Who Was Sara Burack? Prominent Real Estate Agent Who Was Featured on Netflix's 'Million Dollar Beach House' Killed in Hit-and-Run in Hamptons

A prominent real estate agent, who specialized in luxury properties and appeared on the popular Netflix series "Million Dollar Beach House", was tragically killed by a hit-and-run driver in the Hamptons on Thursday afternoon, according to police and media reports.
Sara Burack, 40, was found unresponsive by police officers on a road in Hampton Bays just before 3 p.m., police said, as reported by Newsday. The driver who hit and killed her fled the scene and has not yet been identified or arrested. The investigation at the scene was conducted by detectives from the Southampton Town Police and the New York State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit, according to Dan's Papers.
Police Clueless About Suspect
Police have not yet identified any witnesses or obtained details about the vehicle involved in the incident that hit Burack and left her dying on the road, according to Dan's Papers. Burack was featured on a Netflix reality series that showcased competitive real estate agents going head-to-head in the luxury market.
"The competition is fierce — and the drama undeniable — as a group of young and hungry agents try to seal the deal on luxury listings in the Hamptons," according to the show's description on Netflix's website.
Burack earlier worked as a real estate agent with Nest Seekers International, a firm specializing in high-end properties in Manhattan and the Hamptons, according to Newsday.
Although she left the company over a year ago, she remained in contact, Geoff Gifkins, the Hamptons regional manager for Nest Seekers, told the outlet.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with family and friends," Gifkins said in a message. "Please be kind and respectful as this is a tremendous loss to her parents and close friends."
Friends and Family Devastated
Paulette Corsair, a real estate agent and longtime family friend, told Newsday that Burack will be remembered for her kindness and her efforts in raising funds for causes in New York City. "I want people to remember she was an amazing person who really cared for people," Corsair told Newsday.
"She was a hardworking real estate agent who was there for others. She was loved greatly by her friends and a close family."
Burack shared in an interview that her family owned a commercial construction and materials supply business, where she worked for several years before moving into the high-end luxury real estate industry.
"I have always been intrigued by real estate projects and decided to become a broker after my experience as a summer property manager in the summer house I would rent," she told Hamptons.com.
Before to the show's release, Burack referred to "Million Dollar Beach House" as a glimpse into the extravagant lifestyles of the wealthy and those aiming for fame in the upscale seaside enclave.
"Viewers will be taken into the world of the Hamptons where they will see not only beautiful multimillion-dollar beach homes and estates, but will be shown summer in the Hamptons," she told Hamptons.com. "With scenes from broker open houses, polo games, yacht life and more, there is sure to be an awww from viewers!"

British Netflix hit Adolescence to be shown in French schools

Adolescence tells the story of a 13-year-old boy who stabs a girl to death after being radicalised on the internet. PHOTO: AFP PARIS – British Netflix drama Adolescence, which has sparked widespread debate about the toxic and misogynistic influences to which young boys are exposed online, can now be shown in French secondary schools, a minister has said. The initiative follows a precedent set in Britain. The producer of the series broadcast on Netflix has 'opened up the rights to us', and the French Education Ministry will 'offer five educational sequences to young people based on this series', Education Minister Elisabeth Borne told LCI TV late on June 8. These excerpts from the mini-series are 'very representative of the violence that can exist among young people', Ms Borne said. She added that the excerpts would be shown in secondary schools to children from the age of around 14 onwards. Such materials are intended to help raise awareness of the problem of 'overexposure to screens and the trivialisation of violence on social networks', as well as the spread of so-called masculinist theories – misogynistic spheres that advocate violence against women, said Ms Borne. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer called the move to screen the show – in which a 13-year-old boy stabs a girl to death after being radicalised on the internet – 'an important initiative' that would help start conversations about the content teenagers consume online. Adolescence, which was released on March 13, follows the aftermath of the schoolgirl's fatal stabbing, revealing the dangerous influences to which boys are subjected online and the secret meaning youngsters are giving to seemingly innocent emojis. The series has resonated with an audience increasingly disturbed by a litany of shocking knife crimes committed by young people and the misogynistic rhetoric of influencers like Andrew Tate. As of June 1, Adolescence reached a total of 141.2 million views, making it Netflix's second most watched English-language series ever, according to industry magazine Variety. Maxwell Anderson Watched Netflix Series on Dismemberment Before Killing, Dismembering Sade Robinson on Their First Date

Maxwell Anderson, 34, was convicted by a jury on Friday, June 6, of killing, dismembering 19-year-old Sade Robinson on the night of their first date. The jury announced the verdict after taking less than an hour to arrive at the decision to convict Anderson of first-degree intentional homicide or first-degree reckless homicide. Anderson was also found guilty on charges of intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse, hiding a corpse and arson. Anderson Watched 'Love, Death & Robots' on Netflix with Robinson Blascoe, a 33-year-old social worker, told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal that it was revealed in a post-trial meeting with the prosecution that on the night of Robinson's murder, Anderson turned on the Netflix series "Love, Death & Robots" with Robinson inside the home. During the final episode of volume two of the animated series, a corpse is dismembered on a beach. The prosecution believes Anderson dismembered Robinson on a small beach at Warnimont Park in Cudahy. "I was like, oh, ... that's disgusting because that could have been where he got some of his ideas or fantasies," Blascoe told the outlet. Anderson Disposed Off Robinson's Dismembered Remains Around Milwaukee County Investigators believe Anderson killed her on their first date on April 1, 2024, dismembered her body and spread her remains around Milwaukee County. Robinson was last seen alive at Anderson's home. Her arm was found at a Waukegan beach. The jury was shown disturbing and graphic images of Robinson inside Anderson's home that were later deleted from his phone. Among the images was a graphic photo of Anderson holding Robinson's right breast as she lay incapacitated. Robinson's right breast is among her body parts that haven't been recovered. They were also shown grainy or darkened footage that showed Anderson driving Robinson's car before torching it outside an abandoned home on the city's north side. Anderson had planned to kill Robinson weeks before her death, according to a statement from a "confidential informant" noted in court filings FOX6 News obtained. A search warrant also revealed prosecutors believe Anderson tried to cover up Robinson's death with a text message. Anderson faces a mandatory life sentence in prison when he's sentenced Aug. 15.
