The Canadiens announced Saturday morning they have loaned goalie Cayden Primeau and forward Oliver Kapanen to the AHL's Laval Rocket.

The Rocket beat the Monsters 4-0 Friday night in Cleveland to take a 2-0 lead in their best-of-five North Division semifinal series. Goalie Jacob Fowler made 20 saves for the shutout, while the Rocket got goals from Jared Davidson, Lucas Condotta, Alex Barré-Boulet and Gustav Lindstrom.

The Rocket beat the Monsters 3-2 in Game 1 Wednesday night in Cleveland with Fowler stopping 23 of the 25 shots he faced. In his first two AHL playoff games, Fowler has a 2-0 record with a 1.00 goals-against average and a .956 save percentage. The 20-year-old, selected by the Canadiens in the third round (69th overall) of the 2023 NHL Draft, won the Mike Richter Award this season as the best goalie in NCAA Division 1 after posting a 25-7-2 record with a 1.63 GAA, a .940 save percentage and seven shutouts with Boston College.

Klapka, six-foot-eight and 235 pounds, had six goals and four assists and 29 penalty minutes in 31 games for the Flames this past season. The 24-year-old Czech spent the rest of the season with the AHL's Wranglers, where he had 14 goals and 12 assists in 33 games. Klapka had three goals and three assists in Calgary's final nine games of the regular season, while delivering a team-high 32 hits in April. A right-handed shot, Klapka averaged 12 minutes 43 seconds of ice time per game in the NHL this past season. Klapka also represented Czechia at the men's world championship in May when he scored twice and had an assist in five games. Calgary signed him as a free agent May 16, 2022.
