Jadon Sancho transfer interest confirmed as club chief breaks silence – 'I want him'

Jadon Sancho is in exile at Manchester United as he waits for a new club to come forward after two other potential exits failed to materialise in the summer transfer window Besiktas are hoping to complete a deal to sign Manchester United outcast Jadon Sancho after a succession of other deals fell through. ‌ Sancho is in exile at United alongside fellow unwanted players Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia. The bomb squad group, which previously also included Marcus Rashford before he left for Barcelona, have been told they have no future under Ruben Amorim and are looking for new clubs. ‌ Sancho spent last season on loan with Chelsea, but they turned down the opportunity to sign him permanently, deciding they would rather stump up a £5million fee than pay £25m for his services. He has since agreed terms with Fenerbahce and Juventus, only for those deals to fall at the last hurdle. ‌ The 25-year-old has less than a year left on his contract with United, but his £300,000 wages are providing a stumbling block towards any exit. Borussia Dortmund and Roma have both shown an interest, yet it is Besiktas who could jump to the front of the queue after club president Serdal Adali spoke out. 'Just as much as the community wants him, I want him too,' he told Turkiye Today. 'What matters is not only our desire, but also if the player wants to come to Turkey. We have a budget, and we will do our best to bring him here. 'Players like Jadon Sancho usually prefer clubs playing in the Champions League. Whether it happens today or not, it is hard to say. If it is possible, we will get him. Besiktas fans can rest assured.' Besiktas' fans are extremely keen to sign Sancho, having bombarded his Instagram account with over five million messages reading 'Come to Besiktas'. However, Fabrizio Romano has reported that Sancho does not share the enthusiasm of the Besiktas fanbase and isn't keen on a move to Turkey at this stage of his career. Instead, he is planning to wait for interest in Italy to turn into an offer. ‌ But despite Gian Piero Gasperini's interest in Sancho, Roma reportedly don't have the funds available to pay his wages. Roma would need to move on some of their unwanted players first, but Inter Milan have also been mooted as suitors in Italian reports. Besiktas are managed by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was in charge of United when Sancho was signed for £73m from Dortmund back in 2021 The move did not work out, with Sancho returning just 12 goals and six assists in 83 matches for the club. Sancho did better on loan with Chelsea, with five goals and 10 assists in 41 games last season. He helped the Blues win the Conference League but the club surprisingly opted against signing him permanently. Sancho did not go on United's pre-season tour of the United States and is now waiting patiently for a new club to come forward ahead of the deadline on September 1.

Raymond Ford vs Abraham Nova: Date, fight time, card, TV channel and live stream as Americans clash in Saudi

FORMER world title winner Raymond Ford takes on underdog Abraham Nova in a thrilling fight this Saturday! American Super featherweights Ford and Nova face-off against each-other in Saudi Arabia on Saturday, August 16 as part of the undercard for Moses Itauma vs Dillian Whyte. 2 2 Ford was meant to face Anthony Cacace, but the Northern Irish star picked up an injury during training camp and was forced to withdraw. The American is certainly the favourite going into this contest, boasting a professional boxing record of 17-1-1. The 26-year-old star won the WBA featherweight world title last March, defeating Otabek Kholmatov via a dramatic TKO in the final round. But he failed to defend his title in June, 2024 as he lost out to Nick Ball - who also fights on the card - by split decision. He has since moved up to the super featherweight division where he has beaten both Orlando Gonzalez and Thomas Mattice. His opponent, the more experienced Nova, has a professional boxing record of 24-3-1, although he hasn't won a fight since 2023. Liverpool chasing giant player who idolises Chris Smalling and is loved by Andrea Pirlo

Liverpool have been active in the transfer window as Arne Slot looks to revamp his Premier League-winning squad for the fresh season, and it appears as though the Dutchman is not done yet Liverpool aren't done yet in the transfer window, with the Reds working on a deal for Parma star Giovanni Leoni. The 18-year-old centre-back impressed in Serie A last season and can count Andrea Pirlo among his supporters. ‌ Leoni is under contract with Parma in Serie A until 2029, but the Italian sensation has caught the eye of Arne Slot. The Liverpool boss has made no secret of his desire to strengthen his defence, with a move for Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi also in the works. ‌ As per reports, Liverpool have now entered negotiations for Leoni, who will be a part of Slot's first team squad immediately should a deal come to fruition. Outside of Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate, Liverpool are relatively strapped for choice with regards to centre-halves after the departure of Jarrell Quansah for Bayer Leverkusen. ‌ But what do we know about Leoni given that the star has only just emerged as a Liverpool target? Here, Mirror Football breaks it down... Giovanni Leoni would become one of the tallest players at Liverpool Towering at around 6'4'', Leoni would be a sentinel with regards to set pieces for Liverpool, whether that be defensive clearances from corners or scoring with his head at the other other end of the pitch. And he would also become Liverpool's joint-second-tallest squad player if a move is completed. That's because he is the same height as Van Dijk and Rhys Williams, who are also known for their aerial prowess. Goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili is currently Liverpool's tallest player, coming in at a staggering 6'6''. Andrea Pirlo is a fan of him Before signing for Parma, Leoni played under the watchful eye of Pirlo at Sampdoria, walking away from his tenure with the Serie B side having impressed the Italian legend. Speaking about Leoni after he made his debut for Parma, Pirlo said: "I am very happy for him. We are dealing with a fantastic boy and I was sure he would make it to Serie A. He deserves it." Elsewhere, speaking about his character last March during his initial loan spell with Sampdoria, Pirlo explained: "If someone had doubts about starting him from the first minute, I had none. I see him every day in training. He played as a mature youngster; he will become a strong footballer." ‌ He idolises Virgil van Dijk and Chris Smalling Should Leoni complete a move to Liverpool, he will have the chance to play alongside one of his footballing inspirations in Van Dijk. He has also shared his adoration of former Manchester United centre-half, Chris Smalling. Speaking about his influences during his time with Padova, he said: "I take inspiration from van Dijk and Smalling." All things considering, Van Dijk and Smalling are two incredible players to look up to in today's game, given the respective careers they have enjoyed. Van Dijk has two Premier League titles and a Champions League to his name with Liverpool, while Smalling has hoisted two league titles and an FA Cup with United. ‌ It comes as Liverpool are also said to be chasing a deal for Crystal Palace captain, Guehi. The 25-year-old is currently in his final year of contract at Selhurst Park meaning he could leave on a free next summer, with the Eagles slapping a £40m valuation on him as a result. The Reds are said to be long-time admirers of Guehi, who has been capped 23 times by England, and are said to have agreed personal terms. All that remains to be seen now is whether Liverpool can agree on Palace's valuation, of if they will try to wangle the Community Shield winners down as a result of already spending big this summer.
