players who are currently in line to participate at training camp include Sheppard (standard contract), center N'Faly Dante (two-way qualifying offer), forward Kevon Harris (two-way contract), and forward Cameron Matthews (Exhibit 10 training-camp deal). Other players from summer league could be added via similar Exhibit 10 deals, if desired.

Kennedy Chandler
Chandler is a 6-foot-0, 171-pound guard from Tennessee with one year of NBA experience. He is 22 years old.
Adonis Arms
A 6-foot-6, 205-pound guard, Arms is an NBA rookie. The Texas Tech product is 27 years old.
Kevon Harris
Harris is a 6-foot-6, 220-pound guard from Stephen F. Austin. He is 28 years old and has two previous years of NBA experience.
Nate Williams
Williams is a 6-foot-5, 205-pound guard/forward out of Buffalo. He has three past years of NBA experience and is 26 years old.
Jermaine Samuels Jr.
Samuels is a 6-foot-7, 230-pound forward out of Villanova. He is 26 years old with one past season of NBA experience.
Great Osobor

Jonas Valanciunas confirms he will play for Denver this season
Jonas Valanciunas' flirtation with Greek powerhouse Panathinaikos was real and they reportedly were willing to offer three years, $13 million (one of the largest contracts on the continent). After Denver made the trade to acquire the veteran center from Lithuania, general manager Ben Tenzer said he spoke with Valanciunas and his representatives, stating that they wanted him to play with them this season and that there was no intention to buy him out. (For Valanciunas to play in Greece next season would have required Denver to agree to a buyout to make him a free agent, FIBA rules do not permit a player under contract in one league to just sign a contract with another.) Valanciunas is critical to Denver's plans next season, which is why there was never a plan to buy him out of his contract. For a number of years — including during their championship run in 2023 — the Nuggets have fallen off sharply in the minutes Jokic was off the court. Last season, the Nuggets had a -8.5 net rating in the non-Jokic minutes, and in the 2023 championship season, it was even worse, at -9.9. Valanciunas helps change that because he is a skilled big man who can serve as the hub of an offense, executing dribble handoffs while midrange shots (inside 15 feet). Paired with Peyton Watson, Tim Hardaway Jr., Bruce Brown, and the emerging Julian Strawther, the Nuggets have real depth for a change.

Chris Paul returns to Clippers for what's expected to be his 21st and final NBA season
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Chris Paul is rejoining the Los Angeles Clippers for what's expected to be the point guard's 21st and final NBA season. The team confirmed Monday afternoon that Paul had signed. The 12-time All-Star was a free agent after playing all 82 games for the San Antonio Spurs last season, becoming the first NBA player to do so in his 20th season or later. He averaged 8.8 points and 7.4 assists while shooting 43% from the floor. Paul had stated that he wanted to play the upcoming season close to his family, which lives in Los Angeles. He joins a veteran roster that includes new additions guard Bradley Beal, forward John Collins and center Brook Lopez, as well as Kawhi Leonard, James Harden and Bogdan Bogdanovic. Paul played six seasons for the Clippers during their 'Lob City' era with Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan. He made five All-Star teams from 2012 to 2017 and his 4,023 assists are still the most in franchise history. Paul left the Clippers for the Houston Rockets in 2017 because he felt it was time for a change and he wanted to compete for a championship with Harden. Lawrence Frank, Clippers president of basketball operations, said Saturday that the team was 'strongly considering' signing Paul to join a crowded guard rotation of Harden, Beal, Bogdanovic and Kris Dunn. Paul is expected to come off the bench. 'When you look at it, you have 10 quality rotation players right now. We typically play nine. What we've seen is the problem of potentially having too many guys and how that can impact the team,' Frank said.
