WB Announces New DC Studios Animated Series MISTER MIRACLE Officially in the Works — GeekTyrant
Warner Bros. Animation and DC Studios just dropped a major announcement at the Annecy Animation Festival with Mister Miracle , which is getting his own adult animated series.
Based on the Eisner Award-winning 12-issue comic by Tom King and Mitch Gerads, the new series will bring one of DC's most psychologically layered characters to the screen in a bold new way. Tom King will also serve as executive producer and showrunner.
No streaming home has been officially confirmed yet, but the studios say they'll be revealing more details during their adult animation-focused showcase.
This project marks the second adult animated series from the Gunn/Safran-led DC Studios after Creature Commandos, which has already locked in a second season for HBO Max. Other animated projects currently in development include Starfire! , My Adventures with Green Lantern , and DC Super Powers .
The series follows Scott Free, 'known worldwide as Mister Miracle, the greatest escape artist who ever lived. With his wife, Big Barda, Scott seemed to have built the perfect life on Earth, until everything began to unravel.
'As war erupts between the planets Apocalypse and New Genesis, Scott's adoptive father, Darkseid, has apparently obtained the Anti-Life Equation, a devastating force capable of dominating the universe.
'With carnage escalating on both sides, Mister Miracle becomes the last hope to end the conflict and restore peace. But the power of the Anti-Life Equation might already be affecting Scott's mind, distorting his reality and threatening the happiness he shares with Barda.'
Warner Bros. and DC Studios promise more info is coming Friday during their adult animation showcase, so stay tuned!

That doesn't mean that Johansson is ruling out returning to the MCU in a different capacity, though, with the former Avenger revealing she'd consider directing a future film in the franchise, instead. While attending Cannes with her recent directorial effort, Eleanor the Great, Johannson spoke about the possibility of popping back to the MCU with Deadline, after parting ways with it in 2021 with Black Widow, which gave her character a fond farewell. 'I think the movies that I like that are big action movies that also have the human connectivity piece," she explained. "Even producing Black Widow and being a part of the production of that, and the development of the story, and the story between Natasha and Yelena… [there is] I think, a way of doing it, a way of maintaining the integrity of the idea of human connection, family, disappointment, all of the things that were themes in [Eleanor the Great], and doing it in a giant way in a giant universe — there's ways of doing that… So, yeah, definitely, it could be, it would be fun.' Her new film still has ties to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (although it's hard for any film not to nowadays). Former Flag-Smasher Erin Kellyman stars alongside June Squibb in this heartfelt story of a remarkable friendship. Squibb plays the titular Eleanor, who moves to New York and befriends a 19-year-old student (Kellyman). The film also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor and Jessica Hecht. A Ford owner is going viral on TikTok after showing how the logo, flipped around, reads, 'Brat.' Why is this the latest online phenomenon? TikTok user Hailey LaRae (@haileylarae) posted a video of the tailgate of her Ford truck on Tuesday. The video shows her tailgate with the reversed logo to the tune of Charlie XCX's '365.' "To whoever said if you flip Ford's logo around it says brat, thank you. I cannot unsee it," the on-screen text reads. Why Does It Matter? In the caption, LaRae adds the following hashtags: "#ford #bratsummer #brat." This is clearly a reference to the 'Brat Summer' sparked by U.K. pop star Charlie XCX's 'Brat' album in 2024.
