‘Best of all time' PlayStation game is ‘now worth £675' – or £1,600 if you have special mark on disc case from the '90s
AN ALL-TIME favourite PlayStation game could fetch hundreds of pounds if you've got a copy.

It's Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, which is considered to be one of the best games of all time.
The action RPG landed in 1997 and wasn't an instant hit – but eventually caught the attention of gamers and now holds a legendary status for collectors.
Konami's classic title is valued at £614 if you have a new copy for the original PlayStation, according to video game collectibles price tracker PriceCharting.
And even an unsealed but "complete in box" unit would fetch £327.
The loose disc on its own is said to be worth £146, while the box has an estimated value of £79.
Even the manual on its own is listed with a £130 valuation.
But the best price for a regular copy of the game is one that's been totally sealed and has been professionally graded, potentially netting you £676.
PRICED UP
But there's a way to bag even more money.
Some copies of the game are stamped with a Limited Edition badge, and these are potentially worth much more to collectors.
For this, you'd be looking at as much as £1,669 for a professionally graded "new" copy – or £1,517 for a sealed unit without grading.
Little-known free PS5 trick lets you instantly beat hard parts of game – three taps will get you unstuck while playing
A "complete" box that's been opened is valued at £584, while the loose disc is said to be worth £384.
The box itself is estimated at £203, while the manual would potentially fetch £75.
This particular version of the game includes an "exclusive artbook and music CD".
It's important to note, however, that PriceCharting simply tracks previous sales of games to create estimates.

So there's no guarantee you'd get these exact sums if you decide to auction off your old game.
You could potentially end up with more – but offers could also come in far lower.
It's also worth remembering that these games could even climb higher in value in years to come (or drop off completely), so keep that in mind.
CASTLE CRAZED
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night was a direct sequel to Castlevania: Rondo of Blood – a less-well-known game that initially only released in Japan in 1993.

The 1997 sequel Symphony of the Night had an unimpressive launch but ultimately sold hundreds of thousands of copies.

It was well-reviewed by critics, who particularly enjoyed the large and freely explorable game world.
The title is now considered to be one of the best games ever made, and is an iconic part of gaming history.

Two major games to stop working on some PlayStation and Xbox consoles – it'll cost fans a fortune to keep playing
TWO popular games are winding down this month as they lose compatibility with older consoles. To keep playing, fans will have to upgrade to the newer PlayStation 5 and Xbox X|S - costing as much as £499. 2 2 Black Desert Online and The First Descendant are the latest titles to ditch support for the aging PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. After nearly a decade of service, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the Black Desert Online will be shutting down on 26 June. The creators at developer Pearl Abyss said they were shifting focus to the existing PC version of the game and the all-new PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions. In-game purchases for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players are set to be restricted. Gamers will be able to keep playing - and pick up from where they left off - only if they upgrade to a new console. When Black Desert Online is eventually made available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S after maintenance, players on the respective PS and Xbox platforms may continue with all their saved data, its creators said. All game data, including purchased items and in-game currency will be stored and accessible on those platforms. The First Descendant is also ending support for last-generation consoles, less than a year after it first launched. The title is set to be discontinued on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One from 19 June, just two weeks before the game's first anniversary. The creators at Nexon Games pinned the decision on the "increased scale" of the game. The developer added that the team was spending "a lot of effort and difficulty maintaining the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One builds," prior to the shutdown. The First Descendant has been on a downward trajectory for the last few months as its player count dwindles, according to The Gamer. There are a number of reasons why games lose support for older consoles, such as development costs and hardware limitations. Older hardware can't keep up with modern game features, making it harder to deliver new content smoothly on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Sony try to disrupt Nintendo Switch 2 launch with surprise PS5 State of Play
Sony has announced a new PS5 presentation for this week and they've timed it to happen just hours before the Nintendo Switch 2 launch. You'd think with the Nintendo Switch 2 launching in just a couple of days, other companies would wait for the hype to die down before pushing their own games. So, it's genuinely shocking to see Sony not just announce a new PlayStation 5 showcase for this week, but schedule it for Wednesday, June 4 – the night right before the Switch 2 launches. It's very clearly been done on purpose, in an act of antagonism that is very unlike Sony in the modern era, and harkens back to the bad old days of their PlayStation 1 and 2 rivalries. As is often the case for Sony's State of Play events, those of us in the UK will need to stay up until 10pm BST to watch it, with the showcase set to last approximately 40 minutes. There was talk of Sony having something planned for June, with rumours pointing to it being one of these smaller scale State of Plays rather than a larger E3 style showcase. 40 minutes is a decent amount of time for a flurry of game reveals, but past experience points to them mostly being from third parties rather than Sony's in-house studios. The last State of Play from February was actually very good though, after a string of disappointing presentations, with highlights including the announcement of Returnal successor Saros and a trailer for the new Onimusha game from Capcom. As for what could be shown at this week's showcase, it's anyone's guess. It could be new footage for Ghost Of Yōtei, since that's out this October, or an update on one of Sony's live service projects like Marathon or Fairgame$. Maybe Sony will give the people what they want and announce a new God Of War; something that has been rumoured for several years now. Whatever the case, it's hard to imagine Sony having anything that will be significantly more exciting than the launch of a new Nintendo console. More Trending While the two companies are competitors at the end of the day, we can't help but find the timing of this showcase is disrespectful on Sony's part. What's for certain is that it isn't accidental. It's also wildly pointless since no one's going to cancel their Switch 2 pre-orders at the last minute to save their money for a PlayStation 5 or whatever new exclusives are announced. Plus, a significant chunk of the viewing audience will want to own both consoles anyway. That is unless Sony has some monumental announcement planned, that is going to change the status quo, but if that was the case they almost certainly would've made it a full showcase and not just a State of Play. The Last of Us fans hit with disappointing update for season three release date
The Last of Us fans may be expected to wait a lot time for the release of season three of the hit HBO show... Fans of the HBO hit series The Last of Us can likely expect a long wait for the third season of the critically acclaimed post-apocalyptic drama television series. Season two of the drama finished last week, with some fans branding it as "disappointing". The season finale ended with Bella Ramsey's character Ellie confronting vengeful killer Abby, who is played by Kaitlyn Dever. The series is based on the video game franchise developed by Naughty Dog, which was released in 2013 on Xbox and Playstation. The show quickly became a fan favourite due to viewers enjoyment of the game. Despite mixed reviews for the season finale, it was already renewed for a third season ahead of the season two release date. Similar to the game, the next season is expected to shift to Abby's perspective. At a press conference last month, according to Vulture, co-creator Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann admitted they still aren't sure how much viewers can expect to see characters Ellie, Dina (Isabela Merced), Tommy (Gabriel Luna), and Jesse (Young Mazino) in the next season. This led fans to believe the creators haven't completed writing the season yet. This theory was later appeared to be confirmed by Bella, who recently told Variety that they hadn't "seen any scripts," yet. When Bella was asked whether their character would take on a smaller role in the third season, the 21-year-old said: "I haven't seen any scripts, but yes, I do expect that. I think that I'm going to be there, but not a whole bunch." Although they did not give anything away, they continued: "We've had conversations about that. I sort of have a rough idea of what it's going to be, but I can't tell you." However, creator Craig revealed: "All I can say is we haven't seen the last of Kaitlyn Dever and we haven't seen the last of Bella Ramsey, and we haven't seen the last of Isabela Merced, and we haven't seen the last of a lot of people who are currently dead in the story." As Neil teased: "Whether you will see them on screen or not, their presence will be there throughout." Speaking previously about the show's future, Craig assured viewers that they were "not going to go past the game." He told The Hollywood Reporter: "I'll just say that flat out. So if people are thinking, 'Oh, these guys are planning the old cash grab thing… "I'm basically setting a decade of my rapidly dwindling life on fire to tell this story. The show is so hard to make. It has to have an end. So I'm not going to go past." Fans of the show could not be more upset with the long wait for season three, as they took to social media to discuss their upset. One fan wrote on Reddit: "I don't understand why they didn't just film season 2 and 3 at the same time or at least make season 10 episodes and have parts of 5. Honestly and a lot of people agree with me on this 2027 to see another 7 or 8 episodes is a joke." Which promoted another viewer to reply: "They should have made season 2 as long as it took. 15 or 20 episodes. Just f*****g do it." As a third replied, showing their distrust to HBO: "The current head of HBO sucks and is making terrible decisions."
