NIA court declares Hizb chief Salahuddin a proclaimed offender under UAPA
The special designated court under NIA Act, Srinagar, issued a proclamation requiring the appearance of Shah, a resident of Soibugh, Badgam, in connection with serious charges under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Ranbir Penal Code.
According to court records, a challan was filed alleging that the accused has committed offences punishable under Sections 13 and 18 of the UA(P) Act and Section 505 of the RPC in Zakura police station.
Despite a warrant being issued for his arrest, law enforcement authorities have reported that Salahuddin could not be found and is believed to have absconded or is deliberately concealing his whereabouts to evade arrest.
In light of these circumstances, the court declared Salahuddin as absconding and issued a proclamation requiring his appearance before the court on or before August 30, to answer the charges framed against him.
Failure to appear may lead to further legal action, including proceedings under Section 82/83 of the Code of Criminal Procedure pertaining to the attachment of property of an absconder.
Srinagar Police has appealed to the public for any information on the whereabouts of Salahuddin and urged cooperation in the interest of justice and public safety.

Mohali: A local court on Monday upheld the 2009 conviction of Col Baljit Singh Sandhu (retd), owner of WorldWide Immigration Consultancy Services (WWICS), in a case under the Forest Conservation Act, 1980, but granted him probation instead of jail time. Online frauds cheat investors with fake luxury goods scheme, 8 arrested
Noida: Eight members of an online fraud racket that lured people with promises of becoming millionaires were arrested on Sunday. The accused operated via Google Meet, convincing targets to invest Rs 1.5 lakh by purchasing fake luxury goods like gold, diamonds, and watches. Payments were collected during the meetings, often in dollars or bitcoins. When investors failed to make profits, they were pressured to buy more products and even offered fake loans to continue investing. Those arrested include Vidhan Dagar (27), Kaushik Dagar (31), Tapas Dhara (28), and Ganesh Bera (23), natives of West Bengal; Satish Shaw (29) of Jharkhand; Kalpesh Raju Bhai (23) of Gujarat; Gurvinder Singh (29) of Ludhiana; Gurdeep Singh (39) of Punjab. "The accused now face charges under sections 318(4) (cheating), 351(2) (criminal intimidation), and 61(2) (criminal conspiracy) of the BNS at the Ecotech-1 Police Station," Verma said.

Home Minister should take responsibility for Pahalgam attack: Congress' Gaurav Gogoi
New Delhi, July 28 (UNI) Congress Deputy Leader Gaurav Gogoi today asserted that Home Minister Amit Shah should be held accountable for the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, and cannot deflect responsibility onto J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. Speaking during the discussion on Operation Sindoor in the Lok Sabha, Gogoi said: "The Home Minister comes and says that everything is well arranged. The backbone of terrorism has been broken. Yet, Uri happens, Pulwama happens, and Pahalgam happens. In the end, who takes responsibility? The Lieutenant Governor of J&K? No. If responsibility has to be taken, then Hon'ble Home Minister, it is you who must take the responsibility." He also said that all the blame for the Pahalgam attack was placed on the tour operator, with the claim that the operator took tourists to Pahalgam without permission and without informing the government. He questioned this logic of "evading responsibility", asking how such an argument could be justified. He further pointed out that 100 days have passed since the Pahalgam attack, yet the four terrorists involved have not been apprehended. The terrorists came, were given shelter, carried out an attack in Pahalgam for an hour, and escaped—yet not a single one has been caught.
