A man has been shot in the buttock in a drive-by shooting, police have said. Officers were called to Fountains Road in Walton, Liverpool, just after 21:00 GMT on Friday but the victim had already left the scene and attended hospital.Officers said they believed the driver of a car had pulled up alongside him before a passenger in the back of the car opened a door and fired a gun.The victim's injuries were not life-threatening, Merseyside Police said.
The force has appealed for help in identifying the driver and two passengers in a dark car used in the attack.Det Insp Mike Fletcher added: "Any information provided will be acted upon. Help us to put the person responsible for firing the gun where he belongs - behind bars."He said more officers would be on patrol "to reassure the local community", while investigators carry out forensic examinations and house-to-house inquiries.
