Climate Information Center: Weather in Egypt Starts Improving

Dr. Mohamed Ali Fahim, head of the Climate Information Center at the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, stated that today marks the last day of the Coptic month of Amshir (30 Amshir 1741).
He added that with the end of Amshir, weather conditions begin to improve, giving way to the month of Baramhat, known in ancient Egypt as the season of growth, during which the Nile flood recedes and crops flourish.
Fahim explained that this year, Amshir borrowed the extreme cold of Touba at night, as the previous month deceived plants and trees into believing it was a mild and warm Touba.
Many historical accounts suggest that Amshir is associated with the storm god "Mentu." A popular proverb describes it as "Amshir, the one with the big drum, bringing storms and strong winds."

NRIAG: Egypt Lies 600 km Away from Seismic Belts
Rana Atef Dr. Sherif El-Hady, Head of the Earthquake Department at the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics, confirmed that Egypt's borders are about 600 kilometres away from the seismic belts, explaining that an earthquake is a sudden shake. The series of earthquakes that occurred in Egypt over the past few days are a result of unexpected seismic activity. El-Hady added, during a phone interview on the program "Al-Hayat Al-Youm" with journalist Mohamed Mostafa Sherdy, broadcast on Al-Hayat Channel, that the sudden seismic activity is due to the nature of the land, and it may subside for long periods. He emphasized that the recent earthquakes are not an indication of a large-scale earthquake or a disaster. He continued, 'The duration of the most recent earthquake was 12 seconds, and it could vary if you are farther from the coast. The farther you are, the shorter the duration. June 1: Hot Weather Expected for Egypt on Sunday
Rana Atef The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) predicts hot weather will prevail in most of the country during Sunday's daylight hours. The country will also witness mist on agricultural and highway roads in Cairo, Lower Egypt, Canal Cities, North Coast, and North Upper Egypt. Extremely hot weather is also expected to hit South Upper Egypt. Light rainfall is also predicted to prevail intermittently in the northern coasts, and the north of Lower Egypt. Furthermore, the Mediterranean Sea will experience low to moderate waves, ranging between 1.5 and 2 meters in height, varying between northwest and northeast surface winds. The Red Sea will experience low to moderate waves, ranging between 1 and 1.75 meters in height, with northwest surface winds. Moderate weather is also expected to prevail in most of Egypt at nighttime. May 24: Extremely Hot Weather Prevails across Egypt on Saturday
Rana Atef The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) predicts hot to extremely hot weather to prevail in most of the country during Saturday's daylight hours. Extremely hot weather is also expected to hit South Upper Egypt. The country will also witness mist on agricultural and highway roads in Cairo, the North Coast, and North Upper Egypt. Dusty winds will occur occasionally in South Sinai and the Red Sea Governorate. There will also be a disruption of maritime navigation in the Red Sea and Gulf of Suez with wind speed reaching 40 to 60 km/hr and wave height ranging from 2 to 3 meters. The Mediterranean Sea will experience turbulent waves, ranging between 2 and 3 meters in height, with northwest surface winds. Moderately warm weather is also expected to prevail in Egypt at nighttime.
