Motherwell posted on X confirming the news, as the teenager said his goodbyes to the fans in an emotional video. Miller said: "I have spent most of my life here watching first-team games and to finally be a part of that was something special. 'They were moments I'll never forget. To get a debut so young, you don't expect the next season to play nearly ever game. 'It's all thanks to the managers I've worked under and I want to thank all of them. 'I came here as a young boy and watched. The goal was to play here in front of the fans. 'All I've ever known is Motherwell and for it all to change so quickly will be difficult - but I'm looking forward to it. 'Everybody has been great at the club. The managers, the fans and the players. I want to thank them. 'There are loads of experienced players in there who have said some kind words about me. 'It was a really special moment to captain the club in a cup semi-final. You don't get much better than that. 'I came in as a young boy and the fans took to me straight away and gave me the backing I needed to find my confidence and thrive at the club." Miller, 18, had been linked with moves to both Celtic and Rangers as well as other teams abroad - including French outfit Strasbourg, who have a strategic link with Premier League giants Chelsea. He is also understood to have knocked back Ipswich Town, who were one of several English clubs to have directly kept tabs on him. The son of former Aberdeen, Dundee United and Falkirk striker Lee Miller, midfielder Lennon broke into the Motherwell first team during the 2022/23 campaign. And the following season he enjoyed a truly breakout year, playing 32 times and scoring twice for the Fir Park side as a teenager. He had been in the youth system of the Lanarkshire club since he was seven. Miller was called up to the senior Scotland squad for the first time in March of this year and then made his full debut in June against Iceland. He now becomes the sixth active Scots player in Serie A (with a seventh, Liam Henderson, having just signed for Sampdoria in Serie B). Udinese have paid Motherwell a fee in the region of £4.5million for his services. The Serie A club posted on X, saying: "One of the brightest young talents in European football joins Udinese. "A modern midfielder, capable of combining technique, vision, and character, he arrives from Motherwell FC with a five-year contract." Kosta Runjaić's men finished 12th in the league last season, the Austrian's first as head coach. Udinese already have former Celtic striker Vakoun Bayo on their books, having signed him from Watford last summer. He was sent back on loan to Vicarage Road for the duration 2024/25 season however, scoring ten goals in 41 Championship appearances. But without doubt the most high-profile name amongst the squad is ex-Arsenal and Barcelona star Alexis Sanchez. Liverpool told Crystal Palace 'desperate' to sell Marc Guehi as £35m move edges closer
Liverpool have opened talks with Crystal Palace over a move for England star Marc Guehi, with their Premier League rivals reportedly eager to make a profit on the player this summer Liverpool have been informed that Crystal Palace are keen to offload Marc Guehi while they can still turn a profit on the defender. Guehi has entered the final year of his contract at Selhurst Park and discussions between the clubs have now commenced regarding a potential £35million transfer. The Reds have also been told that the Palace star surpasses Ibrahima Konate in ability. Palace supporter and broadcaster Rebecca Lowe has suggested the south London outfit are "desperate" to avoid losing Guehi for nothing next summer, with the Premier League champions braced for a hectic conclusion to the transfer window. Speaking on It's Called Soccer! alongside former Arsenal star Theo Walcott, Lowe reckons her cherished club have been touting the centre-half, whom they acquired from Chelsea for £18m in 2021, to competitors as they seek to secure a considerable sum for the England international while they can. Questions over Guehi establishing himself in Liverpool's first team have been an ongoing concern. However, Walcott believes the 25-year-old can oust Konate, 26, from his berth in Arne Slot's first XI, as he believes the Englishman has the advantage over the French star due to starting regularly for the Three Lions. "I do [think Guehi is better]," Walcott began. "Because when you look at England particularly and you talk about the centre halves, we're talking about the two best centre halves in the country when you're starting for England, and he's starting for England." Walcott's logic perhaps doesn't add up entirely when comparing the players against an international metric. Guehi has played 23 times for England, matching the number of appearances Konate has for Les Blues, while the latter has also captained his country on one occasion in November 2024. However, Walcott remains adamant the transfer would be worthwhile for the Reds as Guehi would make an immediate difference. "For Guehi, he would fit into that Liverpool team and they have the ball all the time, so he's not going to be challenged as much," Walcott added. "He'll get fitter, he'll learn so much. To play at Liverpool and be next to Virgil van Dijk, these opportunities might not come again." Liverpool are keen to strengthen their centre-back ranks having allowed Jarell Quansah to join Bayer Leverkusen earlier in the summer. Van Dijk, Konate and Joe Gomez represent their only three senior central defensive choices currently, with Konate entering the final 12 months of his deal and Gomez presently sidelined through injury. Palace chairman Steve Parish acknowledged earlier this week that losing the defender for nothing would pose a "problem" and that Guehi might leave during the current transfer window. And that now appears to be materialising. Liverpool have now made their approach with talks ongoing over a deal for Guehi for a fee understood to be £30m up front with £5m in add-ons. Personal terms have not yet been agreed with Guehi. However, he's reportedly eager to make the switch. The Reds' interest in Guehi is thought to be separate from their chase for Parma's centre-back Giovanni Leoni, as they also prepare to intensify their pursuit of the 18-year-old.

Jack Grealish Joins Everton On Loan From Manchester City In Bid To Reignite His Career
England midfielder Jack Grealish will look to reignite his career after joining Everton on a season-long loan deal from Manchester City on Tuesday. The 29-year-old Grealish, one of the poster boys of English soccer, became the country's most expensive player after a 2021 move from Aston Villa to City for 100 million pounds (then $139 million). He was a regular pick in City's historic 2022-23 season when the team won the Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup. However, Grealish has fallen out of favor over the last two seasons, not even making City's squad for the recent Club World Cup, and has chosen to move to Everton for a season ahead of the 2026 World Cup in North America. 'I'm over the moon to have signed for Everton — it's massive for me, honestly,' Grealish said of a team without a major trophy since 1995. 'This is a great club, with great fans." The loan switch removes not only a high-earner from City's wage bill but also one of the many attacking midfielders built up in City's stacked squad. Grealish often had a free, roaming role when making his name at Villa, but had to be more disciplined and restricted as a left-sided forward in City manager Pep Guardiola's system of play. Everton manager David Moyes will try to get the best out of Grealish again, with the team's first match of the Premier League season at Leeds on Monday. Everton's first game at its new 53,000-seat waterfront home at Bramley-Moore Dock is a week later against Brighton. 'As soon as I spoke to the manager, I knew there was only one place that I wanted to go,' Grealish said. Grealish has swapped a likely title-contending team for one expected to be midtable at best this season. 'It was a very strange decision for him, but you can see why: Because he wants to get into the national team,' former England international Steve McManaman said at an ESPN news conference in New York. Grealish said he spoke to former Everton player Wayne Rooney before agreeing to the move and will wear the same number — 18 — on the back of his jersey. 'There were other numbers but my two favorite English players ever are Wayne Rooney and Paul Gascoigne and I know they both wore No. 18 here," Grealish said. 'So, as soon as I knew this deal was close, I had a look and No. 18 was free, so that was perfect for me and it was the only number I was going to take from that point."
