Showjumper accuses underage girl of faking messages about ‘threesome he had with her and 26-year-old horse rider'

A SHOWJUMPER today accused an underage girl of faking messages about an alleged threesome he made her have with him and a horse rider. Guy Simmonds, 37, and Lauren Jarvis, 26, are accused of targeting the girl despite knowing she was under 16. 4 Lauren Jarvis allegedly had a threesome with a teenage girl Credit: WNS 4 Guy Simmonds is accused of abusing the girl in a horsebox Credit: WNS Equestrian boss Simmonds called himself "daddy" in messages to the youngster and would abuse her while his girlfriend was away, jurors heard. Cardiff Crown Court heard that in January 2024, he messaged fellow rider Jarvis to organise a threesome at her home - asking when he should "pop over". Simmonds then allegedly text the girl to inform her of the plan, telling her: "You will both do what daddy says." The girl told the court Simmonds got her and Jarvis to "do stuff" with each other before he had sex with both of them. Read more news He today claimed the girl had lied about the encounter and accused her of creating bogus WhatsApp conversations after he rejected her. Simmonds suggested to jurors she may have used a "pranking' app to create the messages or even messaged herself from another device while using his name. He added: 'I believe the messages to be fake.' Jurors heard previously Simmonds messaged Jarvis after the alleged threesome to say: "You both loved that haha". Most read in The Sun Jarvis then replied: "Yeah, you missed round two" with a wink emoji. They later hatched a "pact of silence" when they got wind that the girl was talking about the alleged threesome, the court heard. Simmonds text Jarvis, saying: "Hey, I have a feeling that [name of alleged victim] has said about us. "If anyone asks for sake of both of us nothing ever happened that night xx." Jarvis replied: "Hey, who's she told? Oh god has she really, what's she trying to do, make our lives hell? Of course I will xx." The messages also showed Simmonds messaged Jarvis before the encounter, saying: "I don't want to turn up at the same time that her mum drops her off." But he claimed today he only sent the text as he was "cheating" and knew the girl and her mum knew his partner. Simmonds also told the court the girl had previously made him and his partner feel 'uncomfortable' by using 'inappropriate' language about sex. He said: 'There were rumours that she was telling people that I had been trying it on with her. I was worried. 'The horse world is very small. I wanted to keep my reputation. She was a very volatile person.' Simmonds ran a riding school that offered "showjumping horse production and sales, coaching and schooling" in the village of Undy in Wales. He added the girl on Facebook and told her "thanks for accepting" before being told her age, it is said. The experienced showjumper would allegedly regularly take the girl into a horsebox to sexually abuse her while they were alone at the stables. Jurors heard that at one point, this was happening every couple of days when Simmonds' girlfriend was away. The alarm was raised when the girl told her dad what had allegedly happened and he alerted police. In her police interview, the girl said she felt she could not just walk away because she was scared Simmonds would "hurt me". She added: "I wasn't smiling and stuff when this was going on. If you looked at my face you could tell there was fear." The girl claimed there was one occasion where Simmonds took out his phone and allegedly began filming her. She told police he had a "little smirk on his face", the court heard. Simmonds later dumped his mobile in a bin at a Tesco just days before he was arrested for alleged sexual contact with a child. He denied he was attempting to destroy evidence - and claimed the phone was broken when he was quizzed by police. The court heard he also burned or threw away a mattress from his horse box where he is accused of repeatedly having sex with the victim. Simmonds told police he did not have any form of sexual contact with the victim. He also claimed any messages about a threesome were "banter and a wind up." Simmonds denies six counts of sexual activity with a child, while Jarvis has pleaded not guilty to one charge of sexual activity with a child. Man who attempted to pervert course of justice after raping partner jailed for 10 years

A man who attempted to pervert the course of justice after raping his partner in Co Monaghan has been jailed for 10 years. The man (54), who cannot be named to protect the victim's identity, was found guilty by a jury of raping and sexually assaulting the woman on March 13th, 2024. He was also convicted of one count of assault causing harm on the same date. The man pleaded guilty on a separate bill on June 18th this year to attempting to pervert the course of justice after he tried to halt the prosecution by calling the woman's friend from a prison landline to get the victim to withdraw her complaint. The Central Criminal Court heard he has 13 previous convictions including road-traffic offences and public-order breaches. READ MORE The court was told he had a problem with alcohol and, when questioned by gardaí, denied raping the victim and put the blame on her, saying she drank too much. Sentencing the man on Tuesday, Ms Justice Mary Ellen Ring said that among the aggravating factors was his attitude when questioned. 'It is noted that the evidence of difficulty with alcohol is all at the door of [the accused] as confirmed by his previous convictions,' she said. The shifting of blame, his untrue suggestion the two were planning to marry and breaching of court orders showed an unwillingness to take personal responsibility for his actions. They were are all aggravating features in the case, the judge said. Garda Edward Hammond told the court the victim advertised for a lodger who would help with the rent. The accused moved in and they formed an intimate relationship. The victim said when she first met the man in July 2023 he was polite and courteous. He then changed and she suggested ending the relationship as alcohol appeared more frequently. The accused was intoxicated and in March 2024 the victim asked him to leave. He refused and when she said she was leaving, he assaulted her and put his hand around her neck in a choking mechanism. He brought her to the ground, kicked her in the legs and dragged her to a bedroom where he vaginally raped her. The court heard he also digitally penetrated her and he was shouting at and threatening her. The court heard the victim does not have good English but late in the evening of March 18th she attended the Garda station. The accused was arrested and he denied raping or sexually assaulting the victim. He told gardaí he and the woman were planning to get married and were also planning on holidaying together. He said she started drinking and this caused changes in her. The victim did not want to attend court and made a victim-impact statement which Patrick Gageby SC, prosecuting, read. She said he 'changed my life for the worse. I now live in constant fear for the sake of my life and my family.'

But while going through screening after flying into Heathrow, immigration officials discovered the twisted clips. But he was spared jail at Isleworth Crown Court "because of his fear of repercussions refusing to fight" in Yemen. Read more news Al-Haddad was later seen giving a thumbs up as he walked free after being filmed outside court. He also tried to deny any knowledge of the source of the videos, saying: "I don't know. I explained them (the court) everything (sic)." The court was told Al-Haddad's asylum application was pending, but he is allowed to live and work in Plymouth , Devon. John Hunter, defending, said: "Although the defendant entered the country as an asylum seeker, he is now working in a restaurant. Most read in The Sun "He receives a monthly income of around £781 a month. He gives most to his wife and child back in Yemen, and he hopes to bring them to this country to live with him." Al-Haddad, who used an Arabic interpreter during proceedings, claimed the images were sent to him by a friend on WhatsApp. Judge Fiona Barrie handed him a 30-week sentence, suspended for a year. Al-Haddad was also be made subject to a sexual harm prevention order for ten years and 150 hours of unpaid work. The judge said: "The category A video involves an act of bestiality which is grotesque and is depraved. "You should do well to remember that this is a real child who has experienced this abuse, and those are significant aggravating factors. "You claim you have no sexual interest in children and received the images from a WhatsApp group. "But I share the concerns of the pre-sentence report which state that you are not entirely honest about that. "You have had those videos saved since August 2021, in your possession to view and certainly not deleted by you."
