Glastonbury fans recommend 'biggest up and comers' on line-up this year

Glastonbury Festival will take place in June, with the likes of The 1975, Neil Young, and Olivia Rodrigo set to perform on the Pyramid Stage, but there are plenty more acts to see
Music fans have recommended some of the "biggest up and comers" gracing this year's Glastonbury Festival line-up. Alongside headliners The 1975, Neil Young, and Olivia Rodrigo on the Pyramid Stage, Worthy Farm is set to showcase a plethora of talents across its many stages.
Seasoned Glasto-goers are recommending a wander from the main stage to witness the 'up and coming' stars of future festivals. A thread on the r/GlastonburyFestival Reddit asked: "Who are this year's biggest up and comers?" A consensus formed in the comments as numerous respondents championed one band in particular, who will be playing the festival this year.

The most upvoted response reads: "Wunderhorse." Recognised for their supporting slot on Sam Fender's recent UK tour, Jacob Slater's ensemble has experienced a surge in recognition ever since.
One Redditor proposed catching Antony Szmierek live, with another backing this guidance and reminiscing over his previous electrifying performance at the West Holts stage.
That enthusiast shared: "Saw him in the West Holts bar last year and it was a vibe. I've seen him a few times elsewhere, the mixing can sometimes be a bit hit or miss. Would recommend!".
Fat Dog received nods, singled out by one forum user as "one of the best live acts". They've also had the opportunity to warm up crowds for Yard Act during a gig at Millennium Square in Leeds.
One festival-goer recounted their previous experience, writing: "I saw them last year. They were one of the best live acts I've seen in a long time. Whole crowd jumping around as one... and they played at 13:00, while everyone was mostly sober."
Another attendee offered insights on potential highlights for this year's festival. They wrote: "Rachel Chinouriri has already grown so much in the last year and I think she will continue to get bigger.

"I also think Alessi Rose will also start making headlines in the next couple of years, funny enough Rachel had the second slot on the other stage on Sunday last year so very similar to Alessi this year. And of course Westside Cowboy who won the emerging talent competition.
"Then there are people like CMAT who have been growing at a steady rate and Inhaler are doing well as well."

CMAT, a name that kept cropping up among festival enthusiasts, earned praise from someone who felt their Pyramid Stage billing was well-earned.
They wrote: "I was really pleased to see CMAT is on the Pyramid stage this year. I saw her at Woodsies in 2023. She's great live. Really happy for her."
Surprisingly, Lambrini Girls, the punk rock outfit from Brighton, wasn't as prominent on the lineup as one would expect.
A dedicated fan expressed their disappointment, writing: "I was certain Lambrini Girls would be in a higher spot, after playing three (?) times last year and their album release I feel like they've blown up, but maybe I'm just in a bubble and they're more niche than I thought."

CEO dad who became viral hero after crying at Olivia Rodrigo concert speaks out about the tender moment

When Christian Lopez took his two daughters to see their favorite artist Olivia Rodrigo in concert, he never expected to be bawling in the audience. Most dads forced to sit through a Olivia show would zone out - being forced to spend two hours listening to pop music in a crowded and hot arena isn't really any man's idea of fun. But Christian, 51, found himself unexpectedly getting emotional during one segment of the show - when Olivia started singing about her insecurities. As hoards of young girls around him belted out the lyrics to a song about not feeling 'pretty enough,' Christian - the founder of a pickleball training company - couldn't help but tear up. His wife Leslie Lupton caught the tender moment on camera and shared it to TikTok where it recently viral, gaining more than 3.3 million views and turning Christian into a social media sensation practically over night. While chatting exclusively with the Daily Mail about it, the couple, from Carmel, Indiana, explained that while Christian had heard 'plenty' of Olivia's songs from their two daughters Zadie, 15, and Darien, 12, playing them in the car and around the house, he had never really paid attention to the lyrics before. But when he started to register to the powerful message in her hit Pretty Isn't Pretty during the concert, it struck a chord with the CEO. Footage showed the businessman looking around at girls around him who were crying before he himself broke down in tears. 'Looking over and seeing our daughters, along with so many other girls, crying and singing every word [to that song], it really got to him,' Laura shared of her husband's emotional reaction. 'In that moment, it hit him on such a deep level - both the meaning of the lyrics and the beauty of watching them connect to it so fully. 'Experiencing it live, the vibe in the crowd was electric, and the words just felt so powerful.' 'Bought a bunch of makeup, tryna cover up my face / I started to skip lunch, stopped eating cake on birthdays,' the lyrics read. 'I bought a new prescription to try and stay calm / 'Cause there's always something missing, there's always something in the mirror that I think looks wrong.' Laura explained that they had gifted their daughter Zadie tickets to the Chicago music festival Lollapalooza for her birthday. The four-day-long event, which took place at the end of July, featured multiple artists, but Christian joined Laura and Zadie with their younger daughter Darien for Olivia's set. 'Looking over and seeing our daughters, along with so many other girls, crying and singing every word [to that song], it really got to him,' Laura shared of her husband's reaction She said she 'never imaged' the video would get the reaction that it did, and vowed that Christian 'doesn't see himself as a hero.' 'I shared the video simply to capture a moment that felt so alive and full of emotion - watching their faces light up when Olivia took the stage was indescribable,' she gushed. 'They kept saying, "Every time I hear this song, I'll remember this exact moment!" As a parent, moments like that fill you with so much pride and love. 'You realize how deeply your daughters feel, how connected they are to the world around them, and it's humbling and beautiful to see someone else recognize the intensity of that feeling too. 'And then seeing Christian's face in that moment of realization - it was just incredible. 'He doesn't see himself as a hero - he's just a dad, and a man who loves supporting his girls and the women who surround them.' Laura said it's been 'so moving' seeing how many people 'connected' with that moment. 'It's really about celebrating all those strong young women who were there, showing so much love, emotion, and strength,' she added. 'He was simply honored to be part of it alongside them.' In the end, the couple said they hope that people use the video as a lesson that 'we often don't know what others are experiencing or what will truly touch them.' 'It's a reminder to stay aware and compassionate,' they concluded. 'Empathy alone isn't enough - when we witness moments that move others, we have a responsibility to recognize the impact, and to create a world where those experiences and voices are valued, not dismissed.'

Best dressed celebrities revealed including global pop sensations, models and Hollywood actors - but do YOU agree with the results?

The best dressed celebrities have been unveiled thanks to a new study which has revealed who has the most searched for outfits. Sabrina Carpenter, 26, came out on top with the most sought-after wardrobe, after wearing an array of sexy ensembles since dropping her breakthrough album last year. The pop star has around 49,000 people searching to copy her red carpet and stage looks in just one month, making her the 'best dressed' in the eyes of the study. She is thousands of searches ahead of the runner-up Olivia Rodrigo, who has around 34,500 people trying to find out where she gets her ensembles from. Zendaya rarely puts a fashion foot wrong when it comes to her glamorous premiere looks and off-duty style, which has clearly been noted by her fans. The actress was given third place in the study, led by fashion brand Superdry, ahead of fellow fashionistas Kendall Jenner and Rihanna, who placed fourth and fifth respectively. While Sabrina has hit the headlines for her chart-topping hits, her fashion prowess has also caught the attention of fans. Earlier this year she modelled for Versace and before this she worked her model magic in Kim Kardashian's SKIMs campaign. The American star turned heads on the Met Gala red carpet in May earlier this year, rocking a burgundy Louis Vuitton bodysuit and tailored jacket. Sabrina said: 'It mixes Savile Row tailoring with Parisian corsetry. It's important for my glam to look like my own. I want it to meld seamlessly with my outfit without overpowering it. 'I have a signature base and then add different elements to change it up depending on the colour or style of my look.' Other recognisable names who made the top 10 in the study included Hailey Bieber, Sofia Richie and Blake Lively. It was claimed earlier this year that Blake's wardrobe for It Ends With Us ballooned to more than $600,000 (£444,000) after she 'completely revamping the costumes at the start of products to align with her vision of her character, Lily Bloom'. Her co-star who she is locked in a legal battle with, Justin Baldoni's lawsuit documents claim was 'ignoring the director's vision for her character and disposing of the weeks of effort and creativity spent by the wardrobe team'. Rihanna has long been admired for her fashionable looks (Pictured fifth place Rihanna) Court papers claim the costume designer had to 're-shop Lively's wardrobe, far exceeding the allocated budget and diverting time and resources, while also preparing wardrobes for the rest of the cast. She also reportedly wanted to spend $5,000 on shoes to show her character 'had money' - despite being a fledgling small business owner - and her changes meant Justin 'forced to rethink an entire script that had been in the works for years'. Supermodel Gigi Hadid was also given kudos for her fashion credentials and was revealed as the ninth most searched for star. Meanwhile, Sydney Sweeney found herself in 10th position despite being embroiled in controversy over an American Eagle ad which has led to US President Donald Trump anointing her his anti-woke queen. The campaign was accused of pushing Nazi-like eugenics as aspirational. Sydney said in the commercial: 'Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair colour, personality, and even eye colour. My jeans are blue.' The newly-registered Republican has yet to publicly address the backlash. Last Friday, American Eagle CEO Jay Schottenstein issued a statement stressing that the spot 'is and always was about the jeans' and noted that 'great jeans look good on everyone.'

Green Man 2025 review: A weekend of bliss in the sunshine

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Just imagine it, you're embedded deep in the Welsh countryside. It's a hot, sunny weekend and you have an amazing mix tape of music, food and beer at arm's length for a whole 72 hours. You'll have to imagine it because the 2025 edition of the festival is now over and it was a classic year. I've been to Green Man a fair few times over the past decade and a half and it's always been a fun experience, I've seen Super Furry Animals, PJ Harvey, Belle & Sebastian, Michael Kiwanuka, Television, Sleaford Mods... I could continue but I can't remember any more right now, but I guess they are the ones that made their mark. The 2025 line-up was bristling with diverse genres as per usual with names like Wet Leg, TV on the Radio, Wunderhorse and Beth Gibbons of Portishead. But this Saturday night of Green Man made my gold standard, side one, mix tape of my times at the festival over the years. I dabbled in a little Gwenno - queen of Welsh and Cornish atmos-pop with echos of Julee Cruise - ran over to Melin Melyn for some excellently twee-but-fun indie with matching outfits and connective narrative, then planted firmly on our usual spot at the Mountain Stage hill for Irish singer CMat who led into atmospheric dance legends, Underworld. The last two acts, completely different but had me mesmerised for almost three hours. CMat, who charmed audiences at Glastonbury earlier in the summer seemed over the moon to finally be playing Wales and treated the huge audience to a rendition of the 'Welsh national anthem' aka Road Rage by Catatonia. From superstar gigs to cosy pubs, find out What's On in Wales by signing up to our newsletter here She's a great crowd pleaser and eventually had the entire natural amphitheatre doing a two-step, sorry, CMat - it's the Treorchy two-step, not what you dubbed it (she said it so quick I couldn't even tell.) Her fiery take on honest, country-pop makes her more fun and you can 't help but feel that charm. Underworld posed an entirely different genre, but were equally grateful to have made it back to Wales, Karl Hyde commented: "Well well, Wales, Richard.. it's been a long time since we've been able to say that. A load of people told us how lovely this festival is - they're true [sic]." He went on to thank Graham Hyde - aussuming his dad, who "worked his arse off" to get him through college in Cardiff and if that hadn't happened he wouldn't have formed Underworld with Rick Smith. With that heartfelt message they launched into their biggest hit, the soundtrack of a generation, Born Slippy. Dancing for 90 minutes straight on a hillside during a warm August night can really help you to escape the every day, something that's often needed at the moment. Not that Green Man shirks when it comes to how the world could be made better. Its commitment to environmental, political, sustainable betterment is all around, from the bands signed up - controversial Kneecap were on the bill Thursday - to the toilets (compostible - hold your nose) - the fun-but-educational Einstein's Garden, it's a place where learning is fun and creative. It is also a space for Welsh language and culture to be explored and its Green Man Rising scheme offers new artists - local and beyond - a chance to be seen and heard. Mix all of the above together and you've got a recipe for a dream weekend in the countryside. Tickets for the 2026 Green Man Festival go on sale in just over a month - September 27 - so if you missed out on this year, plan to go in 2026. The speed at which the festival now sells out is indicative of its success, but also the fact it's a great place to spend a weekend.
