The internet quickly became obsessed with a "Romeo and Romeo" love story between two cat neighbors, hopeful they'll be reunited one day.
Last spring, a cat owner, known on Reddit as u/RuralQueso, noticed the neighbor's cat escaping and spending the day with his feline, Kreacher. Kreacher and the neighbor's orange cat, Mystery, immediately bonded, he told Newsweek via Reddit.
Ever since that day, Mystery would escape every chance he could to come over and see Kreacher. They would spend the days cuddling and playing. But eventually, the neighbor realized Mystery had been sneaking out against his wishes, as Mystery is an indoor cat only.
"The first time Mystery got out, my neighbor thought my cat was a girl and they were trying to fool around, and he apologized and let me know his cat was fixed, to which I replied it was OK because my cat's a boy too, so no risk there!" he said.
But with Mystery kept inside, the cats' playdates have been restricted to seeing each other through the window. Kreacher's owner snapped a picture of how the cats spend their time together now and shared it on a Reddit post yesterday to the subreddit channel r/aww. He jokingly calls it a "Romeo and Romeo" love story.
In the picture, Kreacher reaches his front paws up to the windowsill and pulls himself up, with his back paws resting on the house. Mystery, in the comfort of his home, looks out the window to greet Kreacher. They nearly come face to face as the window screen prevents them from touching.

"Kreacher makes several trips a day to that window, even in the winter!" the owner said.
The lovebirds adapted to the new lifestyle. These two cats cannot and will not stay apart. Kreacher's owner said Mystery will sit at that window, meowing until Kreacher comes to visit. They'll nap together: Mystery in the windowsill and Kreacher in the sun.
"My neighbor and I are friends, so when Mystery does make it to my house, the neighbor will casually make his way over to have a chat and retrieve the cat, and he doesn't mind Kreacher being at the window at all," he said.
Within a day of sharing, the Reddit post reached over 61,000 upvotes as users fell head over heels for this love story.
"Please get a little stand so they can sit and see each other through the window," one commenter suggested.
A second Redditor wrote: "This is heartbreaking. These cats have found a better love than I ever have, they deserve to be together with no barriers!"
"This is so cute! I'm glad they get to see each other often, if only to stare longingly into each other's eyes," another commenter wrote.

Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors You may know her best as a scream queen from movies like "X" and "Pearl", but now Mia Goth is graduating to a galaxy far, far away. Dia Dipasupil/FilmMagic Very little overall is known about "Star Wars: Starfighter". Shawn Levy of "Deadpool & Wolverine" fame is directing from a script by Jonathan Tropper, who previously worked with Levy on "The Adam Project" and "This Is Where I Leave You". "Starfighter" is set roughly five years after the events of "Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker" and is a standalone film disconnected from the larger Skywalker Saga. "Star Wars: Starfighter" is scheduled to hit theaters May 28, 2027. Originally, this would've placed its bowing pretty close to another big Disney film, "Avengers: Secret Wars", but the latter event film has since been delayed to December 17, 2027. "Starfighter" is part of Disney's attempt to once more capitalize on "Star Wars" at the box office. The franchise hasn't released a feature since 2019 and numerous projects have been reported to have stalled along the way. Next for Star Wars in theaters is "The Mandalorian & Grogu", which is set for release May 22, 2026. The film will continue the adventures of the heroes introduced in Disney+'s "The Mandalorian". Among other projects is Daisy Ridley's return as Rey in a film set 15 years after "The Rise of Skywalker", and James Mangold's ambitious "Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi". Goth won't be sitting on her hands waiting for "Star Wars" to come around, of course. Fans can next see her this November in Guillermo del Toro's "Frankenstein". Goth plays Elizabeth in the Netflix original, the fiancée of Victor Frankenstein (Oscar Isaac). Goth is also starring in Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey" in an as-of-yet undisclosed role. She is rumored to be playing the powerful witch Circe, but this has not been confirmed. Top WWE Superstar Pitches One More Match With John Cena
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Seth Rollins has expressed a strong desire to share the ring with John Cena one more time before the 17-time World Champion's retirement at the end of 2025. In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, Rollins called out his former rival, referencing their heated history. This comes as Cena is in the midst of his final year as an active competitor, a heel "retirement tour" as the Undisputed WWE Champion. This has led many WWE fans to speculate about which classic rivalries Cena might revisit before he hangs up his boots for good. When asked about facing Cena again, Rollins stated, "I hope so. I hope so." He then referenced a more recent, positive experience teaming with Cena in India in September 2023. "John and I teamed a couple of years ago in India at a random show, a wonderful show there. I teamed with him and it was one of the wildest experiences I've ever had in a ring." Despite their successful team-up, Rollins made his competitive intentions clear. "I would love to face off with him one more time and get another chance to break his big old nose," Rollins declared. He immediately warned: "This knee is coming for you, John. I'd love to get one in before he hangs it up." MoreMore news: WWE News: Steve Austin Reveals Real-Life Vince McMahon Confrontation Rollins' comment about breaking Cena's nose directly references their famous feud in 2014 and 2015. On the July 27, 2015, episode of Raw, Rollins' knee strike legitimately broke Cena's nose during a match. Their rivalry was a cornerstone of WWE programming during that era, culminating in a "Winner Take All" match at SummerSlam 2015, where Rollins defeated Cena to hold both the WWE and United States Championships. Currently, both men are top heels on their respective brands. Rollins is a leader of a new dominant faction on Raw and is a participant in this Saturday's Money in the Bank ladder match. Cena, aligned with Logan Paul, is set to face Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso in a major tag team match at the same premium live event. With Cena's retirement tour ending in December, the window for a final, epic showdown between the two former rivals is closing. More WWE News: For more on WWE, head to Newsweek Sports.

Owner Leaves Dog Alone With Relaxing Music—Unprepared for What Petcam Shows
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A viral video of an American XL bully named Ragnar has warmed the hearts of viewers on TikTok—thanks to his hilariously chill reaction to some relaxing tunes. The video, which was posted to Instagram by the pet's owners on June 4, shows Ragnar fully sprawled out on his dog bed, front legs extended and head buried contently on the cushion, exuding total peace. An overlaid text on the video added more context: "Left my dog home alone with relaxing music… This is what I saw when I checked the camera… I think it worked." The caption read: "10/10 would recommend dog relaxing music!" There is some science behind the lighthearted post, because music—particularly classical music—is proven to have a soothing effect on dogs. Research by the Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) and the University of Glasgow found that classical music can reduce stress levels in canines a significant amount. In the 2015 study, researchers observed dogs in a shelter and found a notable decrease in stress behaviors, such as barking and pacing, when classical music was played around them. The American Kennel Club also recommends soft classical or reggae music for dogs who suffer from separation anxiety, noting that the rhythm and tempo help promote a sense of stability and security. Since it was posted, the video from @ragnarthebullyxl has racked up over 400,000 likes and more than 1.4 million views on the platform. The comments section is flooded with users expressing laughter and amazement at the canine's tranquil state, with one commenter writing, "Dude's sleeping like he pays the bills." "'Pit bulls are mean' literally pit bulls:" Another viewer said. "Now I feel better for leaving my dog relaxing music," another added. "OMG I do this for my dog everyday when I'm out and she is always dead asleep," a third viewer shared. "Him sleeping like that while [you are] at work paying for that TV to stay on so he can listen to his music," another said. "This is literally what my dog does if not he's watching Bluey and people get made I leave him alone trust me he's living his life," another added.
