With Stephen Curry out of the lineup for the Warriors (7), their defense has played well enough to keep two of their first three Western Conference Semifinal games vs. the Wolves (6) close.
But despite entering the fourth quarter of Game 3 with a 73-69 lead on Saturday night, the Warriors struggled to get stops down the stretch, especially over the final 4:38 after Draymond Green left the game following his sixth foul.
The Warriors were able to keep Game 3 close thanks to Jimmy Butler III (33 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists) and Jonathan Kuminga (30 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists), but they'll need much more offensively from Brandin Podziemski and Draymond Green, who combined for 7 points in Game 3, to even the series tonight.

Wolves vs. Warriors Game 4 Player Props
Jonathan Kuminga Over 17.5 Points (-110 at DraftKings) -- 1 unit
The Western Conference Semifinals went sideways for the Warriors before halftime of Game 1, as Stephen Curry left the series opener in the second quarter (even though they ended up winning that game anyway).
With Curry out of the lineup due to his hamstring injury and Golden State now holding longer than 5-to-1 odds to advance, Kuminga's play has been by far the biggest positive development for the Curry-less Warriors.
The up-and-down fourth-year forward was out of the rotation for most of the first-round series between the Warriors and Rockets. He was huge for Golden State in Game 3, though, with 30 points in 35 minutes. He also finished that game as the only Warrior with a positive plus-minus, at +5, which all but guarantees him another heavy workload in Game 4.
Based on his usage rate of 25 percent or greater in all three games in this series -- including 28.8 in Game 3 -- Kuminga should once again have the ball in his hands a ton tonight. If his usage rate is 25 percent or higher, again, in extended minutes, another 20-point night should be well within reach.
So, in addition to taking Kuminga to go over 17.5 points, also consider Kuminga 20+ points. This prop is particularly tempting at +146 at FanDuel given that DraftKings lists it at +100 as of Monday afternoon.
Wolves vs. Warriors Game 4 Pick, Best Bets
We wrote before Game 3 that it didn't feel like this version of the Warriors could score enough to take down the Wolves. That nearly backfired after Butler and Kuminga came out hot.
But Minnesota, which has made a habit of finishing strong in the playoffs, outscored Golden State 33-24 to go up 2-1.
The Timberwolves have now won the fourth quarter in all of their playoff games, and they've done so by a margin of at least six in seven of their eight postseason contests to date. The Wolves outscored the Lakers in the fourth quarter by a total of 42 points across five games, and they've outscored the Warriors by 22 total points through three games, as detailed below:
Game 1: MIN 28, GSW 19 (+9)
Game 2: MIN 32, GSW 28 (+4)
Game 3: MIN 33, GSW 24 (+9)
With Golden State leaning heavily on veterans Butler and Draymond Green, I expect the Wolves to once again own the fourth quarter tonight. That should allow them to cover this spread, even if it's tight (and/or the Warriors are ahead) entering the fourth.
And if you're wondering whether it's possible to take an alt spread for a particular quarter, I have great news for you: MIN 4th Quarter -3.5 is available at +157 at DraftKings.
Wolves vs. Warriors Game 4 Best Bets:
Wolves -5.5 (-110 at bet365) -- 1 unit
Wolves 4th Quarter Alt Spread -3.5 (+157 at DK) -- 0.5 units

Two Lakers preseason games will be on national television

A little over six weeks from now, the Los Angeles Lakers will open their preseason schedule for the 2025-26 NBA season. That schedule will become a bit hectic, as it features a set of back-to-back games and a stretch of four games in six days, but it will give fans an opportunity to see the intriguing roster the team has put together before wins and losses start to officially count. Two of those preseason contests will be shown nationwide on ESPN, which will allow Lakers fans outside of the greater Los Angeles area to tune in live. The team's Oct. 5 matchup against the Golden State Warriors and its Oct. 15 game against the Dallas Mavericks will be televised on the network. These are obviously two marquee matchups. The first will feature Stephen Curry, and the second will give Luka Doncic the opportunity to take on his former teammates, as well as allow LeBron James to take the court against former teammates Anthony Davis, D'Angelo Russell and Max Christie. The Lakers' regular season begins on Oct. 21 at Arena versus the Warriors. That game will be shown on NBC. Golden State Warriors jersey history - No. 20 - Ekpe Udoh (2010-12)

The Golden State Warriors have had over 600 players don the more than 60 jersey numbers used by their players over the more than 75 years of existence the team has enjoyed in its rich and storied history. Founded in 1946 during the Basketball Association of America (BAA -- a precursor league of the NBA) era, the team has called home the cities of Philadelphia, San Francisco, Oakland, and even San Diego. To commemorate the players who wore those numbers, Warriors Wire is covering the entire history of jersey numbers and the players who sported them since the founding of the team. For this article, we begin with the 23rd of 29 players who wore the No. 20 jersey for the Warriors. That player would be Golden State big man alum Ekpe Udoh. After ending his college career at Baylor, Udoh was picked up with the sixth overall selection of the 2010 NBA Draft by the Dubs. The Edmond, Oklahoma native would play parts of the first two seasons of his pro career with Golden State, coming to an end when he was dealt to the Milwaukee Bucks in 2012. During his time suiting up for the Warriors, Udoh wore only jersey No. 20 and put up 4.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game. All stats and data courtesy of Basketball Reference.

Insider Drops Jarring Contract Update for Al Horford, Warriors

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The general consensus is that Al Horford will be signing with the Golden State Warriors some point in the near future and that both sides are waiting to see what happens with Jonathan Kuminga first before any decisions are made. However, NBA insider Jake Fischer has dropped a rather striking update on Horford's potential contract with the Warriors, revealing that it may be a more lucrative — and lengthier — deal than initially anticipated. More news: New Boston Celtics Owner Issues Tough Challenge to Joe Mazzulla "Al Horford's situation is a bit different, because depending on where the Warriors land in the cap tax situation, I believe he is slated to potentially make upward of the full taxpayer mid-level exception," Fischer said. "There has also been some discussion about whether or not he could potentially be receiving a two-year deal with a player option on his deal, as well." Photo byMost were surely expecting Horford to sign a one-year contract this offseason, so the fact that the 39-year-old — who considered retirement a couple of years ago — could potentially land a multi-year pact is certainly an interesting development. "So for Al Horford to potentially be getting a player option in all of this, and something north of the veteran's minimum, would certainly be a come-up for the near-40-year-old center," Fischer added. Horford spent the last four seasons with the Boston Celtics in what was his second stint with the team. He played in 60 games and made 42 starts last year, averaging nine points and 6.2 rebounds over 27.7 minutes per game on 42.3/36.3/89.5 splits. More news: Warriors Linked to Polarizing Move for 3-Time All-Star The wily veteran is surely not the same player he was during his prime years, but he remains a very valuable supplementary contributor and would represent a major pickup for a Warriors team that is knocking on the door in the Western Conference. It looks fairly inevitable that Horford will sign with Golden State at some point, but when that actually becomes official remains to be seen.
