New free streaming platform launching with TV favourites from BBC, ITV and Channel 4
A new free telly channel is set to debut, featuring favourites from broadcasters such as BBC, ITV and Channel 4.
Everyone TV, the group behind the free streaming platform Freely, has announced a significant agreement with global streaming giant Roku.
In a massive leap for Freely's growth, the free streaming service will be accessible on the next generation of smart tellies powered by Roku's operating system.
Supported by the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and 5, Freely includes all their live channels and players.
It also provides content offerings from GB News, U&Dave, and PBS America, reports the Express.
As if that wasn't enough, a launch later this year will see 16 new streamed channels showcasing programmes from UK public service broadcasters including The Chase, GPs Behind Closed Doors, Police Interceptors, The Yorkshire Vet, Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly and more.
Currently, Roku holds the top spot for telly streaming platforms in the US, Canada and Mexico, and has reached over 90 million households globally.
After launching in the UK in 2012, Roku TV models and streaming players have become available at all major retailers online and across the country.
Freely launched in April this year, and has given viewers the chance to binge more on demand content than any streaming service in the UK, with access to 97% of the nation's favourite shows.
Everyone TV's CEO, Jonathan Thompson, stated: "Offering Freely on the Roku operating system is a major milestone for us, as we continue to expand reach for the free streaming platform.
"We're delighted that as a huge global player, Roku has recognised the importance of easy and seamless access to public service broadcast content for UK audiences and I look forward to seeing Freely smart TVs with Roku in market this summer."
Roku's UK Country Manager, Richard Halton, added: "Roku believes that all TV will be streamed. We are excited to partner with Freely and continue our collaboration with UK broadcasters. Together we will bring the best content discovery experience to viewers across the UK.
"We look forward to unveiling our new Roku TV models with Freely built-in, which will be available from UK retailers this summer."
This month, Roku TV models with Freely will be available, starting with Sharp, Polaroid, and METZ.

Hisense TV with 'excellent picture and colour quality' sees lowest price in weeks
Amazon has cut the price of a budget Hisense TV to one of the cheapest prices this month Looking for a good TV for a great price can be tough nowadays, especially with all the choices and expensive options on the market. We've spotted a deal which could put one Hisense TV model on your shopping list. The Hisense 32E4QTUK LED TV has dropped in price to the lowest in 30 days on Amazon at a very commendable £159. The lowest it has been in 30 days. This Hisense gogglebox isn't the most flashy and only comes with a 32-inch 1080p screen, but it's perfect for a spare room or bedroom and even comes with Dolby Atmos sound. Brilliant Shark fan that's saved me this summer has £50 off as UK heatwave arrives' 63p-a-day supplement for menopausal women that helps them 'feel like their old selves' It also has Freely built in, which means shoppers can say goodbye to the aerial. This amazing platform allows watchers to easily browse and watch live TV channels and on-demand content in one seamless and intuitive interface, all streamed directly to their TV via the internet. It also has a crisp, colourful screen thanks to its direct-lit full array, which benefits from having a grid of tightly packed individual LEDs positioned directly behind the screen covering the whole of the panel. This allows Brits to enjoy crisp, vivid colours and deep blacks from edge to edge. For those looking for some alternatives, there's also plenty of options to choose from. There's this 4K Samsung 50-inch TV that is available for £259. It boasts a 4.1-star rating from reviewers and has been praised as 'easy to set up' with 'great build quality'. One shopper noted: "Very good price and great features and build quality." Shoppers could also consider a Sky Glass Gen 2 for those wanting to upgrade without a hefty upfront cost. Prices start from £14 a month across 48months or £699 up front, and plans start at £15. Reviewers have also called the device "absolutely cracking." The same reviewer added: "It's not the thinnest TV but is feature-packed. It's a good size and has a nice quality picture, as well as really good sound, too. It has more or less any app you can imagine. It's easy to set up and use with a fully functional remote control. For the money, you can't go wrong!" Another reviewer added, "Great value for money with this Hisense TV. The picture and colour quality are excellent, especially given the price. The sound quality is good, but could be better. But again, given the price, I can't complain. It's lightweight, quick, and simple to set up, and it has all the apps and features you need at the click of a button. "It connects to WiFi well, and the signal strength is great. I highly recommend this TV!" However some shoppers did have issues setting it up. One shopper added: "Legs were fiddly to attach. The screws for some reason weren't going in properly. "The ITVX app doesn't have the live TV feature, which is super annoying. Apart from that, it's a decent TV for the price but it's not amazing. It will just do for now."

The Chase's Mark Labbett issued warning by co-star after 'ups and downs'
The Chase's Mark Labbett issued warning by co-star after 'ups and downs' EXCLUSIVE: The Chase star Mark Labbett is one of the famous faces hoping to find love on this year's Celebs Go Dating, following his split from Hayley Palmer last year Mark Labbett is best known as The Beast on The Chase (Image: ITV) The Chase's Mark Labbett seems to have had quite the ride on the new series of Celebs Go Dating, according to one of the show's experts Anna Williamson. Following his split from Hayley Palmer last year, the quizmaster is on a mission to find new love with the help of dating experts Anna, Paul C Brunson, and Dr Tara Suwinyattichaiporn. After announcing his break-up, Mark said he'd been living "quietly" in Yorkshire, and embracing life as a singleton. Now ready to step out of his comfort zone and date again, he has put his love life in the hands of the dating gurus. Ahead of his dates being shown on screen, Anna, 44, shared what he was like during the process. She said: "Mark is probably one of the most fascinating celebrities we've ever had. Let's just say, for me, he's an appointment to view. He gives us it all!". Hinting at some clashes during filming, she added: "He has a few ups and downs with us agents, I will throw that out there. Mark is definitely a force to be reckoned with and I think he met his reckoning force in us." Issuing a warning, Anna continued: "Let's just say we don't tolerate any clap back in the agency." Mark Labbett is on a quest to find love on Celebs Go Dating Article continues below The relationship expert emphasised that any confrontations with the celeb daters come from a good place, adding: "We run a tight ship at the agency and as professionals, we will always hold our boundaries. "We are not there to make friends we are there to coach people," she stated, though admitted it was hard not to become "extremely fond" of some of them. The Chase star has openly confessed that he is "terrible" at dating, though has praised the dating experts for the advice and guidance they gave him. He revealed: "Well, I would say I was terrible, but apparently, according to the agents, I did a bit better than that. So I have a rule in life and that is when you chat to an expert, listen to them. Take it on board. And I will blow my own trumpet. "I did listen to them and hopefully, I got a bit better at dating as a result of this." Celebs Go Dating stars Anna Williamson, Paul C Brunson, Dr Tara Suwinyattichaiporn and Tom Read Wilson When asked about the specific guidance he received, he said there were "suggestions of flirting" which "didn't feel natural" to him. "But the major one there was to really listen and take an interest and I have got to say that kind of worked," he further commented to Channel 4. According to The Sun, the quizmaster has been enjoying time with a dating hopeful from the show who he "instantly connected" with. Article continues below A source said the duo have been "getting to know each other away from the cameras" and claimed that 'Mark discovered a lot about himself through the coaching on the series".
