CAIRO – 25 April 2025: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi greeted the Egyptian people on the 43rd anniversary of the Sinai Liberation Day, saying that Sinai is an indivisible part of the Land of Kenana, safeguarded by the solid will of its people, the unshakable valor of its army.
In his speech on the anniversary of Sinai Liberation Day, President Sisi added that the defense of Sinai and safeguarding every inch of the homeland have been an irrevocable covenant and a steadfast principle enshrined in the faith of all Egyptians.
The President also said that Sinai is fundamental tenet of our national security, one that admits neither compromise nor concession.
As for the ongoing Israeli war against the Palestinians on the besieged Gaza Strip, President Sisi said that the relentless war in the Gaza 'persists unabated, unleashing utter devastation, and claiming the lives of tens of thousands of defenseless victims in an abhorrent humanitarian catastrophe that will shamefully scar the records of history.'
The president continued that Egypt's stance has been unshakable, demanding an urgent and immediate ceasefire, the release of hostages and detainees and the unfettered delivery of sufficient humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.
President Sisi said that Egypt affirms that the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip must be executed in accordance with the Arab-Islamic plan, without any and all forms of displacement. He affirmed that just and comprehensive peace shall only be attained through the establishment of an independent Palestinian State, founded upon the resolutions of international legitimacy.
Here is the full text of President Sisi's speech:
'In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful'
The great people of Egypt,
On this glorious day, we celebrate the 43th anniversary of the liberation of Sinai. This pristine part of the land of Egypt has weathered the desirous eyes of the greedy, yet throughout history, it has always stood as a powerful testament to our enduring resilience and endless sacrifices. Sinai has engraved in the very soul of the Egyptian people an indelible, unequivocal truth: it is an indivisible part of the Land of Kenana, safeguarded by the solid will of its people, the unshakable valor of its army, and the unyielding resolve of its sons, who have penned the most magnificent tales of heroism in defense of its sacred soil.
The defense of Sinai and safeguarding every inch of the homeland, have been an irrevocable covenant and a steadfast principle enshrined in the faith of all Egyptians; deeply entrenched in the conscience of the nation, generation after generation, as a fundamental tenet of our national security, one that admits neither compromise nor concession.
As we recall this eternal memory today, we raise our heads in solemn tribute to the Egyptian Armed Forces, whose noble martyrs offered their precious souls to defend our land and uphold our honor, inscribing upon the pages of history an enduring epic of sacrifice and devotion, side by side with the men of the civil police, who engaged in a ferocious battle to obliterate terrorism from the cherished soil of Sinai.
With immense national pride, we also commemorate the masterful Egyptian diplomacy and the dedicated national task force. They resolutely demonstrated that rights are reclaimed through determined will, extensive knowledge, and unwavering patience. They waged a groundbreaking legal battle, ultimately affirming Egypt's sovereignty over Taba through the esteemed international arbitration process. This stands as a brilliant chapter in the annals of our nation's triumphs.
The noble people of Egypt,
Through your insightful vision and thorough comprehension of the formidable challenges facing both Egypt and the region, you have unequivocally established yourselves as a cohesive internal front, resilient against manipulation and influence. And indeed, the nation, under your capable stewardship and guided by your vigilance and judgement, remains secure for eternity.
Amidst the unprecedented challenges engulfing the region, the relentless war in the Gaza Strip persists unabated, unleashing utter devastation, and claiming the lives of tens of thousands of defenseless victims in an abhorrent humanitarian catastrophe that will shamefully scar the records of history.
From the outset, Egypt's stance has been unshakable, demanding an urgent and immediate ceasefire, the release of hostages and detainees and the unfettered delivery of sufficient humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip. Egypt has also firmly and categorically rejected any displacement of the Palestinian people from their ancestral homeland.
Egypt remains, as it has always been, a solid bulwark against all endeavors aimed at the liquidation of the Palestinian cause. Egypt affirms that the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip must be executed in accordance with the Arab-Islamic plan, without any and all forms of displacement, thereby ensuring both the upholding of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and the safeguarding of its paramount national security.
Once again, we affirm that just and comprehensive peace shall only be attained through the establishment of an independent Palestinian State, founded upon the resolutions of international legitimacy. This, and only this, constitutes the definitive pathway to ending the cycle of violence and vengeance and achieving lasting peace. History bears witness to the peace accord between Egypt and Israel, brokered through American mediation, which stands as a demonstrable model for resolving intractable conflicts, quelling vengeful sentiments and establishing peace and stability.
Today, we declare with a unified voice: 'Just peace is the imperative choice towards which we all shall strive'. We look with earnest expectation to the international community, foremost among them the United States, and specifically U.S. President Donald Trump, to assume their anticipated and pivotal role.
Brothers and sisters,
Just as the liberation of Sinai was a sacred duty, so is the tireless pursuit of comprehensive development across Egypt. It is a sacred obligation. Today, we witness unprecedented endeavors unfolding across the entirety of our nation, committed to achieving a comprehensive renaissance and building the modern Egypt our people so rightfully deserve.
In conclusion, we shall stand in profound reverence and solemn tribute before our righteous martyrs, who sacrificed their precious souls for the sake of our homeland and in defense of its citizens.
Egypt shall forever remain, through the unity of its people, the valor of its armed forces, and the divine providence of Allah the Almighty, with head held high in dignity, demonstrating a resilient spirit and invincible strength, upholding justice and resolutely rejecting oppression.
Many happy returns, with Egypt in safety, prosperity, and progress
Always and forever
Long Live Egypt
Long Live Egypt
Long Live Egypt
May Allah's peace and blessings be upon you.
'On the glorious Sinai Liberation Anniversary, I extend my sincere greetings to the great people of Egypt. I renew my pledge to continue building and protecting the soil of this nation, watered by the blood of heroes, and to preserve the people's resources, relying on Allah the Almighty and the unity of citizens and their awareness of the magnitude of the challenges.
Forever,
long live Egypt,
long live Egypt,' said President Sisi.

UN Member States to Adopt Voluntary Political Declaration to Solve Marine Crisis

Rana Atef More than 2,000 scientists and advocates from at least 100 countries participated in the One Ocean Science Congress, dedicated to the increasing marine crisis. 'The ocean is suffering at the cause of humanity,' said the Mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, who spoke at the opening ceremony on Tuesday. She added, 'Either we save our oceans or the entire race will pay.' Rising sea temperatures due to global warming, ocean acidification, plastic pollution, and offshore oil and gas developments are some of the threats plaguing the ocean. 'Sound research shows global human health is intrinsically linked to a healthy ocean,' said Peter Thomson, the United Nations secretary-general's special envoy for the ocean. The ocean greatly contributes to producing more than half of the oxygen humans breathe, in addition to balancing Earth temperatures by absorbing excess heat and carbon dioxide. 3 billion people depend on the ocean for their daily activities, according to the United Nations. But, at the congress's opening ceremony, Thomson said, 'the ocean's health is currently, measurably in decline.' Now is the time to chart a new future for the ocean, he said. 'Faith has been placed upon this congress to serve as the scientific pillar of the U.N. Ocean Conference,' said Thomson. He added: 'We're expecting that the scientifically compiled conclusions of this congress will inform the leaders and the representatives of governments and civil society who will be attending the conference.' By the end of the oceans summit, U.N. member states intend to adopt a voluntary political declaration that will promote the conservation and sustainable use of oceans, seas and marine resources called 'Our Ocean, Our Future: United for Urgent Action.' read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan
