People Who've Been Blocked By Celebrities On Social Media Are Sharing What Happened, And I Can't Stop Reading This
The internet is the marketplace for free thoughts. Unfortunately, it's also a place where these thoughts can be disguised behind an avatar with no actual repercussions.
And while it isn't a crime to tell a politician or a celebrity that they suck, it could undoubtedly get you blocked on social media — something that a few people have learned one way or another.
A post on the r/AskReddit sub recently invited users to share their experiences getting blocked by celebrities, and oh my, this sh*t is hilarious. Usual suspects like Elon Musk appear on the list, along with more surprising individuals, like Tony the Tiger.
1. "When the Mars Rover played a Black Eyed Peas song on Mars, I tweeted, 'Great, now the Martians will definitely be hostile,' and got blocked by Will.I.Am. I didn't even mention him or anything so I'm kind of at a loss as to how he saw it, lmao."
2. "Seven or eight years ago, I used to follow Busy Phillips on Instagram because I thought she was cute and funny. However, EVERY day, she would post intense close-up videos of herself working out. Like on all fours, pouring sweat, staring into your soul."
"No talking, just three or more 'stories' of grunting and sweat. I didn't understand it. Now, looking back, she was definitely getting paid by whatever workout studio she was filming from.
One day, she posted a survey basically asking if she should stop posting these weird videos. I voted yes and she blocked my ass. What a strange woman."
3. " Mario Lopez accidentally followed me probably a decade ago on Twitter. I sent him a DM like two weeks later saying thanks for the follow, and then was blocked, lol."
4. "Not me, but my best friend got blocked by Tony the Tiger's Twitter account because she followed enough people who liked some furry content at some point, and whoever was running that account absolutely scorched the Earth to make sure no furries were following Tony."
5. "On Facebook, Death Cab for Cutie got hacked with some link, 'how to eat ass,' and it had a video. After that, many people, including me, kept commenting 'Death Cab for Booty,' and they blocked me for that."
6. "I got blocked on Twitter by O.J. Simpson in 2020 for asking him if he plans on purchasing the new Bronco in white when it's released."
7. "I was blocked by Mel B, aka Scary Spice."
"She went on a talk show and talked about how she was invited to Megan and Harry's wedding. She said the Spice Girls were going to perform. She even went as far as to describe what the invitation looked like. All the other Spice Girls, when asked, said it was not true. Obviously, it never happened.
A while later, Mel B posted a meme on her Instagram about how she hates dishonest people. I responded, 'Soooo how was the royal wedding?' BLOCKED."

8. "I was massively into the Glee fandom back in the day. Dot Marie Jones (who plays Coach Beiste) would always tweet in CAPS and one day I just replied something like 'WHY DO YOU ALWAYS TYPE IN CAPS' and got blocked, lmao."
9. "Posted the picture of a younger, balder Elon Musk in a reply to him."
10. "Got blocked by Kid Rock for saying he looked like a less masculine version of Dr. Phil."
11. "I got blocked on Soulja Boy's Twitch when I asked in the chat when my Soulja Boy console would arrive because I never got any shipping info. He got really, really pissed about my question."
12. "My buddy got blocked by Tyler, The Creator. He was having a bipolar episode and thought Tyler, The Creator was putting hidden messages in his songs, saying that he was actually a Christian, and that if anyone figured it out, he would be best friends with them. So, essentially, my buddy was harassing Tyler, The Creator, telling him that he found his hidden message and was ready to be best friends with him. My friend is on medication now and doing much better."
13. "On Twitter, I asked Gene Simmons from KISS if the Kiss cologne smells like his nutsack or Paul Stanley's. He blocked me."
14. "Alec Baldwin blocked me on Twitter about 10 years ago. To be fair, I challenged him to a fight in my high school parking lot. Guess he didn't want no trouble."
15. "Told Mark Hoppus I was a big fan of his because 'Green Day was one of my favorite bands in middle school' on Twitter. Got blocked."
16. "Frank Ocean dropped out of Coachella two days before I was supposed to see him live, claiming he broke his ankle. So I DM'ed him saying, 'send me the X-rays' and he blocked me."
17. "Not really a 'celebrity,' but Joel Osteen blocked me on Instagram for calling him out on preventing people from taking refuge in his megachurch during the hurricane."
18. "Kim Kardashian blocked me and I can't remember why, but it's a badge of honor."
19. "Roseanne blocked me on Twitter about 15 years ago. I forget what she was saying, but it was a blanket statement about how people who disagreed with her on a certain subject were un-American. I made some comment about singing the National Anthem, and poof! I was blocked. You probably have to be a certain age to even get the reference."

21. "Scott Baio blocked me for tweeting the following: 'Crazy how Scott Baio played a genius in Baby Geniuses 2 and plays a dumbass in real life, that's some impressive range.' Knowing he saw it delights me to this day."

22. "Ellie Goulding was talking about how meat was bad for you on Instagram. I — being the insufferable teenage debate brain I was — wrote an entire essay explaining why she was wrong, the benefits of eating meat, how morality is based on more than someone's diet, etc. I spent about half an hour constructing it. She simply replied, 'You have too much time on your hands' and blocked me. She wasn't wrong, lol."

"He'd posted a picture of himself golfing, and I thought it'd be funny to post something smart-ass like:
'Oh to be a rich cunt able to play golf and shit.'
I would've blocked me too, tbh."

25. "I got blocked by the Smashing Pumpkins and Billy Corgan's Facebook pages because I pointed out that Billy looks like a grown-up Caillou and could benefit from some better-fitting clothes. I've been blocked for six years now."

Millennials Are Hilariously Responding To Being Called Out For The Way They Communicate Over Text
There I was, just being a millennial, enjoying my day and reminiscing about Pogs and Orbitz drinks and Beanie Babies, when suddenly, I was jolted from my "won't-ever-be-able-to-afford-to-buy-a-home" haze. Why, you ask? Well, I happened upon this blatant attack upon my generation from @gaulicsmith on Twitter (now known as X): And I quickly discovered the conversation has been happening all over the internet, including X, Threads, and Reddit. Unsurprisingly, my fellow millennials immediately felt called out. "Feeling attacked lol," said one person. "They're onto us lol first they came for our cheugy lol then our side part lol then our computer y2k crisis but they made it fashion lol" "my apartments on fire and i haven't felt joy since 2012 lol" And it will come as no surprise that millennials, the kindest generation, who have never done anything to anyone (except "kill" a bunch of industries and part our hair on the side and wear skinny jeans), quickly started apologizing, lol. Related: 50 People Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really, Really, Really, Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Gave No EFFS "Sorry ( ) resisting the urge..." Then they moved on to their next tactic: trying to explain themselves. "lol does not mean LAUGH OUT LOUD! It means please don't be mad at me," this person said. "CLOSE! It actually means: 'I have anxiety so say it back or I'll think you hate me.'" "It is our way of communicating tone. We are a generation of people who feel like we are always in trouble/everyone is mad at us. lol" Related: "Something's Killed Me. Please, Someone Tell My Parents": 19 Terrifying Stories From People Who Lived In Haunted Houses That Are Gonna Give Me Serious Nightmares "If I don't put lol at the end of a sentence you might get mad at me. I blame having parents raised by traumatized WWII vets." "we cannot abide someone thinking we're mad at them" And one person hilariously added, "Remember when all our Nanas thought it meant 'lots of love'?" Of course, millennials also had to get in a few solid jabs at some other generations while they were at it. "at least i don't have tiktok voice," said one. "'Lol' is to millennials as '...' is to boomers." "frfr zoomers use 'frfr' like 'loud and clear' for radio comms." "Why does Gen Z wear pajamas everywhere lol" And finally, "At least we can read lol." To my fellow millennials, just remember: If you're a millennial, what do you think? Are you going to keep using "lol" despite the harsh and entirely unfair judgment? Let us know in the comments. And if you're not a millennial, give us a break lol. (See, that's proper usage of the lol. You can't be mad at me now.) Chrissy Teigen Slams Donald Trump For 'Acting Like A King' Amid L.A. ICE Protests
Chrissy Teigen is lending her voice against Donald Trump's alleged tyranny! The model has joined the loud calls for the President to drop his alleged authoritarian ways and make America governable for Americans. Chrissy Teigen has carved out a niche for herself as one of the most vocal figures on social media and in Hollywood on matters of governance, bullying, and other issues. The model took to her Instagram to emphasize that "Trump is NOT our king - and on June 14th, it's up to us to prove it." She criticized his plan to throw himself a $45 million birthday party, likening it to "a big military parade like some of his authoritarian idols have done." Teigen also called BS on the White House's information that the parade to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States Army coincidentally falls on the same day as Trump's birthday. "Rubbish. Trump wants a big military parade on his birthday and is using the anniversary as a pretext. How ironic that the Continental Congress originally established an Army, headed by George Washington, to fight against the very tyranny that Trump espouses," Teigen asks further. She continued that the President is acting like a king by "defying the courts, issuing arbitrary decrees, disregarding checks and balances." Teigen continued in the caption that on June 14th, all Americans "will gather peacefully to protest Donald Trump's authoritarian spectacle." She encouraged her followers and fans to find out more information at " adding that they should find the nearest gathering, "get involved," and stand up for democracy. She noted that Trump seeks to organize a military parade to assert his sense of power in the country. Teigen stressed that it is important to remember that in America, kings are not recognized as leaders. The model urged everyone to come together on June 14th and send a clear message to Trump and the world that the true power in America lies with the people. Earlier today, TMZ shared that California Governor Gavin Newsom recently criticized President Donald Trump during an interview amid ongoing protests in Los Angeles. He accused Trump of being a "bald-faced liar" and claimed that the president is seeking to incite a civil war with his immigration policies. Newsom made these remarks while addressing the violent demonstrations sparked by ICE raids targeting undocumented immigrants. During the interview with Fox 11 L.A., Newsom expressed his frustration, labeling Trump a "STONE COLD LIAR" and declaring that Trump's actions are putting lives at risk by federalizing the National Guard without justification. He also denied Trump's claim that he warned Newsom about calling in California's National Guard if the protests escalated, calling those comments "totally and completely untrue." While acknowledging the chaos, including acts of vandalism and arson during the protests, Newsom condemned the violence unleashed during the protests. He called for the arrest of those responsible and emphasized the need for calm and safety in the streets. The governor also insisted that Trump should rescind his order to help de-escalate the situation. In a separate MSNBC interview, Newsom also challenged Trump's Border Czar, Tom Homan, to arrest him. Last year, at the Cannes Lions, before the election, The Blast shared that Teigen and her husband, John Legend, participated in a live recording of the podcast "On with Kara Swisher." Teigen reflected on her past criticisms of Trump and expressed concern about the potential for backlash if he were to regain the presidency. She noted that her previous tweets, particularly her notable comments slamming Trump from 2019, could resurface and attract unwanted attention from the "unhinged" politician. Legend echoed his partner's apprehensions, emphasizing the importance of considering personal safety and the impact of Trump's potential return to power. Despite their concerns, both Teigen and Legend remain committed to their political engagement. They plan to continue voicing their opinions, regardless of the backlash they may face. Legend expressed his determination to support President Biden at the time, acknowledging that his political stance might alienate some fans of his show, "The Voice." Nevertheless, he affirmed his authenticity, stating that he stands by his beliefs. Teigen echoed this sentiment, reiterating that ultimately, being true to oneself is more important than worrying about public opinion or brand associations. The model and her musician husband reportedly considered moving from their $17.5 million Beverly Hills mansion in the wake of the Los Angeles fires. As reported by The Blast, although their home was spared from the scorching flames, the couple was traumatized by the incident and immediately planned to have their lives elsewhere. The couple shared that they have New York at the top of their list of places to live. Legend noted that they once lived in the city where they owned two penthouses. They eventually sold their two units for $18 million. Legend and Teigen initially moved to Los Angeles for work, but the recent wildfires have prompted them to rethink their decision. Despite these thoughts, the couple shared that they are not prioritizing a move at the moment. They reportedly sounded hesitant to disrupt their youngest children's lives and preferred to let them grow a bit more before making any final decisions. The activist in Chrissy Teigen cannot sit idly by and watch things go bad!
