Dogecoin Alternatives: Top five choices in 2025

Advertorial
Spotlight Wire DOGE witnessed a significant surge to $0.73 in 2021 on a wave of meme hype and celebrity tweets, but it now hovers under $0.25. That legacy run shows potential, but without evolving utility or infrastructure, newer meme coins with stronger tech and narratives deserve attention as the next wave. From meme-layered ecosystems to utility-rich alternatives, these five coins are worth watching. These Dogecoin alternatives are leading the next wave of meme coin mania, whether for explosive growth potential or early entry advantages.
Little Pepe (LILPEPE): The Frog set to leap over giantsLittle Pepe isn't just another meme coin; it's a rapidly emerging force blending humour, community, and utility. In Stage 9 of its presale, $LILPEPE has already raised over $14.1 million, with nearly 10 billion tokens sold at $0.0018. Once this stage closes, prices rise to $0.0019, offering near-term gains for early supporters. But the project's ambition doesn't stop at token sales. Little Pepe is building its own Layer 2 blockchain, engineered for ultra-fast, low-cost DeFi transactions and sniper bot resistance, creating fairer trading experiences. It also stands out with a zero-tax model, enabling unrestricted trading and building trust with early adopters. What truly sets it apart is visibility: LILPEPE is already listed on CoinMarketCap, a rare feat for a presale token. Its massive $777,000 giveaway has boosted virality across X, Telegram, and the broader meme coin community. As upcoming CEX listings roll out, Little Pepe could leap into billions in market cap, posing a genuine challenge to Dogecoin's throne.
Dingocoin (DINGO): The underdog making a serious comeback Dingocoin has clawed back attention with a recent 10.93% daily gain, a 35.5% weekly gain, and a 55.2% 14-day surge. Its one-year growth and trading above its 200-day SMA suggest robust price action. Ranked among the top 100 crypto gainers, its low market cap of about $4.97 million and 60% green trading days reflect both upside potential and early-stage volatility. Liquidity remains low, but its multi-chain compatibility, grassroots development, and loyal community make DINGO a notable underdog. For traders looking for a high-risk, high-reward meme coin with surprising consistency, Dingocoin is pacing itself for something bigger.Floki Inu launches FlokiFi V3 Floki Inu is stepping out of meme-only territory and into utility mode. The project announced FlokiFi V3, introducing enhanced staking features, dynamic lock periods, and increased DeFi functionality. FLOKI has partnered with AI projects and robotics brands, emphasising utility beyond jokes. Trading at ~$0.00010, it has already gained 22× in recent cycles. Analysts projecting up to 11× further upside through early 2025 cite its consistent development and media visibility. For long-term memecoin plays grounded in utility, FLOKI might deliver where DOGE fell short.
Simon's Cat (CAT): The meme coin with real momentum CAT's rebrand and Bybit listing have pumped new life into this meme project. Trading volume hit $60 million in 24 hours, and its CertiK Skynet security score of 87.07 reassured cautious investors. CAT is up over 50% in just a month, and its daily liquidity ratio (1.44) ensures smooth trading even at higher volumes. Its rise from April low shows resilience, while the market cap nearing $83 million suggests significant room for growth. Simon's Cat might look like comic relief, but its fundamentals show it's more than fluff in a crowded meme market.
Doginme (DOGINME): Barking loud on the charts Doginme surged 6% today with a whopping 351% increase in 24-hour trading volume, hitting $12 million in daily trades. That's a strong signal that momentum is returning. While the short-term gains are modest—1.3% weekly, 0.4% in 14 days—its 192% annual growth and position above the 200-day SMA indicate it's primed for a larger breakout. DOGINME balances meme coin energy with real market performance. Though past highs haven't yet been retested, the growing interest from traders hints that it's just warming up for a longer run.
Conclusion
Dogecoin redefined meme coins, but it's now primarily a legacy play. The next generation of meme tokens combines purpose, tech, and community energy in ways DOGE never could. LILPEPE stands out with its Layer-2 infrastructure and presale meteoric rise. For traders seeking fresh narratives and higher upside than DOGE today, these coins may offer the fast track to outsized gains if their trajectory stays intact through 2025.

Trump fires Billy Long as IRS commissioner two months after he was confirmed: Who is he?

US President Donald Trump abruptly removed Billy Long, the former auctioneer and Republican congressman, who was confirmed less than two months ago as head of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Trump administration said on Friday. Billy Long will no longer serve as the tax agency's head. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent will oversee the agency as acting IRS commissioner, the New York Times reported. It was not immediately clear why Long was dismissed. His quick exit makes him the shortest-tenured IRS commissioner confirmed by the Senate since the position was created in 1862. Billy Long is a former Missouri congressman. While in Congress, where Billy Long served from 2011 to 2023, Long sponsored legislation to get rid of the IRS. A former auctioneer and real estate broker, Long has no background in tax administration. He also hosted a radio talk show from 1999 to 2006 'on which the IRS was always a hot topic,' according to his biography on the agency's website. After leaving Congress to mount an unsuccessful 2022 bid for the US Senate, Long worked with a firm that distributed the pandemic-era employee retention tax credit, the AP reported. That tax credit program was eventually shut down after then-IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel determined that it was fraudulent. Long wrote on social media that he would be nominated to become the next US ambassador to Iceland. 'It is a honor to serve my friend President Trump and I am excited to take on my new role as the ambassador to Iceland,' Long wrote. 'I am thrilled to answer his call to service and deeply committed to advancing his bold agenda. Exciting times ahead," he added. Long's departure comes after the agency underwent a series of DOGE-related job cuts this year. Long, who had little background in tax policy beyond promoting a fraud-riddled tax credit, had clashed at times with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent during his brief tenure, sources told the New York Times. He allegedly made high-profile mistakes, at one point last month telling tax practitioners that the agency's all-important filing season would start late next year, a statement that the IRS later said was premature.

Cryptocurrency Live News & Updates : Harvard Reveals $116M Investment in BlackRock Bitcoin ETF

Cryptocurrency News & Live Updates In a significant move, Harvard Management Company has reported a $116 million investment in BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust, highlighting the growing trend of institutional adoption of bitcoin ETFs. This comes as total assets in U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs surge, driven by both retail and institutional investments. Meanwhile, Aerodrome Finance's token, AERO, surged over 25% following Coinbase's integration of decentralized exchange trading, marking a notable increase in trading volume. Additionally, Exodus has partnered with Superstate to tokenize its shares on Solana, aiming to enhance digital asset adoption. In Switzerland, Sui's token (SUI) saw a 4% rise as Sygnum Bank expanded its services for institutional clients, indicating a broader acceptance of blockchain technology among regulated financial institutions. Lastly, the launch of the satirical memecoin Solfart has captured attention, with its ambitious liquidity goals and unique marketing approach, positioning it as a potential contender in the memecoin space. Together, these developments reflect a dynamic and evolving landscape in the cryptocurrency market, with traditional finance increasingly intersecting with digital assets. Harvard disclosed a $116 million stake in BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust as of June 30, signaling increased institutional interest in spot bitcoin ETFs. Aerodrome Finance's AERO token surged over 25% in 24 hours, driven by Coinbase's DEX integration, resulting in a significant spike in trading volume. Exodus partners with Superstate to tokenize its shares on the Solana blockchain, aiming to enhance digital asset adoption and public capital markets. SUI's price increased to $3.82 after Sygnum Bank introduced custody and trading services for institutional clients, marking a significant expansion in regulated access to the blockchain. The satirical memecoin Solfart, created by crypto veterans Mark Zuckerfart and Fart McSatoshi, aims to build a $6 million liquidity pool, drawing attention with its humor and marketing strategies similar to Dogecoin and Bonk Inu. Shiba Inu's price has risen for three days, hitting $0.00001315, fueled by a significant 1,823% increase in its burn rate, although it still faces challenges like declining demand and underperformance in its layer-2 network, Shibarium. A negative net gamma exposure in the Deribit ether options market suggests a potential rally for ether (ETH) to $4,400, as dealers may be forced to buy to hedge their positions. The GLXU ETF offers enhanced exposure to Galaxy Digital, highlighting its role in crypto finance and investment banking, according to REX Financial's COO. Hyperliquid is testing a crucial resistance level at $42.24, which will determine its trend direction in the near future. A report by 10x Research reveals ongoing market challenges, including low volatility and seasonal weakness, as Trump's push for cryptocurrency access in 401(k) accounts stirs cautious sentiment. Bao Fan, founder of China Renaissance, has been released after his detention in February 2023, though he will no longer manage the company, which is focusing on expanding digital asset services. Foresight News reports that CrediX suffered a cyberattack on August 4, leading to a loss of $4.4 million. The platform's website has been offline since the incident, and its social media presence is currently inactive.

Katie Miller leaves Elon Musk to launch her own bold new podcast aimed at shaking up MAGA media

Katie Miller, wife of former White House official Stephen Miller, has officially exited her role working closely with Elon Musk to launch her own podcast. Previously serving in a top position at the Department of Government Efficiency (also known as DOGE), Miller followed Musk out of government in May but has now pivoted toward building her own voice in conservative media. According to her interview with Axios, Miller aims for her show to become a 'conservative answer to 'Call Her Daddy,'' providing a fresh, female-centric perspective on politics, lifestyle, and culture. Filling a Unique Niche for Conservative Moms In her launch announcement currently captioned with only around 30 views Miller noted the absence of online spaces tailored for conservative women, especially working mothers. "There isn't a place for a mom like me, mom of three young kids, trying to do a career," she said. The podcast aims to be a candid and inclusive space for real conversations with guests from across the political spectrum. Nonetheless, Miller appears committed to carving out a new path focused on engaging conservative women in a bold, modern format. FAQs: Q1. What is a podcast? A1.
