Pokemon TCG Pocket's Triumphant Light Expansion Spotlights Pokemon God

Yahoo27-02-2025

Pokemon TCG Pocket's developer, DeNA, released the massive Space-Time Smackdown set at the end of January -- but apparently they don't want to rest on their laurels.
The next trading card expansion arrives in-game on Feb. 28, 2025. Triumphant Light will focus on the mythical God of Pokemon, Arceus, which was introduced in the generation four Pokemon games Diamond, Pearl and Platinum.
This set releasing so soon after the previous drop is no coincidence: Space-Time Smackdown was themed around generation four, making Triumphant Light a natural extension of the Dialga and Palkia-themed release.
Here's everything we know about Triumphant Light, including the set size and what cards will be featured in the booster pack.
The new Pokemon TCG Pocket expansion is a companion to the recent Space-Time Showdown set, introducing more generation four Pokemon into the popular mobile game.
Whereas Space-Time Smackdown was a massive 155-card set, Triumphant Light will be a more focused, pared-down expansion -- the number of cards being added is more akin to the Mythical Island pack drop.
Mythical Island was themed around Mew and Celebi, and Triumphant Light is themed around Arceus. These smaller expansion sets focus on mythical Pokemon that didn't get to shine in larger set drops.
This establishes a sort of trend for the mobile trading card app. The first card set, Genetic Apex, was bolstered by Mythical Island right when the hype started to die down and players were running out of new cards to pull. Now that some of the luster has worn off from the Space-Time Smackdown set, the Triumphant Light expansion will revitalize new pulls.
Pokemon TCG battling isn't all about brute force and picking attacks with the highest damage numbers. It's also about utilizing special effects to get a leg up on your opponent when they least expect it.
Aside from Arceus Ex, several cards were shown off in the expansion trailer that have a special connection to the mythical Pokemon emblazoned on the pack art. Tyranitar, Abomasnow, Rotom, Raichu and Crobat cards all have Pokemon Abilities that buff them if Arceus or Arceus Ex is in play.
We also caught a glimpse at new Croagunk, Unown, Garchomp Ex and Shaymin cards -- Shaymin and Unown have Pokemon Abilities of their own, though they aren't connected to the presence of Arceus on the playing field.
Each new set in Pokemon TCG Pocket has focused on a specific mechanic from the trading card game. Mythical Island was all about supercharging the energy economy and Space-Time Smackdown added Pokemon Tools. It looks like Pokemon Abilities will be the next mechanic to get a chance to shine in the new expansion released on Feb. 28, 2025.

He detailed in a Reddit post that his girlfriend 'just lost someone close to her and is grieving.' She asked if he was willing to leave their apartment for a week so that she could have some time, but he couldn't honor that request. 'I told her sorry I can't because I have no where to go, my family lives too far away, my friends don't really have the space for me right now,' he wrote, adding 'and I don't want to spend the money to stay at a hotel for a week.' His decision has left his girlfriend 'upset,' and she has accused him of 'making things worse.' The man revealed he hasn't received much support from his friends either, who think he should give his partner space but aren't offering him alternative accommodations. That's why she is so upset, I did ask her to help pay but her money is going towards funeral costs,' he wrote. The man sought feedback on whether he was in the wrong for not leaving, and Reddit users responded overwhelmingly in support of him, questioning whether the relationship was in trouble. 'You're her bf [boyfriend], if she can't be sad or grieving around you why is she with you or living with you? If y'all were married would she expect you to leave every time then too,' one person wrote. Another commentator echoed that her asking him to leave was not a good indicator of how she processed her feelings when times got hard. 'If her coping mechanism for trauma is to push you away, this does not bode well for your relationship. But the real test of a relationship is when things are hard.' Another questioned why the girlfriend didn't choose to leave herself. 'She can get a hotel if she wants her own space,' the user wrote. Mark Cuban Says Elon Musk Is a 'Different Dude' — He Joked 'Congrats on Your 97th Kid' And Got the Wildest Response: 'Mars Needs People'

Mark Cuban knows how to troll with a purpose—especially when Elon Musk is involved. But when he sent Musk a congratulatory text for the birth of yet another child, he didn't expect a reply that sounded straight out of a sci-fi pitch meeting: "Mars needs people." That's not a punchline. That's the actual text Cuban says he got back. In a 2022 appearance on the "Full Send Podcast", Cuban got real about the limits of AI, the longevity of human health, and, naturally, Musk. "He's a different dude," Cuban said, when asked whether they'd ever be close. "I know Elon like a tiny bit. He had another kid—this is before the last three or whatever—and I'm like, 'Dude, congratulations. How many are you going to have?' He goes—sends me a text back—'Mars needs people.'" Cuban added, "That's what he does." Don't Miss: Maker of the $60,000 foldable home has 3 factory buildings, 600+ houses built, and big plans to solve housing — Invest where it hurts — and help millions heal:. Cue stunned laughter from the podcast hosts. Cuban shrugged, "I don't think he likes me." And while the line reads like a classic Musk troll, he's dead serious about it. Musk has long argued that humanity's best shot at survival is becoming a multiplanetary species. He's repeatedly said Earth is vulnerable—nuclear war, pandemics, rogue AI—and wants to build a self-sustaining city on Mars with up to a million people by 2050. So yeah, when he says "Mars needs people," he's not joking—he's recruiting. By 2024, Cuban was still retelling the story—this time on "This Past Weekend with Theo Von"—adding a little more context and a few more jabs. "I helped him with something, or tried to, so I had his number," Cuban recalled. "He had a kid and I'm like, 'Congrats on your 97th kid,' and he texts me back: 'Mars needs people.' And I'm like, that's funny as f***." But the bromance stops there. Trending: Cuban said things got a little rockier when he tweeted something less-than-glowing about Tesla. Musk didn't take it well. "He just sends me a text with the article and it says, 'F*** you.' That's it. Just 'F*** you,'" Cuban laughed. "He's thin-skinned," Cuban continued, noting that Musk has since called him a "racist," hit him with the infamous poop emoji, and hurled other insults. "That just gives me license to f*** with him even more," Cuban said. "I don't give a f*** what he thinks." Despite the name-calling, Cuban made it clear he still respects Musk's entrepreneurial streak. "SpaceX, Starlink, Tesla—dude's the entrepreneur of our generation," he said. "There's nobody close." Even with that praise, Cuban's stance is unbothered. "He says some stupid s***," he admitted. "And I have no problem calling him out." As for whether they'll ever squash the beef? Probably not. But Cuban seems just fine keeping the banter alive—one Mars baby joke at a time. Read Next: Here's what Americans think you need to be considered wealthy. THE EMPIRE STRICKES BACK Reimagined with Darth Vader as the Hero — GeekTyrant

What if Darth Vader wasn't the tyrant we've all feared, but the misunderstood hero trying to save the galaxy from chaos? A new parody video amusingly reframes Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back by painting Vader as the peace-seeking savior, while Luke, Yoda, and Han are just reckless troublemakers throwing wrenches into his plans. With the tagline 'Darth Vader tries to save the galaxy, but Luke Skywalker, Yoda and Han Solo get in his way,' this clever re-edit takes one of the most iconic films in the Star Wars saga and turns it into a dramatic tale of misjudged intentions and galactic betrayal. It's a fun reminder that perspective is everything and that maybe Vader just needed better PR.
