Praise of Mahalakshmi
Parasara shows his affection for Goddess Ranganayaki of Srirangam through Guna Ratna Kosa, said T.A.K. Srinivasacharya in a discourse. In one verse, he says he is afraid to even praise Her, for even his words of praise might hurt Her tender body! He says that when Her attendants look at Her, Her body suffers like a flower exposed to the heat of the sun. The vanamala garland that the Lord wears is Her swing, says Parasara. He is concerned that even these flowers will have an abrasive effect on Her delicate skin. She is Herself a garland on the Lord's chest. Goddess Ranganayaki is beautiful even when She is not wearing ornaments. And when the priests of the temple adorn her with pearl earrings and pearl necklaces, anklets, a jewel on Her forehead and a girdle, She looks even more charming. The ornaments are like lovely buds and flowers on a creeper.
Parasara Bhattar elaborates on Goddess Mahalakshmi's qualities. Like Lord Narayana, Goddess Mahalakshmi is eternally youthful. She shares many other qualities with Him. She stands by Him in everything. Here one should recall the Ramayana sloka, where Janaka gives Sita in marriage to Rama. Janaka says with reference to Sita — saha dharamacharee tava. Here he is assuring Rama that Sita will share in His duties. While Lakshmi and He share the same auspicious qualities, there are some that are special to Her. While She is worshipped by Her devotees, She, in turn, worships the Lord.
She gets rid of the doshas of Her bhaktas. She pays attention to us, when we tell Her about our problems. She accepts us despite our flaws. She persuades Him to accept us.

Father Of Pahalgam Attack Victim Meets Premanand Maharaj, Seeks Spiritual Solace
Last Updated: Premanand Maharaj empathised with their sorrow, saying losing a son is the greatest pain, like King Dasharath's grief for Lord Rama in the Ramayana The family of Shubham Dwivedi, who was tragically killed in the Pahalgam terror attack, made an emotional visit to Vrindavan to meet Saint Premanand Maharaj. Shubham's wife Aishanya, father Sanjay Dwivedi, and mother were present during the heartfelt meeting. The family sought blessings from Maharaj and shared their sorrow, reflecting on their loss. Reports indicated that Shubham's father wondered why the tragedy happened despite his son's strong faith. Premanand Maharaj offered comforting words, explaining that such events are part of God's plan. The meeting lasted about 10 minutes. Sources said that Aishanya, moved by memories of her husband, became emotional. The family reportedly recounted the details of the attack, explaining how terrorists killed Shubham after questioning his religion during their holiday in Pahalgam in April. Reports suggested that Premanand Maharaj empathised with their sorrow, acknowledging that the separation from a son or loved one is the greatest agony, drawing parallels to King Dasharath's grief for Lord Rama in the Ramayana. According to the reports, Maharaj emphasised that Shubham's death is a significant loss but also part of divine law that must be accepted. He shared that the incident had distressed him for days and, now, recalling the scene brought back the pain. He explained that birth and death are predetermined, and Shubham's passing was inevitable according to destiny. Accepting this truth, he said, is essential for finding peace. To provide mental strength, Premanand Maharaj recommended ' Naam Jap ', advising the family to remember and meditate on God to alleviate their sorrow. His comforting words reportedly brought tears to their eyes but also instilled a sense of spiritual peace. According to reports, the visit to Vrindavan was a quest for mental support and spiritual solace for Shubham's family. The blessings of the saint reportedly offered them some relief, and they returned with renewed hope, determined to live their lives with patience and faith while cherishing Shubham's memory. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
