"I First Ate Churros Here At 4 Am": Matt Preston's Favourite Churros Place Is In Spain

NDTV07-07-2025
Australian food critic and writer Matt Preston, most popular for judging several seasons of MasterChef Australia, has shared one of his favourite places in the world to enjoy authentic churros. For the unversed, churros are a popular dessert originating from Spain and Portugal. These are long, fried dough pastry sticks that are soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. After frying to golden brown, churros are rolled in a cinnamon-sugar mixture and served with delicious chocolate sauce.
In his post, Matt Preston shares glimpses from Chocolateria San Gines, one of Madrid's most iconic chocolate shops, known for its chocolate with churros. Preston shares that this is the first place where he ate churros 17 years ago and that too at 4 in the morning.
Located in the vibrant Cais Sodre neighbourhood, this cafe offers an authentic churros and chocolate experience in a relaxed and modern environment.
In the video, Preston can be seen enjoying lots of churros with chocolate sauce served in a cup. He can also be seen playing with the churros, pretending to eat the entire stick at once and placing it like a funny moustache on his face.
Asking for more such churro cafes, Preston wrote, "I first ate churros here at 4 am, 17 years ago. Then it was just a doorway under an arch with a couple of tables. Now it's consumed the block. It's an old favourite, but where do you think serves the best churros in the world?"

The comments section is flooded with recommendations for churro spots and appreciation for Preston's post:
Commenting on the video, popular Chef Audra Morrice wrote, "It was my best breakfast ever in Barcelona! Wishing I could be back there again soon!!!!"
Another said, "Looks like you're having too much fun with those churros." A third commented, "Keeping it real with some 'dad jokes' hey, Matt?"
A foodie recommended, "Churreria Alhambra, in Granada (pl Bib-Rambla, 27). They are exquisite and by far the best we've ever tried. Vivan los churros!!" Another chimed in, "A churreria in Talavera de la Reina (Castilla-La Mancha) called Churreria Mariana. Amazing churros y porras."
An Instagram user shared, "There's a little Spanish restaurant in Ballarat called Cafe Meigas, my son says they have the best churros and chocolate sauce."

Rasha Thadani Serves Sexy Airport Look In Pink Crop Top And Cargo Jeans

Last Updated: Rasha Thadani, daughter of Raveena Tandon, was seen at Mumbai airport in a bubblegum pink crop top, rugged denim cargo jeans, a blush-pink handbag, and black bangles. Rasha Thadani is serving and how! The star kid, who's fast becoming a Gen Z fashion icon, was snapped at the Mumbai airport today and she looked absolutely sexy, stylish, and super fit. Raveena Tandon's daughter was basically everything we love in a good airport spotting moment. Rocking a bubblegum pink spaghetti crop top that showed off her toned abs and sunkissed glow, Rasha proved she's got the it-girl style game locked down. She paired the top with rugged denim cargo jeans, slightly slouched and patched for that cool streetwear edge. The cargo pants, with their big pockets and laid-back vibe, perfectly balanced the flirty pink top. Rasha carried a soft blush-pink handbag which was totally on-theme with the rest of her pink Barbiecore aesthetic. On her wrist, she stacked up black bangles for an edgy desi-meets-90s twist. She wore her long tresses in two cute braided pigtails, with soft flicks framing her face, a nostalgic Y2K nod. Her makeup was minimal and glowing: a natural base, glossy pink lips, and a flush of blush that matched her top. Topping it all off were those rose-tinted sunglasses. Take a look: View this post on Instagram A post shared by Manav Manglani (@ Rasha Thadani, daughter of Raveena Tandon and Anil Thadani, is slowly stepping into the world of showbiz. She took her first step into Bollywood with the period drama Azaad, released on January 17, 2025, directed by Abhishek Kapoor and starring Ajay Devgn. In the film, she played Janaki Bahadur, a strong-willed landlord's daughter, in a story set during India's struggle for independence. Despite a modest box office haul of about Rs 1.5 crore on opening day and critical response calling the film slow-paced, Rasha's presence stood out. Critics noted she had a screen presence despite needing to work on her emotional scenes. Even though Azaad didn't perform well at theaters, a clip of Rasha delivering a heartfelt dialogue went viral online, with fans dubbing her the next 'princess voice." Set in pre-Independence India, Azaad tells the story of a skilled horse rider (played by Ajay Devgn) who flees from the merciless English army. But her life turns upside down when his horse gets lost, forcing him to embark on a risky search with the assistance of a young man. Looking ahead, she is gearing up for her second venture, Laikey Laikaa. Rasha will share the screen space with Abhay Verma, best known for his role in Munjya. The upcoming action film, slated for a 2026 theatrical release, will reportedly feature the new-age actors in lead roles. Khushi Kapoor Brings Power And Precision To The Ramp At India Couture Week 2025

Last Updated: Khushi Kapoor brought power and poise to the runway in a Rimzim Dadu ensemble that was inspired by the delicate links of traditional payals. Khushi Kapoor brought commanding elegance to the Hyundai India Couture Week 2025 runway, closing Rimzim Dadu's show in an ensemble that felt equal parts art, armour, and avant-garde couture. View this post on Instagram A post shared by FDCI (@fdciofficial) In a setting of earthen hues and modern installations, Khushi Kapoor emerged as a futuristic princess warrior, glowing with grit and grace. Her look, a sleek yet powerful interpretation of traditional Indian ornamentation, fused old-world craftsmanship with contemporary innovation. The sculpted halter top, moulded using Rimzim Dadu 's signature pre-oxidised metal technique, mimicked the ripple of molten fabric while offering the strength of sculptural steel. The detailing along the hem, inspired by the delicate links of traditional payals, added a layer of sensual geometry to the otherwise minimal silhouette. The long skirt featured a chainmail-like pattern, crafted to resemble burnished Banjara jewellery. Each metallic loop was aged to perfection, giving it a tactile, lived-in feel that spoke of history and heritage. This wasn't just embroidery; it was engineered couture. Taking over two months to construct, Khushi's ensemble was designed to embody raw elegance, every element meticulously shaped to evoke a sense of armour softened by ornament. Her styling amped up the narrative: bold emerald jewellery added colour contrast to the monochrome metalwork, while her softly tousled hair and smoky eyes kept the look contemporary and arresting. The collection itself was a celebration of contrasts – craftsmanship and modernity, delicacy and strength. Rimzim Dadu's 2025 couture line built upon her legacy of textile innovation, pushing boundaries with pre-oxidised metallic threads, structured silhouettes, and tactile surfaces. Inspired by weathered heirlooms and tribal adornments, the pieces leaned into oxidised textures, sculptural forms, and architectural finesse. From pleated metallic saris to experimental jackets and modular separates, every look was a modern heirloom – designed to empower, not just adorn. Khushi Kapoor's showstopper moment brought the house down, redefining what Indian couture can be: not just ornate and traditional, but sharp, storied, and utterly future-forward. tags : fashion FDCI India Couture Week India Couture Week khushi kapoor lifestyle Rimzim Dadu view comments Location : Delhi, India, India First Published: July 30, 2025, 10:36 IST News lifestyle Khushi Kapoor Brings Power And Precision To The Ramp At India Couture Week 2025 Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
