More drivers going 100 mph, troopers say
Those speeds not only pose a risk to the person behind the wheel.
'Especially the driver, because he's, you know, he or she's driving at that speed. The passengers that are in that vehicle, as well as motorists that may be around, or even pedestrians that may be around in those areas that those high speeds are being noticed at,' said Parker Bailey, a state trooper with SD Highway Patrol.

And a ticket may not be the only outcome. As speeds increase, so do the consequences.
'Depending on the speed and the nature of it, we could be discussing reckless driving where you may get arrested, you may have your vehicle towed. Severe consequences may even be felony charges, depending on what's going on with it,' said Bailey.
If you happen to see someone going at a high rate of speed, Bailey says you shouldn't try to stop them.
'If you see those dangerous drivers around you, please don't intervene. Sometimes we have people that try and intervene and that just creates a risk to themselves. Also, just call 911, report the information that you have and then we can be on the lookout for those drivers,' said Bailey.
And as Memorial Day approaches, troopers have a message for anyone on the roads:
'Just making sure that you are driving safe and giving yourself extra time, making sure that you are you or you have someone that's sober driving for you. Just the standard motor vehicle safety that we continue to reiterate. Make sure you start your holidays off safely,' said Bailey.

Beloved shipwreck explorer and husband of top NJ lawyer dies during deep sea dive
A prominent shipwreck explorer and husband of one of New Jersey's top attorneys died during a deep-sea diving expedition. Joe Mazraani, 47, suffered the emergency on July 29 while diving to the shipwreck of 'The Big Engine Steamer,' 200 miles offshore on the eastern edge of Georges Bank, according to his company, Atlantic Wreck Salvage. UPDATE: Man of interest in custody for suspected arson in Sangamon Tower fire
UPDATE at 1:25 p.m. SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — A man has been taken into custody for a suspected arson that may have caused the fire at the Sangamon Tower, according to Springfield's Fire Chief. Decatur emergency agencies respond to vacant healthcare facility fire Springfield Fire Chief Nick Zummo confirmed with WCIA that a man has been taken into custody as a 'person of interest' for a suspected arson that caused this fire. Additionally, two people were taken to a local hospital and treated for minor burns. A third person at the scene also experienced a 'medical incident,' but it is unclear at this time if this was a result of the fire. Zummo said that only a few residents were displaced as a result of this fire. Even though an arrest has been made, the official cause of the fire is still under investigation. SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — At least one person was injured in a fire at the Sangamon Tower in Springfield Wednesday morning, and agencies also responded to a related vehicle accident. In a pair of Facebook posts, the Springfield Fire Department and Springfield Fire Fighters Local 37 said they were responding to a fire at that building, which is near Carpenter Street. The initial engine on the scene with Springfield firefighters began an offensive attack from the nearest stairwell in the building. Champaign announces street closure for phase 3 of Garden Hills Project There was also a related vehicle accident in this area. The structure fire was later upgraded to a Code 2 for more personnel and was designated Code 4 by an attack crew on scene. Sprinklers were activated and there will be an extensive overhaul of the structure. One person has been reported injured as a result of this incident, and people are still being asked to avoid or use caution in the area. Four fire trucks responded to the fire as well as the Springfield Police Department, and the fire trucks left the scene at approximately 10:35 a.m. There is no further information available at this time.
