2025 NBA summer league: Final Houston Rockets statistics in Las Vegas

With Reed Sheppard, Kennedy Chandler, Kevon Harris, and Adonis Arms in featured roles, Houston's run at the NBA's 2025 summer league is now complete. The NBA's 2025 summer league is now complete in Las Vegas, and that means all 30 of the league's teams are entering the quiet part of the offseason. With the NBA's annual draft, initial free agency window, and summer league all in the books, activity is likely to be minimal until training camps for the 2025-26 season open around October 1. The Houston Rockets went 1-4 in five games at summer league, though they did win their finale versus the Minnesota Timberwolves. Second-year guard Reed Sheppard was the roster headliner, but he only played in two games while dealing with mild calf soreness. For Houston, summer-league players who are currently in line to participate at training camp include Sheppard (standard contract), center N'Faly Dante (two-way qualifying offer), forward Kevon Harris (two-way contract), and forward Cameron Matthews (Exhibit 10 training-camp deal). Other players from summer league could be added via similar Exhibit 10 deals, if desired. Rockets 104, Wolves 101: As summer league ends, two-way wing Kevon Harris sparks first win

Two-way guard Kevon Harris (18 points, 6 assists, 4 steals) was excellent versus Minnesota as Houston secured its first summer-league win of 2025. The Houston Rockets wrapped up their stint at the NBA's 2025 summer league with Saturday's 104-101 victory (box score) over the Minnesota Timberwolves. It was the first summer-league loss for Minnesota (4-1) and the initial win for Houston (1-4). Heading into Las Vegas, the Timberwolves' summer roster featured more players with either proven NBA experience or perceived upside. Making matters worse, Houston was again short-handed, with second-year guard Reed Sheppard and two-way center N'Faly Dante sidelined by minor injuries. Yet, led by a strong showing from two-way guard Kevon Harris, the remaining Rockets fought back from a 17-point deficit to eventually grab a feel-good victory. From Saturday's game, statistical lines of note included: Houston's aggressive defense forced Minnesota into 22 turnovers for the game, with 11 of those coming on steals by Harris, Wilson, and Arms. Statistical averages for the entirety of summer league are available here. Game Highlights Rockets' 2025 Summer League Results What's Next Training camps for the 2025-26 NBA season opens around October 1. Rockets signing former Magic wing Kevon Harris to two-way contract

With a two-way contract slot available after not tendering a two-way qualifying offer to Jack McVeigh, the Houston Rockets are reportedly signing Kevon Harris to the open spot. 'Harris was G League Next Up Game MVP and signed a 10-day deal with the Atlanta Hawks last season,' said HoopsHype's Michael Scotto, who broke the news. 'He averaged 19.8 points and 7.1 rebounds in the G League.' Advertisement The two-way deal will allow Harris to go back and forth next season between the Rockets and Houston's NBA G League affiliate, the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) Vipers. Harris is a 6-foot-5, 216-pound wing player who played in college at Stephen F. Austin. Known for his hustle and athleticism, Harris went undrafted in 2020 but worked his way into the NBA by the 2022-23 season. In 34 games with the Orlando Magic, he averaged 4.1 points (43.9% FG, 37.2% on 3-pointers) and 2.1 rebounds in 13.4 minutes. Now 28 years old, Harris has played in the G League during at least a portion of all five years since his college career ended. During that time, he has steadily improved as a shooter, as evidenced by his 40.2% clip from 3-point range last season on 5.8 attempts per game. Over Harris' first two G League seasons (2020-21 and 2021-22), he shot approximately 34% from deep. In contrast to McVeigh, the Rockets did issue a two-way qualifying offer to center N'Faly Dante, and forward David Roddy is already on a two-way contract for 2025-26. So, as things stand, it appears Harris, Dante, and Roddy are in line for Houston's two-way roles. Kevon Harris, who shot above 40% on 3-pointers in the NBA G League last season, is reportedly signing a two-way contract with the Rockets. With a two-way contract slot available after not tendering a two-way qualifying offer to Jack McVeigh, the Rockets are reportedly signing Kevon Harris to the open spot.
