Holy Qur'an Museum opens in Makkah
MAKKAH: Makkah Deputy Gov. Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz recently inaugurated the Holy Qur'an Museum in Makkah's Hira Cultural District.
Developed under the supervision of and with support from the Royal Commission for Makkah City and the Holy Sites, the museum highlights the Qur'an as the primary source of guidance for Muslims and is designed to enrich the religious and cultural experience for both locals and visitors.
It is home to rare manuscripts, historical copies of the Qur'an and interactive displays that allow visitors to explore the journey of Qur'anic transcription and its preservation through history, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Spanning about 67,000 sq. meters, the Hira Cultural District is a focal point for those keen to experience the spirit and history of Makkah. Centered on Mount Hira, where the first revelation descended, it includes various facilities designed to enhance the religious and educational experience.
Among them is the Revelation Exhibition, which offers an interactive portrayal of the descent of revelation, and another that allows visitors to ascend to Hira Cave which was the scene of the revelation.
Among the artifacts on display are a photographed copy of the Qur'an manuscript of Uthman bin Affan and several ancient stone inscriptions of Qur'anic verses.
The project also incorporates the Saudi Coffee Museum, the Cultural Library and Hira Park.
The Holy Qur'an Museum will remain open throughout Ramadan.

Interior minister opens Mujahideen's new Hajj Command HQ in Muzdalifah
Saudi Gazette report MAKKAH — Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif inaugurated on Sunday the General Command Headquarters for Hajj and Umrah missions, affiliated with the General Administration of Mujahideen, in Muzdalifah. During the inauguration, Prince Abdulaziz watched a presentation on the new facility, which has been equipped with the latest technical and security standards. These enhancements will enable the personnel and field teams of the General Administration of Mujahideen to serve pilgrims with the highest levels of efficiency and professionalism. The minister visited on Saturday the General Transport Center of the Royal Commission for Makkah City and the Holy Sites in Arafat. He was received by Minister of Transport and Logistic Services and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Transport General Authority (TGA) Saleh Al-Jasser; Deputy Minister of Transport and Logistics and TGA Acting President Dr. Rumaih Al-Rumaih; and CEO of the Royal Commission for Makkah City and the Holy Sites Eng. Saleh Al-Rasheed. During the visit, Prince Abdulaziz had a briefing on the transport system's operations during this year's Hajj season, including the planning, operation, and control mechanisms managed by the center. This includes central operation rooms and subsidiary control rooms that regulate crowd movement, direct buses, and ensure smooth flow using real-time data analysis tools and live monitoring systems. The interior minister also reviewed the interactive map of pilgrim service routes between Mina and the Grand Mosque during the days of Tashreeq, which regulates shuttle transport and sets closure times for each route. The General Transport Center is responsible for organizing and managing the transport system in Makkah and the holy sites through multiple operational modes, including shuttle transport and single and double shuttles, in direct coordination with over ten government agencies to ensure functional integration within the Hajj system.

Saudi Arabia's Special Security and Protection Forces are actively participating in Hajj 2025 to organize pedestrian traffic and manage crowds in the holy sites, according to the Saudi Press Agency. The forces have been ensuring the safety of pilgrims through a smooth traffic flow since the beginning of Hajj rituals. They have been also committed to efficiently implementing field security plans and addressing the challenges of the large number of pilgrims and their movement between the holy sites. Furthermore, the forces are cooperating with the relevant authorities to achieve the main strategic objective of this year's Hajj and ensure security, tranquility, and strict organization. Diriyah Celebrates Eid Al-Adha with Vibrant Festivities
The Diriyah Gate Development Authority celebrated Eid Al-Adha with a wide range of joyful, educational and entertaining events, according to the Saudi Press Agency. The festivities started after the Eid prayers, with mosques celebrating the aroma of Saudi coffee and the essence of traditional hospitality. In the afternoon, the activities of the historic At-Turaif and Al-Dhuwaihra districts began.
