Lancia Is Bringing Back the Delta HF Integrale
launched a new Ypsilon hatchback
, and soon, it'll revive the Gamma and Delta nameplates. Thanks to its unprecedented rally success, the Delta Integrale is one of Lancia's best-loved cars, and soon, it too will be back.
Autocar
brought our attention
to
a Tuesday release from Lancia
where the brand confirmed the "HF Integrale" name will return for high-performance versions of the Gamma and Delta. "HF" for those who don't know stands for High Fidelity, and it was a label Lancia used for some of its highest performing cars, like the Stratos, Delta 4x4, and Delta Integrale. Featuring a distinct elephant on the badge, Lancia
introduced the Ypsilon HF and HF Line last year

Lancia is also back in rallying with the Ypsilon Rally4 car and the Ypsilon HF Racing, homologated for the entry Rally6. In a release announcing the Ypsilon HF Racing and outlining the sub-brand's future, Lancia said "HF will become the defining feature of all the high-performance versions within the new Lancia lineup: today on the Ypsilon model and soon to appear in 2026 on the upcoming Gamma and Delta with the 'HF Integrale' label."
The HF Integrale name first appeared on the Delta in 1988 for an evolved version of the Delta HF 4x4 that was competing in Group A rally at the time. The Integrale was a homologation special for the Delta rally car, with four-wheel drive and a turbocharged four-cylinder that made the little hatchback extremely potent. It died in 1993 with the limited-production Evo II version. Its legend has only grown since.
Autocar
reports that the next Delta could be twinned with the Opel Mokka crossover. The new Delta will likely ride on Stellantis' CMP platform, which can accommodate both internal-combustion and all-electric power. Lancia hasn't said what will power the next Delta. But we do know that the hottest CMP platform cars, like the Ypsilon HF, Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce, and
recently announced Peugeot E-208 GTI
use an electric motor with 280 horsepower and 245 pound-feet of torque.
Autocar
suspects this is the drivetrain the Delta HF Integrale would get.
Lancia never made a performance version of the original Gamma, a luxury sedan and coupe built from 1976 to 1984.
Autocar
says the new Gamma will be a twin of the DS No8, the new flagship from Stellantis' French luxury brand.
Stellantis' rebirth of Lancia
isn't going well
. Despite the new Ypsilon, its sales were down 72% in May to just 5,627 cars. This comes amidst wider problems at Stellantis, which just appointed Antonio Filosa as CEO to finally replace the much-loathed Carlos Tavares.
The new Delta Integrale has huge shoes to fill, too. While Lancia's history has a great many cars, enthusiasts today love the Delta Integrale above all. So expectations are high.

NIO (NIO) Sees 25% Q2 Delivery Surge; Investors Hope It's More Than a One-Off
NIO (NIO, Financials) just turned in its best quarter in a while; and while the stock barely budged, long-term bulls have a reason to feel a little lighter. The Chinese EV maker said it delivered 24,925 vehicles in June a 17.5% jump from the same month last year. Stack that onto Q2 totals, and deliveries are now up more than 25% year over year; no small feat given the price wars still raging across China's EV landscape. Warning! GuruFocus has detected 3 Warning Signs with NIO. The breakdown tells a story of expansion. NIO's flagship premium line delivered 14,593 vehicles; ONVO its newer, family-first sub-brand added 6,400 units; and the final 3,932 vehicles came from other models across the lineup. It's no longer just about luxury sedans; NIO's aiming for driveways beyond downtown Beijing and Shanghai and it's starting to show. Still, the market didn't celebrate; shares were flat in early trading. That's probably less about the numbers and more about the bigger picture; Chinese EV stocks are under pressure, and sentiment's been shaky for months. Even with a solid quarter, investors are watching macro trends; not just monthly stats. Behind the delivery beat is a company that's been quietly pushing through a gauntlet chip shortages; battery cost swings; tightening margins; and aggressive discounting from bigger rivals like BYD and Tesla. Despite that, NIO has managed to maintain volume growth; and that's not just luck it's execution. But volume doesn't pay the bills margins do. And for NIO, margins are still under fire; especially as it tries to scale battery swap stations and double down on software integration. These are bold bets; necessary ones perhaps but costly all the same. Whether these investments pay off depends on what happens in the back half of the year; Q2 was strong, but the follow-through matters more. Subsidy shifts from Beijing haven't helped either; with policymakers now favoring strategic tech over blanket EV support, companies like NIO have to prove they belong on the winner's list not just the participation chart. That's the backdrop heading into Q3; a decent quarter on paper, yes but one that demands careful reading between the lines. Growth is holding; but costs, competition, and consumer fatigue are all pressing in. This article first appeared on GuruFocus. Polestar Says New 7 Is Coming in 2028, Following the 5 and 6
Polestar's all-electric family of cars and SUVs continues to expand beyond the Polestar 2, with the new Polestar 3 midsize SUV and slightly smaller, more coupe-like Polestar 4 recently joining the fold. Soon, the Polestar 5 "four-door GT" will arrive, and now comes news from Polestar that it has yet another model on the way, though it's a little farther out: The new Polestar 7, due by 2028. Polestar plans to release the Polestar 7, a compact electric SUV, by 2028, featuring shared components with Volvo's EVs. It will be more upright and SUV-like than the Polestar 4, likely resembling a smaller Polestar 3. Production will be in Slovakia to avoid tariffs. This summary was generated by AI using content from this MotorTrend article Read Next Don't read too much into Polestar's numerical naming scheme—it doesn't ladder up in the way other brands such as Audi go about it. In other words, the Polestar 7 isn't bigger or more luxurious than, say, the 5. It's pretty much just the order in which each model debuts, hence why the oldest (the Polestar 2) has the smallest number, and the newest (the Polestar 4) has the highest. The upcoming 5 is the next in line, with the 6 roadster presumably following that and beating this new 7 to market between now and 2028. Polestar's first standalone model was the Polestar 1, a high-priced, small volume plug-in hybrid performance coupe that was not replaced. So, what exactly is the Polestar 7? The automaker says it's a new compact electric SUV that will share components with Volvo's EVs. Per Polestar's announcement, the "Polestar 7 will utilize a technology base from Volvo Cars, benefiting from group component sharing, cell-to-body technology with next-generation battery density and performance, as well as the next generation of in-house developed e-motors. Adaptations will be made to create the driving experience and performance characteristics that Polestar is known for." Our best guess? That means it'll be Polestar's version of the upcoming Volvo EX60, its all-electric equivalent to the XC60 compact SUV. (Volvo's larger XC90 gained an electric analogue recently, the EX90; both are pictured below.) This suggests it'll be a two-row, all-electric SUV that's smaller than the midsize Polestar 3 (pictured above), and more affordable. Confusingly, the Polestar 4 also is a compact SUV—but one with a low, swoopy roofline and a streamlined, four-door coupe style shape. Luckily Polestar has handed out the moody photo at the top of this page depicting the 7 underneath a teasing sheet. Even viewed from dead-on, it seems pretty clear that the 7 is more upright, boxier, and SUV-like than the Polestar 4. We're guessing something like a shrunken Polestar 3 with unique lighting. We'll find out more in the coming years as the Polestar 7's on-sale date draws closer. For now, we know that the 7 will be built in Europe, specifically in Kosice, Slovakia. This should help ensure the 7 avoids the kind of tariffs that upended the recent launch of Volvo's EX30, which is being built in China but will see more capacity spring up in Belgium this year to help extricate that SUV from more severe import duties.
