The Suicide Squad director recently talked about the hypno glasses, which Superman uses to conceal his secret identity.
James Gunn revealed to Comicbook.com that he forgot about the glasses possessing a power. He was reminded of the same by comic book writer Tom King. Moreover, the hypno glasses, which allow Clark Kent to appear different from Superman, are also canon in the comics.
The DC Studios co-CEO said, 'It's kind of been forgotten, but that's from the comics. I was sitting with Tom King, the comic book writer, and I was like, 'you know the thing that I just don't really know how to reconcile in myself is the glasses because the glasses always bothered me as a kid.' They bothered me because I just don't have that much suspension of disbelief to believe that. But he said, 'You know, there's an answer for that in the comics, it's canon that they hypnotize people.''
Additionally, Gunn asserted that David Corenswet 'looks the most different as Clark Kent to Superman, even more so than Chris Reeve.'
The description of the hypno glasses was given to comic book fans in 1978 in Superman (Vol. 1) #330. Apart from this, in the trailer, fans have also seen Clark Kent alter his voice and persona according to Superman. He does so when he gets interviewed by Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan).

Movie Review: In ‘Heads of State,' a buddy comedy with statesmen
Say what you will about the Idris Elba-John Cena vehicle 'Heads of State,' but it's surely the first buddy comedy about the fraying bonds of NATO. The potential collapse of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization plays a surprisingly pivotal role in this fitfully diverting, for-background-noise-only, straight-to-streaming movie. Elba plays the embattled British Prime Minister Sam Clarke, while Cena co-stars as the recently elected U.S. President Will Derringer, a former action star. 'Heads of State,' directed by Ilya Naishuller ('Nobody'), is mostly about their relationship, a tense and adversarial one challenged further when an assassination plot leaves them stranded together in Belarus. But that 'Heads of State,' which debuts Wednesday on Prime Video, is such a mild romp makes it all the more surprising to hear a line uttered like: 'If NATO falls, there's backstop against despots and dictators.'not It's a funny time to release a comedy set around international political disconnection and imperiled Western democracy. But if you were beginning to worry that 'Heads of State' is too timely, don't. Any nods to current events here serve more as reminders of how much 'Heads of State' — like most of Hollywood's output — is unengaged with anything resembling our political reality. You could argue that that's not necessarily a bad thing. You could also argue that the greater sin of 'Heads of State' is underusing Stephen Root. (He plays an expert working for the bad guys.) But the vaguest hints of real-world intrigue only cast a pale light on the movie's mostly lackluster comic chops and uninspired action sequences. The best thing going for 'Heads of State' is that the chemistry between Elba and Cena is solid. The 'Suicide Squad' co-stars trade barbs with a genial ease. Most of the time, those revolve around their characters' divergent histories — Clarke was a commando before becoming a politician — in debates like which one of them is 'gym strong' as opposed to 'strong strong.' That's one of the few decent gags in the script by Josh Applebaum, Andre Nemec and Harrison Query. But one problem in 'Heads of State' goes beyond the high-concept set-up. The best buddy comedies — 'Midnight Run,' '48 Hrs.,' 'The Nice Guys' — are predicated on opposites thrown together. Elba and Cena have their obvious differences. (Cena's Derringer is exaggeratedly optimistic here, too.) But ultimately they're both beefy dudes in suits. As the MI6 agent Noel Bisset, Priyanka Chopra Jones gives the movie a kick. But her scenes are left to the beginning and end of the movie. In between, we're left to wonder where she went, how two political leaders would have such non-existent security and whether a few half-decent jokes are enough to forgive the movie's geopolitical delusions. 'Heads of State,' an Amazon MGM Studios release is rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association for sequences of strong violence/action, language and some smoking. Running time: 113 minutes. One and a half stars out of four.

James Gunn Says We'll See Superman Again Sooner Than We Think — GeekTyrant
With James Gunn's Superman just days away from hitting theaters, you'd think fans would be focused solely on that. But in typical fan fashion, the speculation machine is already spinning, thanks to a cryptic update from Gunn himself. Apparently, we won't have to wait long at all before seeing the Man of Steel again. During an interview with Phase Hero, Gunn was asked when we'll get to see Clark Kent again, Gunn revealed it will be in "a couple of years", or even less. He then added, 'Well, no, you might see him... You'll see him before then.' He clarified that the interviewer was referring to the character not the actor. 'Yeah, you'll see the character before then,' Gunn confirmed. Is Gunn teasing a Superman cameo? Will it be in a movie or a TV show? Could Superman appear in animated form before Corenswet's next big-screen return? It's all on the table. One possibility is Peacemaker Season 2, which drops this August. Superman appearing in that, even briefly, could be a lot of fun. There's also Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow , which is scheduled for 2026, and that makes a lot of sence. That film could feature Superman in a mentor-style role. It was previously rumored that Superman will show up in a flashback in Supergirl . The scene reportedly shows Kara's arrival on Earth, where she emerges from her ship alongside Krypto. Superman greets her with a warm smile and says 'Hi there!' On the animation front, DC has a few irons in the fire. Projects like My Adventures with Green Lantern and a Blue Beetle spinoff are in development. If Gunn was referring to the character popping up in one of those, it would still count as seeing Superman—just not necessarily Corenswet. One thing we know for sure is that Superman is going to be a central connective thread in the new DC Universe. Early online reactions for Superman have only fueled the excitement. The movie is being called 'Unique' and 'damn beautiful.' Superman opens in theaters July 11.
